Another Full Moon in Libra – article

On April 19th at 7:12am EDTanother Full Moon becomes exact, and this is the second of two Full Moons in Libra within a 30-day period.

This doesn’t happen too often; the last time we had two consecutive Full Moons in the same sign was June of 2016, in Sagittarius-Gemini — the last time it happened in the sign of Libra-Aries was 57 years ago, in April 1962. If you are already a Member of our online community, feel free to also watch my video on the subject.

Two consecutive Moons in the same sign is particularly interesting because of the degree in which they becomes exact — it is usually an exalted degree — and the current Full Moon becomes exact in 29 degrees of Libra. This is an exalted degree because it is the last degree of the sign and it’s therefore the last chance for any transiting celestial body to express itself before changing signs.

This would indicate a strong urge to complete something, most likely something that started with the first Full Moon in 0º of Libra on March 20th — and therefore connected to relationships, a desire for balance and equality (including harmony in our environment and with ourselves).

With any Full Moon, we see things that we have not been aware of before, and we get a chance to make some changes if we don’t like what we see. Ask yourself: What’s been happening to me since March 20th, when it comes to others? What needs adjusting? What needs to simply change?

That said, we discussed the Aries-Libra polarity at length in the first Libra Full Moon video, posted in March (to hear about that polarity, click here) — so let’s focus now on the aspects connected to this month’s Full Moon chart, starting with two Uranus aspects:

First: Uranus, in an early degree of Taurus, and aligns with the Sun, which is in the last degree of Aries, and therefore also opposes the Moon. Uranus symbolizes the desire for…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 27-29 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn, Cancer or 0-1 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

New Moon in Aries — article

On April 5th, at 4:50am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 15 degrees of Aries. This marks the beginning of a new Moon cycle; anything brand-new started in the next two weeks has the chance to get off to a great start. Click here to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

The New Moon in fast-paced, enthusiastic, and courageous Aries asks us to connect to our personal goals and get very clear on what we want to create over the next 28 days. This is an action-packed New Moon, with the focus on ourselves; we have a tremendous amount of energy and want to sprint — it’s a “do now, think later” energy.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac; as such, it represents new beginnings, initiation, breaking new ground, birthing new forms. An Aries New Moon is thus an especially fertile time for seeding new projects and directions.

We generally don’t know what will happen when we start something brand-new — something we have never done before — and this can stir up insecurities and nervousness, sometimes maybe even plain fear, even panic.

Aries and its ruling planet Mars correspond with the quest to develop courage — not fearlessness, but the conscious choice to act in spite of fear — some call this the “Warrior Energy”.

One of the many ways we can demonstrate courage is to….

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of either Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some intentions for this month’s Moon cycle — this process is especially powerful with the New Moon in Aries — and as always, is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact  (and definitely not during a Moon void of course)

So this month, we have two periods that are great times to set intentions: the first is the roughly seventeen hours between 4:50am and 10:15pm, Friday, April 5th; if you aren’t able to set intentions during that time period, wait until the next day — between 9:06am Saturday, April 6th, and 4:50am Sunday, April 7th, a 19.5 – hour period (as always, all times are EDT).

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), feel free to join my Facebook Fanpage or follow me on twitter. I will be posting several reminders on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to let you know that it is time to set your intentions 😉

Here’s a few bonus questions: What might emerge if I suspended my opinions, beliefs, judgments and concepts, just for a moment, here and there, now and again? What are some resolutions I could make toward inner healing or wholeness? What would be a good first action step on one of those resolutions? How might accepting my current relationship to my masculine side support me on that journey?

Full Moon in Libra — article

On March 20th at 9:43pm EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 0 degrees of Libra. All Full Moons bring an opportunity for awareness and integration of the traits connected to the relevant Full Moon polarities, especially those that have been neglected or suppressed…

This Full Moon has heightened effects on us for two important reasons: first, the zero degree aspect, secondly, it is also a SuperMoon (i.e., the Moon is at its closest distance to the Earth). All of this increases emotionality and fosters larger shifts in consciousness.

This particular Full Moon occurs on the day of the Vernal/Spring Equinox, in the midst of the Mercury Retrograde phase in Pisces; it quincunxes Uranus in 0 degrees of Taurus. Meanwhile, Chiron (in almost 2 degrees of Aries) conjuncts the Sun in Aries and opposes the Moon in Libra.

So, we have several things going on here with this Full Moon and we will address all of them in a moment; feel free to also watch my Members-Only Full Moon video here.

Late in the evening on Wednesday (March 20th), the Moon enters Libra; this starts the energetic build up towards the Full Moon — and only 15 minutes later, the Sun in Aries opposes the Moon in Libra

The Libra-Aries polarity highlights the spiritual dance between various polarities: individual drives or goals and one-on-one relationships, masculine and feminine, independence and collaboration. Whether we are single or partnered, we are all in relationship to someone — any one-on-one relationship counts here — business, personal, health-related, etc.

For the next two weeks, we seek…

New Moon in Pisces — article

On March 6th, at 11:04am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 16 degrees of Pisces; this marks the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac; it connects us to our spiritual journey, as it represents a reunion with Source/God/the Universe. When at its highest vibration, Pisces unifies all dualities — it is completely aware of the oneness of all. It tells us there is a union within, that exists always, and that we can tap into it.

Ask yourself: Am I (in other words, do I exist)? Could I let that be enough, just for right now? Keep repeating these questions until you feel completely relaxed and at peace.

Now, close your eyes, and ask yourself: Am I my body or am I more than that? Am I the sounds that I can hear inside and outside my head, or am I more than that? Am I the sensations that I can feel and receive, or am I more than that? And, if I am more than those things, where do I begin? Where do I end?

Pisces is accepting and aware of its eternal nature. It lovingly allows all, because it knows that there is no real separation between things, that separation only exists in the mind.

At its lowest vibration however, Pisces feels…

If you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 14-18 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

This month, the best time to set intentions would therefore be between 11:04am March 6th and 2:08pm March 7th. Then again, from 3:27pm on March 7th until 11:04am on March 8th (EST – New York-time).

Full Moon in Virgo — article

The next Full Moon will be “exact” on Feb. 19th at 10:54am ESTin almost 1 degrees of Virgo

A Full Moon is always an opposition between the Moon and the Sun; during these oppositions, we seek balance, alignment and integration around two perspectives that seem like polar opposites — very often we experience this (and achieve it) through our interactions with others, so relationships of all kinds are highlighted during Full Moons. Feel free to also watch my video for more

The Moon in Virgo opposes the Sun in Pisces. If you are already familiar with this polarity, feel free to skip ahead to the aspects involved in this Full Moon chart…

Virgo seeks personal wholeness; Pisces reminds us of an even greater wholeness — our divinity and interconnectedness with all of life.

Virgo benefits from apprenticeship, whereas Pisces learns to trust inner guidance above all else — when balanced, we are able to discern without judgment, serve without obligation, and love all of creation, including ourselves.

Virgo analyzes, Pisces feels: We are invited to discern what’s real, so we can make healthier choices.

To find the balance between Virgo and Piscesask yourself:

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point, or personal planets in 0-3 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius, or 28-29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, this month’s Full Moon will affect you more; the same is true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

New Moon in Aquarius — article

On February 4th at 4:04pm EST, a powerful New Moon in almost 16 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact. This is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. I also recommend you watch my video on the subject.

With the New Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, we have our eye on the future — the highest vibration of Aquarius gives us the opportunity to see a clear vision for our life — and we are ready to make huge improvements.

Aquarius also deals with the power of ideals, technology, and inventions. We are included in the collective focus on changing group consciousness.

At its best, Aquarius stands for equality and diversity, innovation and reform, collaboration and community; we strive for progress. The challenge issued is to unite and transcend differences of gender, race, and cultural or religious backgrounds.

To move even further into that higher Aquarian vibration, ask yourself the following questions: Where am I called to make a difference? What could I, as an individual, do for humanity? And how might “group consciousness” help humanity make progress? Where might I begin?

At a lower Aquarian vibration,…

Now let’s talk “Intentions” 🙂 The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best set soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 4:05pm on Feb. 4th until 6:59pm on Feb. 5th; and then again from 9:02pm on Feb. 5th until 4:05pm on Feb. 6thNew York Time/US Eastern Time

Full SuperMoon/Lunar Eclipse in Leo

Monday very early morning, on Jan. 21st, at 12:16am EST, the Moon opposes the Sun in almost 1 degrees of Leo — this is a very powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse becoming exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Leo Sunday (Jan. 20th), at 10:54pm EST.

Once every six months, the Sun, Moon, and Earth align precisely enough for a Solar or Lunar Eclipse to occur. Eclipses are always powerfully connected to the Moon Nodes and thus to our Soul’s Journey. If you’d like to learn more about this month’s Full Moon, click here to watch my Lunar Eclipse video.

This Full Moon is the second of two Eclipses in January and it’s extra-powerful. There are two main reasons for this: firstly, because it’s a SuperMoon — these occur when the Moon is either Full or New while at its closest distance to the Earth — they are therefore more powerful. This often means an increase in emotional reactivity, plus greater awareness around the issues connected to the particular Full Moon energy in question.

Secondly, as the last Eclipse in the Leo/Aquarius polarity, it completes an Eclipse cycle that started in Feb. 2017 — this put an emphasis on freedom and individuality, while redefining our approach to improving our future — and paradoxically, also on our need to belong. We are also invited to become more aware of our mind’s activities, of group affiliations out there in the world, and of moving towards a courageous, open, and self-expressed heart — one that knows how to joyfully and playfully connect to the “here and now”.

Think back over the last two years, and ask yourself: What has shifted for me, in my attitudes towards the collective (or “humanity”)? How about like-minded people or political/group affiliations? Was there likewise a shift in my desire for more joy? For authentic self-expression? Heartfelt actions? If I think back to the last Solar Eclipse in Leo (August 11th, 2018), what brought the possibility for more joy into my life since then? Have I been able to get more in touch with my inner child?

A final note about Eclipses: they’re consciousness upgrades. For 7 – 10 days before and after one, we are usually in uncharted territory — anything is possible and it’s wise to expect the unexpected. Anything brand-new started during this time will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after Eclipse season is over.

For that reason, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after Jan. 30th, when this particular Eclipse season ends. That said, if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to “be”… Just be wary of the urge to push something forward merely to relieve anxiety or impatience.

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 0-6 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio, or 26-29 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this powerful Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer). And if you’d like to learn more about this month’s Full Moon, click here to watch my Lunar Eclipse video

Moon Nodes in Cancer/Capricorn

On Nov. 6th in the afternoon, the Moon Nodes switched from Leo/Aquarius to Cancer/Capricorn; they will remain in those signs until May 2020! The last time the Moon Nodes were in these particular signs was back in April, 2000 — October, 2001.

The Moon Nodes show us what our Soul’s Journey currently requires on the collective and personal levels — let’s take a closer look at what this means:

The goal of the collective Soul’s journey is to balance and integrate two apparently opposite energies: our inner experience (symbolized by Cancer), and our outer obligations or goals (Capricorn). This will take looking closely at the balance between taking care of ourselves, versus taking care of others — and also at who we are inside, versus what we project to the world, how we portray ourselves.

This is also about developing healthy foundations, emotionally and materially, in private and in public. As best as you can, avoid “should-ing” on yourself: Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying “I’m doing the best I can and that’s all I can ever do”)  😉

To get a more personal interpretation, we also need to take a look at the House placement of that Cancer/Capricorn polarity in our own birth charts, as well as the signs involved… we cover the houses in the webinar (I will include a link at the end of this article).

In Cancer, the North Node invites us to let ourselves be…

Moon Nodes are also connected to the Eclipse cycles; each of these cycles prompts us to evolve and provides an opportunity to progress to the next level of our Soul’s Journey, collectively and individually. The Solar Eclipse in 20.5º of Cancer on July 12th, 2018 started a new Eclipse cycle connected to the Cancer/Capricorn polarity.

Think back to that time and see what you discovered about yourself in relationship to Self-care. How was it a new beginning (or perhaps a preview of what’s to come) in connection with family, home (this could be a physical or emotional “home”) — was there a shift around feeling “at home” or “safe”, both internally and in the world?

We also discussed this in more detail during our last Forecasting Forum, in connection with our own birth charts; if you’d like to know more about how the Moon Nodes’ movements impact you personally, click here to get the video of the Forum.

Jupiter in Sagittarius

On Thursday, Nov. 8th, at 7:38am EST, Jupiter moves from passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio into adventurous, enthusiastic Sagittarius, where it will journey until Dec. 2nd, 2019.

Jupiter moves through a 12-year cycle, so the last time it traveled through its own sign was between November, 2006 and December, 2007 — and the time before that was between December, 1994 and January, 1996.

Think back to those periods… what possibilities or opportunities arose for you? In what ways did you grow or expand? What felt like a birth or a new beginning back then? How could you take all of that to the next level?

Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet’s keywords: morality, gratitude, hope, honor, the law. Jupiter is the planet of possibility, optimism, and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). Jupiter is also associated with a sense of humor, goodwill, and mercy.

The lower expressions of Jupiter include “Oh, the heck with it”, “I deserve this and more”, “the rules do not apply to me” — generally speaking, too much of a good thing, blind optimism, excess, stretching the truth, overindulgence, and so forth.

In the natal chart, the position of Jupiter reveals how we express generosity and tolerance; it also shows how we go about trusting others and improving our lives. Where do we look for wisdom and understanding?

Jupiter symbolizes the principle of expansion; in Scorpio it held a magnifying glass over authentic, emotional commitments or connections and thereby changed our perspective on our subconscious drives and fears, those suppressed or denied parts of ourselves.

Since Scorpio was all about feeling more fully and authentically connected to all parts of ourselves (and thereby feeling empowered), everything in the human unconscious was lit up — we got to see the darker side of things, our survival strategies — and our deepest, darkest desires.

With Jupiter in Sagittarius, that magnifying glass now swings over to…

Where does Jupiter-in-Sagittarius fall in your own birth chart? What aspects does it make during the year-long transit? Uranus in Taurus until 2026 — A New Vision for the Earth

On May 15th, 2018, Uranus moved into Taurus for almost six months. Due to its Retrograde phase, Uranus temporarily returned to Aries from Nov. 6th, 2018, to March 6th, 2019. It re-entered Taurus on March 6th, 2019 and, at that point, will stay in that sign until April 26th, 2026 (with a brief exception from July 7th until Nov. 7th, 2025).

Whenever a planet moves into a new sign, it’s a good idea to look back at the last time it made that transit — to quote Mark Twain, “history doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes” — things obviously won’t go exactly the same, but we can expect a certain resonance or similarity. Uranus is an outer planet that takes a long time to go around the Sun; the last time it moved through Taurus was between June 1934 and May 1942; before that, it was from July 1850 – March 1859.

Before we look at those periods of history, let’s talk briefly about the themes of Uranus in Taurus, so we can spot those “rhymes” if they occur. What can we expect when disruptive Uranus moves through earthy Taurus? Well, for one thing, it would be wise to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and relaxed with being surprised.

If we were only allowed one word to describe what Uranus does, it would be “disruption”. It’s all about progress, change — but not necessarily gradual, continuous amendment of the old — this is more like breaking down and uprooting the “old” structures.

This is the planet of “vision”, and like all visionaries, it favors a revolution as the quickest way to realize the “ideal future state”. It moves toward more freedom — you could say the higher vibration of Uranus seeks freedom for all, while a lower vibration says “I need to be free to do what I want, and the hell with you”.

Uranus listens to a higher calling — a Divine Mind — and can thus be detached from emotion and “human feeling”. Depending on the vision being pursued, this can be highly beneficial, or very dangerous.

Uranus urges everyone to wake up and smell the coffee, then join together to make coffee like the world has never seen and make sure that nobody ever has to drink mediocre coffee ever again.

Some Uranian keywords: Technology, Innovation, Discovery, Novelty, Ingenuity, Originality, and Astrology.

Uranus has two major modes: The Reactive and the Intuitive Mind. Look over that list of keywords again and notice how those modes would play out for each one — “reactive” would lead pretty much every time to harm, “intuitive” to life-giving breakthroughs. As best as you can, notice how those modes will play out for you — Remain conscious! Choose well!

As you can probably tell, Uranus celebrates originality and individuality; it loves the rebels and revolutionaries who rally against the “establishment” and their established thought — or who at least put a new spin on old things. It can also go overboard and end up steering an erratic course onto the rocks.

So much for Uranus — what of Taurus

With Uranus in Taurus, we are getting a chance to have an amazing new exploration of our own values and connections to our bodies, our resources, talents, etc.

Taurus is connect to…

Chiron in Aries until 2027

On April 17th, 2018, Chiron moved from dreamy, sensitive Pisces to fast-paced, enthusiastic Aries, where it journeyed until Sept. 25th, 2018 — you could regard this as a preview of coming attractions, since Chiron moves into Aries again (after having retrograded back into Pisces for several months) on Feb. 18th, 2019 at 4:10am EST… and then stays in that sign for 8 years (until April 2027)!

What is the significance of Chiron? It’s considered the bridge between the limitations of the physical and the unlimited nature of the non-physical (or spiritual) world. Often referred to as the “Wounded Healer”, it reminds us of our humanity — and guides us to see it as a gift.

When we take responsibility for our human limitations and move past seeing them as “wrong” or “bad”, our inner gifts and uniqueness can emerge more completely and powerfully.

Let’s look now at Chiron in Aries: The day after Chiron moved into Aries in 2018, the Sun conjuncted Uranus in that same sign. This points to the possibility that Chiron’s journey through Aries places a strong emphasis on liberation of the self — this time around.

Chiron in Aries is all about the wounded warrior, the Healer-Hero that emerges from a Warrior’s healing journey. The healing path consists of …

Were you born between April 1968 and May 1976? Or Oct. 1976 – March 1977? If the answer is yes, you have Chiron in Aries in your natal chart, and will have a Chiron Return within the next 8-9 years.

This means that one cycle of your Healing Journey is coming to an end, and a new one is beginning: you are getting a chance at leaving the past behind, and moving forward with greater acceptance of your own humanity.

Is your natal Chiron in the first House of your Birth chart? Is the ruler of your natal Chiron’s sign in Aries or in your first House? You too will be able to relate to the Hero’s Healing Journey…

For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your own personal healing journey at this time, feel free to get my most recent talk about “Healing the Wounded Masculine: Chiron in Aries — a Holistic Approach to How we Show Up in the World”.

How to Set New Moon Intentions

A client of mine sent me this email and I wanted to share it, because I thought that many of you might have similar questions about the New Moon Intention setting process.

I have two questions on setting intentions during a New Moon:
1. How many intentions should I set? One site recommend 10 but I image focusing a few good and important ones is better than setting your mind on too many things.

2. What does “setting intention” at certain time mean? Do I write them down during that time? Do I focus on them during that time? Do I keep those thought away during the voc moon? How long would it take to “set my intention”?”

Here is what I responded:

Saturn’s Journey through Capricorn until Dec. 2020!

Dec.19th, 2017 at 11:49pm EST, Saturn changes signs from adventurous, truth-seeking and enthusiastic Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented and responsible Capricorn, where it will journey until Dec., 2020 (except for the period between March and July of 2020, when it will temporarily move into Aquarius, giving us preview of what’s to come beyond Capricorn)

Saturn feels quite comfortable in Capricorn, as that planet “rules” this earth sign; you might say that Capricorn and Saturn have a lot in common and understand each other. Here are some key characteristics that apply to both: (more…)

Jupiter in Scorpio until November 2018

On Oct. 10th 2017, Jupiter moved from relationship-oriented, harmony-seeking Libra into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until November 8th, 2018. Jupiter has a 12-year cycle, so the last time it traveled through this transformative sign was from Oct. 2005 to Nov. 2006; the time before that was Nov. 1993 to Dec. 1994.

Think back to those times… what possibilities or opportunities arose for you? In what ways did you grow or expand? What felt like a birth or a new beginning at that time? How could you take all of that to the next level?

A Deeper Look

T-Square (Nov. 2016 – April 2017): Since Nov. 2016, we’ve been experiencing a T-Square involving Pluto in Capricorn, Jupiter in Libra, and Uranus in Aries. Given that this is a powerful and fairly long-lasting aspect, I figured I would write a special blog entry about it.

Let’s first talk about what T-Squares are in general, before diving into the specifics of this particular one:

The first thing you need to know is that T-squares are very dynamic aspects, that keep us “on our toes”, constantly growing. We can learn a tremendous amount when we work actively and consciously with the energies involved in a T-Square.

So what exactly are they?

Imagine a dinner table with four legs. Now remove one of the legs. You now have two legs “opposite” each other and a third one at right angles to each of the other two; together, they make the shape of a “T”.

This is not a very stable, well-balanced table, as it has an “empty” spot where a leg should be.

Likewise, a T-Square is a formation of 3 planets that together form the shape of a “T” in a chart — two form an “opposition”, the third one usually “squares” them both.

The third planet is known as the “focus planet”. Just like our table, this planet has an “empty leg” directly across from it in the chart.

Why does this matter? Because the “focus planet” in a T-Square brings more stress, and thus a more urgent demand for our growth. We resolve and relieve that stress, and thereby ease the growth process, by bringing the focus planet’s higher expression to that “empty leg” in the chart.

Let’s get down to the specifics of this particular T-square:

As previously mentioned, it involves Pluto in Capricorn, Jupiter in Libra, and Uranus in Aries. All of these planets have been within 5 degrees of each other since the T-Square formed back in November and will remain so until early April. Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries form the “opposition” legs of the table, while Pluto in Capricorn is the “focus planet”.

This is a very powerful combo.

It’s asking us to be completely honest, with ourselves and others, about our intentions and motivations — especially around long-term goals. We are also asking this of our leaders right now, we want them to be honest, to have authentic intentions.

This aspect brings the message that each of us has the power to make a difference in the world… that we need not just give our power away to world “leaders” or “influencers”. It’s saying “We all have power, we all can make a difference — Own that! Seize the moment! Take up your courage with both hands and move forward!”

We are at a turning point: Empowering others is now key! Notice when you try to force your beliefs on others — that could introduce an element of disempowerment for them and us.

There is also some tension between relationships and long-term goals. We may ask how our relationships support us in accomplishing those long-term goals. At the root of this are seemingly conflicting desires: We want to expand our experience of harmony, balance and collaboration, all while passionately building something empowering over the long haul. It’s not always easy to “square” these energies.

As best as you can, stay flexible, make adjustments, find creative solutions when it comes to these very different desires and focuses. If we feel boxed in to something inauthentic, we may rebel or act contrary. This will be even more true within our relationships — this could bring in some restlessness or instability, perhaps related to our business relationships or long-term goals.

As best as you can, don’t take things too personally — and stay as flexible as possible. Allow there to be breakthroughs, shifts, changes. As always, change could be uncomfortable — perhaps because we like what’s familiar — or because we want change so badly that we can’t handle the in-between phase that comes will all transitions… it’s an invitation to stretch ourselves and step into the unknown.

Here’s some “self-coaching” questions to ease you on your way:

What if that “something unexpected” around the corner was guaranteed to change my life for the better? What needs to be eliminated? Changed? What would “courage” do? What if I simply surprised myself, right here and now?

Let’s look at some other facets of this T-square. Earlier, we mentioned that the “focus planet” is Pluto in Capricorn:

This T-square is thus asking us to stretch and grow along another dimension: we are invited to empower ourselves in the world by connecting to our “feeling body” and by developing a deeper understanding of our physical and emotional needs (especially for safety).

At the same time, we are also invited to stretch ourselves to create a more authentic and empowered society — one that honors the unique, individual contribution of everyone — one capable of owning its fears and less attractive characteristics. How might we bring this about? The best place to start is to honor ourselves and express our unique spark.

All of this accelerates the breakdown of long-standing patterns: we are invited individually and collectively to resolve core karmic lessons — shifting from an old paradigm to a new one. What might a “new paradigm” be?

How can we accomplish change without discounting input from others?

What if change were something we could simply allow, rather than something that involved aggression?

As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, there is no need to rush anything 😉 Ask yourself: Could I allow myself to be uncomfortable, just for right now?

The position of this T-square in our birth chart shows the area of life in which we are developing not only courage and initiative (Aries), but also diplomacy and collaborative spirit (Libra), together with responsibility and integrity (Capricorn).

This T-Square is also asking us to redefine personal and collective freedom. We are invited to release old patterns, particularly around gender, so we can each fulfill our unique role at this critical juncture on Earth. Much like the 1960’s, we are laying the groundwork for future generations right now.

Just as was true then, we need to let our vision direct our thoughts and actions, rather than our fear. Simply know that it is possible — and that you are part of what makes it possible.

That said — and somewhat paradoxically — bringing forth a global consciousness based on freedom, equality and mutual benefit, will mean addressing what lurks in the shadows: our unconscious… the suppressed, feared, denied, ignored, shameful, etc.  In other words, the inner work not only continues, it informs and enables the vision.

So, I ask myself (and invite you to do the same): What are my true motivations? If fears were driving me, what might they be?

What might shift if I faced those fears — acknowledged them, brought them out into the open?

What if I allowed myself to surrender to my own higher power, or to my passionately pumping, wildly open heart? Trust your inner truth!

By definition, a better future pretty much always requires doing different things, or doing things differently, so be ready to correct your course or set a new one… Is there another path that leads to the goal? What if it were possible to take responsibility and be flexible at the same time?

What if I forgave myself for just a moment? Even for limitations I still have… even for fears… maybe even for my phobias… for all the “stuff” I still carry around, whether from a past life or this one?

As you can see, we are asked to let go of our fearful conditioning, and embrace a vision that calls for us to “live into” the highest version of ourselves.

This will mean we take an innovative approach both to who we are personally, and to our interactions with others. The same is true of our perspective on justice, we’re asking ourselves: what is just? We’re seeking harmony and balance.

Life is so short in relationship to the life of the planet. That we are not in this body for very long, means that there is a certain degree of urgency — almost like a responsibility — to make it count for something. If we are like a single drop of rain in a mighty rainstorm, why not at least be a drop that makes a ripple when it returns to the ocean? Who knows, perhaps as your ripple meets others, it might create a beautiful resonance with everything around it — a harmony that ripples down through eternity…

I therefore invite you to be passionate about life. Why not fully express our uniqueness? After all, that’s what will create the shift. It’s what moves other people. It’s the best and easiest way to touch each others lives.

We are definitely being pulled in many different directions with this T-Square, personally and collectively — radically different.

And, as regular readers of my Weekly Forecasts know: Self-care is therefore critical. Why do I say this?

It’s this simple: if we don’t maintain our physical bodies, we will not be able to maintain the pace, or meet the demands placed on us right now.

The empty leg of this T-square being in Cancer, it emphasizes that message: we are reminded to nurture ourselves, especially (once again) our “feeling body”. We are being invited to pay attention to our basic needs — for love, acceptance, control, safety & security, etc.

As best as you can then, take breaks — or at least slow down and allow yourself to relax. It’s important to explore ways to stay centered and grounded — seek tools or people to help you with that exploration. This is true always, of course, but holds especially true until the end of the T-Square in early April.

Some of us struggle with this. Perhaps we think “I don’t deserve that” or “I’m too busy — my function in the world is more important than the body that performs the work.” Some of us hear “self-care”, and think “selfish”.

When you think about it, though, selfish behaviors are generally coming from fear. And who is served when we neglect our physical or emotional health?

I invite you to reclaim the term “self-care” for love. Aren’t you as deserving of your love and support as any “external” person? Where and how could “self-oriented” motivations serve you and others?

“Self-care” doesn’t have to be a trip to Hawaii — we’re talking about simple things, like making sure that we eat mindfully, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest. This is about letting in affection from friends, family, or pets. It doesn’t matter what your current energetic or financial situation, you can always find some way to let some nurturing happen 🙂

What (or who) brings you comfort and support? How can you nurture yourself in these times of change?

What if empowerment in the world came from being in touch with our “feeling-body”? What might we accomplish if we simply asked for what we need?

In other words, “self-care” means connecting to whatever feels supportive, in order to stay grounded and regenerate; this is particularly important right now, because we are feeling very action-oriented.  If everything else is moving fast, it’s good if we slow down, become the eye of the storm. If nothing else, at least we can do our best to roll with the punches, while standing in our power.

If you’d like some help with this, watch my Full Moon in Gemini video — towards the end, I invite you to do a quick experiment with me, using simple questions from the “Sedona Method”. This can support you in feeling more grounded and present (the Sedona Method is one of the main techniques I use in my coaching practice).

All of this not only empowers us, it also make it easier to empower others — and remember that while force comes from fear and righteousness, true power always comes from love and openness.

Those of us who have personal planets or points (ASC/MC) in 14-28 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer, will feel the effects of this T-Square more strongly.

How does daily Astrology impact us personally?

A client of mine asked me about the difference between daily Astrology and how it impacts our own birth chart. I thought I would share my response…

“The daily Astrology and aspects I talk about in my Weekly Forecasts and my daily posts on facebook/twitter, show how the energies are at play with each other in each now moment. For example: how Jupiter interacts with Chiron at this time. Jupiter being in Virgo, opposes Chiron in Pisces at this time.

Apart from that, there is also how the energies are interacting with each one of us — with each of our birth charts. How does Jupiter connect with your natal chart? Jupiter being in Virgo, how does it connect with your natal planets?

Every planetary energy interacts with something in our own charts. Either a natal planet, a personal point (Ascendant, Career point, etc) or it simply journeys through a House in our chart (influencing an area of our lives). These interactions help us learn something, explore something new, or experience something about ourselves or the world around us that supports our evolutionary process.

Every planetary energy that interacts with another planetary energy in this now moment shows us what the now energies are all about and how to best align ourselves with those. It’s like knowing what the weather is doing…

Of course you are probably only interested in what the weather does where you live. Who cares if it snows in Chicago if you live in England, right?

Watch my video on: “How to Read Your Birth chart, so you can apply my weekly forecast and bi-monthly videos to your own birth chart and get the maximum benefit from my astrological “weather forecasts” 😉

I hope this answered your question. If not, feel free to join me for the next Monthly Forecasting Forum, and ask me whatever you want to know about Astrology at that point ;-)”

Moon Nodes in Virgo/Pisces until 2017 – The Head & The Heart

Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades

What happens when a planet goes “retrograde”?

Relative to us on Earth, planets periodically look as if they are slowing down. As they slow more and more, they seem to stop moving through the sky for a while, then actually go “backward”. This backward motion then slows in turn, halts — the planet is stationary again — and then, slowly at first, the planet sets off again in a “forward” direction.

Astrologers say a planet is “stationing” during both periods when the planet is still or moving slowly. The times when the planet appears to go backward are called “retrogrades”.

Chiron in Pisces: Emotional and Spiritual Healing

A client of mine wrote to me the other day: “I had a question about Chiron in Pisces…I was born in 1968 so my Chiron is in Pisces. Is this time especially more significant for me in (healing) because Chiron is now in my Natal Chiron/pisces?”
Thank you for reaching out and asking that question.

What is a Saturn Return?

A client of mine asked me yesterday:

I have been holding some questions around Saturn Return for a while now and have reached a point where I would like to get some clarity on the subject.  I’ve heard different things from many people for years now.  More than anyone else, I trust and would love to hear your interpretation. So I am asking if you are willing and able to take the time to enlighten me?

Saturn Return in Scorpio: A “Cataclysmic Event”?

A client of mine asked me yesterday:

“I did have one question for you regarding my first Saturn Return. I guess I’m just a bit afraid that there will be some cataclysmic event that will occur in and around the day it is exact. If there were to be one main event that would occur, I’m wondering what that could be?”

In regards to your question about the Saturn Return, usually when we are in denial about our lives/something in our life or we rationalize things, we will have a rude awakening during a Saturn transit.

Saturn in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until September 2015

Saturn changed signs from Libra to Scorpio on October 5th, 2012. Saturn’s entry into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio is a powerful placement for the next three years, as it creates a mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn (until September 2015) — Pluto and Saturn will be supporting each other’s agendas, as long as they are in each other’s sign.

The last time Saturn changed signs from harmony-loving Libra to intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio was in November 1982 (and then again in August 1983 because of Saturn’s retrograde phase). If you remember that period, you may recall what happened in the area of relationships for you (or for your parents) at that time. This time around, we are getting a chance to go to a new level, in regards to our relationships and long-term goals. We are starting a new chapter.
Saturn in Scorpio wants us to get down to business when it comes to our deep emotional bonds, either with ourselves or others. It’s time to make some decisions. No more trying to see both sides of a situation, it’s time to make some real choices. It’s do or die; it’s all or nothing. We are being invited to make some really deep changes in our lives. We are ready to put an end to things that are just simply not working for us anymore.
We are powerful in our own right, and Saturn invites us to create healthy boundaries with others. Where could you set some healthy boundaries for yourself? At work? At home? With your family?
We are now ready to focus on becoming whole. We can do this by taking a serious look at what qualities and behaviors need to be embraced: the good, the bad and the ugly. Bringing conscious awareness to all of who we are is the only way to feel empowered from within and to heal what was disempowered in the past. It’s time to take responsibility for who we are and what we are capable of. How can you bring “light”, awareness to the darker places inside of you?
Anything that doesn’t completely resonate with us on a truthful and deeply passionate level is going to have to be cut loose. This may feel scary at first, but if we are being honest with ourselves, whatever we loose or cut loose was not adding anything to our lives anyways; so we are better off without it.
We are here now to get really honest about what we are passionate about, what we want to pursue long-term that resonates with us in a deep, authentic way. We need to make good on our promises now: it’s not enough anymore to just talk about something — it’s time for actions and commitments. We can no longer waste time, we must do what is required, so that we can have deeper, more fulfilling experiences. This is true on a personal and on a collective level.
What would it take for you to fulfill your full potential? What is it that you are most afraid of doing? What if you just went ahead and did it?
On a collective level, we may need to look at our shared resources. These may be resources we share with other countries or the resources of our planet. It’s a great time to clean up all the pollution in the air and in our waters — and take responsibility for a healthy, whole connection to our planet.
For those of us who have Scorpio planets, a Scorpio Ascendent or a Libra Ascendent in a late degree: You may be coming out of a phase of your life that was a little confusing. A phase that had to do with ending things and preparing for the next phase of you life. Now it is time to actualize yourself, to begin anew and to start building something long-term. It’s time to grow up and take responsibility for who you are and what you want. This is a new beginning for you, as best as you can, look reality straight in the eye and get it together. You won’t be able to get away with being anything less than being a mature, upright citizen with complete integrity.

What is this “Moon void of course” -energy?

As the Moon moves through the sky it transits through each zodiac sign in turn, changing signs every two and a half days. Within each sign, it makes various aspects to other planets and celestial bodies; at a certain point, it will make the last aspect in that particular sign. You can think of aspects as being a relationship between two energies; until the Moon enters the next sign it is not connected to any other energies.

Astrologers refer to this as a “Void of Course (VoC) Moon”. During these Moon VoC periods, we too can feel “cut loose”, disconnected from anything definite. Knowing how to handle these VoC periods is one of the most valuable things Astrology can give us.

The VoC Moon invites us to process what we have experienced during the non-VoC Moon periods. It also invites us to drop into our feminine energies: receiving, nurturing, recharging, reflecting, going inward… If you are not able to connect to those feminine energies, stick to routine things and plan your day ahead of time (before it goes VoC). As best as you can, avoid any important meetings, communications and scheduling for the future. Starting or purchasing anything brand-new is not advisable — anything started during a Moon VoC will most likely not have the desired outcome. Rather, finish things up and work on creative or spiritual endeavors. Most importantly, go with the flow 🙂

If you want to find out when there is a Moon VoC, check my weekly Astrology Forecasts, I always mention them.

Many blessings,
Sonja

Pluto Station: Transformation Ahead

A Pluto station takes longer than any other planetary station, because it moves so slowly — and it’s intense.

For a few weeks, before and after a Pluto retrograde phase, as Pluto starts to turn retrograde, or starts moving forward again, its teachings will reveal themselves. It is just about impossible to understand what is taking place when you’re inside a Pluto turnaround. There is no way to grasp the immensity of such a tremendous event until you’re past it. With Pluto making a challenging aspect to Uranus these days, this ups the ante; we are experiencing some very powerful internal changes.

On a personal level, this energy takes us to the depth of who we are, it will go to the deepest and darkest places, until we are ready to let go and surrender to our higher Self. When it’s starting to speed up its forward movement; it is then we will most likely start to see the bigger picture emerge. This can give us the power to make deep changes in our lives.

Pluto’s energy is known as the transformer — bringer of endings and beginnings — endings of things that no longer serve us and beginnings of that which moves us closer to our true soul purpose, our deepest passion. Pluto is an all-or-nothing energy; it is about empowering ourselves from within and empowering others by being truthful to who we are, by expressing our highest purpose, by tapping fully into our true nature.

If you are willing, you will be experiencing a very powerful new beginning. We are being asked to take a big jump and grow beyond old, self-imposed boundaries.

If you have anything in a mid degree of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer in your natal chart, this time is going to affect you in a very profound way. As best as you can, keep your focus on the things you want to create, rather than on the things you don’t want to create. Let yourself be still and peaceful.

Could you allow yourself to open your heart, even if fear is present? Are there any attachments or obsessions in your life right now that are no longer serving you? Could you allow yourself to release them and relax into your heart-center? Could you be open to experiencing true power from within? What would it look like if you were truly powerful, from a place of love, not fear?

People born in the 70s have their natal Pluto in Libra. With natal Pluto in Libra we are being asked to transform our relationships and feel empowered through them, in them (and empower ourselves and our partner) by being truthful to who we are. If you were born in the mid-late 70s, you will make a profound change in how you do relationships. Be open to grounding yourself in who you are and allowing things to end that need to, so you can experience a powerful new beginning that serves you and your Soul’s journey.

Many blessings,
Sonja

The Uranus-Pluto Dance of Personal & Global Growth 2011-2017

Uranus/Pluto squares: These outer planets move more slowly through the sky and their influence is very powerful. We started to feel the approach towards the first square already back in Spring of 2011, the last exact square will be in 2015. And we will still be able to feel the effects fo this combo until 2017.

As these two planets move through this sequence, the energy rises and falls like a slow-moving, powerful tide that reaches a high point as the square becomes exact, then slowly subsides. All seven of these squares are connected to our personal and collective evolution towards greater freedom and authenticity — and also our ability to create something that serves ourselves and others over the long-term.
