New Moon in Leo — the article

On August 16th, at 5:38am EDTthe Moon aligns with the Sun in 23 degrees of Leo — in other words, the New Moon will be exact (I recommend you also watch my New Moon video on the subject).

There are several planets of importance in this New Moon chart:
Uranus in Taurus & Mercury in Virgo not only trine each other, but are also both exalted/stationing — and Jupiter in Taurus starts to slow down (station) only a day after the New Moon becomes exact — we will feel its archetypical energy more strongly until Sept. 22nd.

All three of these planets are preparing for their various Retrograde phases, bringing awareness to issues we must face or deal with during their various Retrograde phases.

The New Moon in Leo aligns with Venus (currently in her retrograde phase), trines Chiron in Aries, and squares a wide Jupiter/Uranus alignment in Taurus.

The exalted Mercury in Virgo also makes a Quincunx to Chiron in Aries and aligns with Mars (the ruler of Aries). More about all of that in a moment; first, let’s talk about the New Moon energies:

A retrograde Venus aligns with the New Moon in Leo; this highlights the power of our individual creativity; and makes our inner creative child and any physical children essential for the next 28 days.

Since Venus is in her Retrograde phase until Sept. 3rd, we are invited to look at what is (and what isn’t) in alignment with the expression of our light. We are invited to reclaim our hearts and reconnect to our inner joy and expressive, playful core.

Ask yourself: What needs to be re-evaluated in my life? What are my heart connections telling me?

Do I feel connected to joy? To a healthy sense of self-expression? Playful creativity? Where can I find the courage to step outside of my safety zone? What role does gratitude play in all of this?

We also covered the Venus Retrograde phase in our most recent Forecasting Forum, which is now available for purchase on my webinar page. Feel free to take a look to better understand your relationship, self-worth, and financial issues.

For the next 28 days, the New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted Leo has us looking for…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurusor Scorpio? Or do you have an Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer? This New Moon may impact you more than others.

And last, but definitely not least: the New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; the best time for the intention-setting process is soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

Since there will be a Moon VoC phase starting at the same time as the New Moon becomes exact, we will need to wait several hours before setting our intentions during the best & most potent time. This month’s best and most potent time would be between 7:14pm on August 16th and 5:38am on Aug. 18th. As always, all times are in EDT — the New York timezone.

If you live outside the EDT timezone and converting timezones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage and following me on Twitter. I will post reminders on both platforms on August 16th, 17th, and 18th to let you know the best time to set your intentions.

Avoid Impulse Buys

This week’s headline items: Chiron ends its Station phase on Monday, but remains in retrograde; the last Quarter Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Tuesday morning; on Saturday, Mercury starts to slow down, preparing to come to a halt for its Retrograde phase, and the Balsamic Moon phase begins; Venus and the Sun align in Leo on Sunday morning, starting a new Venus cycle; and last but not least, Uranus starts to slow down, and will be more exalted from Sunday on.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday very early morning (for a little over 2 hours), Wednesday morning (for 2.5 hours), and Friday afternoon (for 5.5 hours).

Before we get to this week’s Forecast, please know that…

We had an amazing webinar last Wednesday! We talked about Venus — her position in Leo, her Retrograde energy, and how this impacts each one of us, depending on where Venus lands in our Birth chart.

Venus will remain Retrograde until Sept. 3rd, 2023  ==> Find out how to make the most of this Retrograde phase for yourself, your relationships and your finances!

**FOR THIS WEEK ONLY, I am offering the “Venus Retrograde in Leo” webinar (listed at $37, value at least $98.00) as a Bonus Gift to anyone who books a Reading or Coaching-Healing session with me — or buys the Soul-Based Astrology Basics course.

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, August 7th:

Monday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 2:25am EDT. At that time, the Moon enters steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday morning.

We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing, and “rushing things” goes against our grain.

What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses…

This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon (which will be exact on Tuesday morning).

Venus (the ruler of Taurus) is currently in Leo in its Retrograde motion. This asks us to re-evaluate our relationships and financial undertakings. Ask yourself: What’s important? Where do I overvalue something? Where do I feel undervalued?

What are my heart connections telling me? What needs to be brought back into balance in my life? What roles do joy, self-expression, or creativity play in all of this?

We also covered the Venus Retrograde phase in our most recent Forecasting Forum that is now available for purchase on my webinar page. Feel free to take a look and get a better understanding about your own relationship, self-worth, and financial issues.

Also, FOR THIS WEEK ONLY, I am offering the “Venus Retrograde in Leo” webinar (listed at $37, value at least $98.00) as a Bonus Gift to anyone who books a Reading or Coaching-Healing session with me — or buys the Soul-Based Astrology Basics course.

Also, on Monday, although now retrograde in Aries, Chiron resumes its normal pace through the sky (ending its Station phase). We now have a chance to do some internal work on any wounding or insecurities around personal identity, physical appearance, or leadership abilities that came up over the last couple of weeks.

July 31st – Aug. 6th

Time for Bold, Decisive Action

This week’s headline items: Chiron remains exalted all week; the Full Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Tuesday afternoon; Venus ends her station phase on Wednesday; Mercury enters its pre-Shadow phase on Thursday evening; Mercury and Mars (both in Virgo) will be within 5 degrees of each other from Saturday night on.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday late evening (for almost 2 hours), Wednesday late afternoon/early evening (for almost 6 hours), and Friday late evening (for 2 hours).

Before we get to this week’s Forecast, one last reminder…

On Wednesday at 5pm EDT/2pm PT, we are finally digging deeper into the Venus Retrograde in Leo (which lasts until Sept. 3rd)!!! Yay!!! Join us live or register to receive the mp4-video presentation. EARLY BIRD PRICING available until Monday at midnight EDT!

Want to ask a Question in connection with the Venus Retrograde phase? Email me by Wednesday at 3pm EDT/1pm PT/8pm London time. Questions will be answered in the order that they have been received.

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, July 31st:

Monday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn until 11:58pm EDT. We tend to be more realistic, serious, and cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.

Our ambition surges and brings a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.

As best as you can during this time, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do”.

EARLY BIRD PRICING for the webinar about the Venus Retrograde phase in Leo ends today, Monday, at midnight EDT! ==> Register now before the price goes up!

Want to ask a Question in connection with the Venus Retrograde phase? Email me by Wednesday at 3pm EDT/1pm PT/8pm London time. Questions will be answered in the order that they have been received.

Monday morning, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. As best as you can, make space for looking into some alternative exercise programs or holistic approaches to your personal projects and current long-term commitments. Compassion is key! (Moon in Capricorn squares Chiron in Aries, exact at 8:01am EDT)

Monday early afternoon, we are invited to connect with like-minded people and learn something new about our unique talents or value to the world. We are better able to connect to anything that involves a long-term commitment. We perhaps might also implement revolutionary business practices or government programs that support our values and make life tangibly more enjoyable. (Moon in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus, exact at 12:29pm EDT)

Monday at 10:13pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that lasts for almost 2 hours, until 11:58pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to focus on long-term successes. You might get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks, and don’t forget to practice a little self-care.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday late evening ahead of time.

Monday at 11:58pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, innovative methods, and progress are promoted while the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or outer space… Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius — and this planet is currently moving through Taurus, making these next two days a great time to look at our physical connection to our own body, finances, and whatever is most important to us on this planet.

It’s also a great time to innovate and make changes in our lives around any physical matters that no longer serve us or keep us stuck in the past; we need to elevate our thinking if we want our bodies and the planet to vibrate at a higher frequency.

Ask yourself: Do I need to give my body something different to raise it to a higher vibration? When I tune in to myself, what insights does my body provide?

Where have I become too rigid in connection with my body, my physical resources, or my talents? Where have I become too comfortable with those things? What is my connection to the Earth? To Nature? Do I need more physical space? More physical movement?

This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the Full Moon (exact tomorrow, Tuesday at 2:32pm EDT).

Super Full Moon in Aquarius – the article

On August 1st, at 2:32pm EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 9 degrees of Aquarius. The entrance of the Moon into Aquarius Monday night (July 31st) started the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon; the Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun in fun-loving, expressive Leo.

Oppositions always resonate back to the conjunction of the planets involved. We are looking to see how far we have come since that conjunction. For example, with the Full Moon, we are looking back to the previous New Moon (in this case, July 17th) to see what has developed since then.

This is the second of four Super Full Moons in a row where the Moon is closer to the Earth, increasing its tidal and electromagnetic effects. As each of us has a personal electromagnetic field and the adult body is composed of 55-70% water (depending on the person), SuperMoons also have a much greater effect on us.

From an astronomic point of view, they occur because the Moon’s orbit is elliptical, rather than a perfect circle, so the Moon’s distance from the Earth varies.

SuperMoons are 15% brighter than an average Full Moon and 30% brighter than when the Moon is at its farthest distance from the Earth. For more on the astronomy of SuperMoons, click here

Here are the astrological highlights of this Super Full Moon chart:

  • Jupiter in Taurus squares the Full Moon polarity & trines Mars in Virgo
  • Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) squares an exalted Venus in Leo & is approaching a Trine to Pluto in Capricorn
  • Saturn (the traditional ruler of Aquarius) opposes a Mercury/Mars alignment in Virgo
  • Neptune in Pisces is the Focal Point of a YOD, making a quincunx to an exalted Venus in Leo & the South Node in Libra
  • Venus in Leo also makes a Trine to the North Node in Aries
  • Pluto in Capricorn still squares the Moon Nodes polarity (Aries-Libra), since July 17th in those particular signs

But first, let’s talk about the Full Moon polarity (and if you know this polarity already, feel free to skip this part of the article to the details of this particular Super Full Moon chart — the aspects):

The Moon in Aquarius opposes the Sun in Leo; this highlights the power of our individual creativity and the exponential potency of collaboration. Each of us is invited to reclaim ourselves and add our voice, heart, and hands to something that has meaning for us.

The invitation here is to dare to be different and to remember how we are all part of a larger whole.

The highest quest of Leo leads to authentic Self-expression: to embody our gifts, shine our light, and live our truth. The highest task of Aquarius, on the other hand, is the attainment of…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 7-11 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer)

Again, Venus is not only exalted until August 2nd but also in her Retrograde motion since July 22nd (and this lasts until Sept. 3rd, 2023), which we will discuss in great detail in our next Forecasting Forum on August 2nd at 5pm EDT/2pm PT!

July 24th – 30th

Genuine Self-Acceptance is Key!

This week’s headline items: Venus & Chiron are still stationing (exalted) all week; the first Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Tuesday evening; Pluto in Capricorn squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra (for the second time) on Friday afternoon;  Mercury changes signs from Leo to Virgo on Friday early evening.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for almost 2 hours), Thursday evening (for almost 2 hours), and Saturday evening (for almost 4 hours).

Before we get to this week’s Forecast, a gentle reminder…

… the Forecasting Forum about the Venus Retrograde phase in Leo is live next week, WEDNESDAY, Aug. 2nd! Don’t miss your chance to explore how to deal with any relationship, self-worth & financial issues that have come up in the past two weeks.

What fears or concerns have been showing up for you? Have you been experiencing a lack of love and affection? Or feeling under-appreciated? What has been coming up in regard to fun and romantic relationships? What has come up around your finances? Or how you feel about yourself?

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, July 24th:

Monday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time as we seek the approval of others.

We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.

We may also be able to see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No”. One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.

Monday, very early morning, requires some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice, one that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the urge to expand our perspective when it comes to material possibilities, and beliefs about our talents & our own value in the world — and on the other hand, we feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships.

The key here is to have a balanced approach and allow for experimentation so we don’t drive ourselves or others crazy. (Moon in Libra quincunxes Jupiter in Taurus, exact at 3:24am EDT)

Monday early evening, we become more aware that we need to find a balance between two very different energies — on the one hand, taking a compassionate approach towards our personal goals while being assertive (in a holistic way) out there in the world — and on the other hand, our need to connect and collaborate with others.

Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself made for more fulfilling connections with others? (Moon in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries, exact at 5:30pm EDT)

Monday late evening calls for some more inner adjustments, as we feel uneasy or awkward and must make a choice.

Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, we want to innovate when it comes to what we value (ourselves included) — and maybe also have some financial breakthroughs; on the other hand, we feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships, supporting them — and perhaps collaborating. (Moon in Libra quincunxes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 10:35pm EDT)

July 17th – 23rd

Slow Down a Little & Catch Your Breath

This week’s headline items: Venus and Chiron are exalted all week; the New Moon in Cancer becomes exact, and the Moon Nodes switch from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra on Monday afternoon; Venus’ Station phase in Leo intensifies on Tuesday; Tuesday morning, the North Node will move over the degree of April 20th’s Solar Eclipse; the Sun squares the Solar Eclipse degree from April 20th on Saturday late afternoon; Venus comes to halt — starting her 6-week Retrograde phase and the Sun changes signs from Cancer to Leo on Saturday late evening; Pluto squares the Moon Nodes on Sunday very early morning; Chiron comes to a halt to start its 5-month Retrograde phase on Sunday morning — and Sunday is also the day to start taking actions on our New Moon Intentions.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday late evening (for 1.5 hours), Thursday late morning (for 3 hours), and Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (for almost 2 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, July 17th:

Monday, oh my, what a day! So much going on… astrologically speaking. The Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day. It will journey there until Tuesday very early morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, and our feelings more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the rest of the day!

This Moon placement also started the build-up towards the New Moon in Cancer (exact later today). Watch my video on the subject here, if you haven’t seen it yet.

Monday morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 8:49am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday (July 15th) on; it will remain strong until Wednesday (July 19th). With this aspect, we may have to learn about our assumptions, our thinking processes, and our social conditioning.

“Listening” might not be our strong suit at this time: we may want to share our personal thoughts and joy without limitations, and are thus inclined to exaggeration, often unintended.

We might also feel scattered and have a hard time putting our ideas into practice. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting, and creative.

Impatience and self-righteousness might show up, but moving faster than our bodies are comfortable going will not necessarily get us where we would like to be.

Ask yourself: What if honoring my physical reality, helped me listen to myself 5% more? What might become possible with growing my own personal resources if I were 5% more aware of the assumptions I am making at any given moment? Or of my expectations? Am I expecting too much of myself? Too little?

On another note: If you were being completely honest with yourself, is “being right” really all that it’s cracked up to be? Do you feel a greater or lesser heart connection to yourself and others when you insist on “being right”?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-15 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Monday at 2:32pm EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in 25 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

This New Moon is powerful in that it makes aspects to all the outer planets (Neptune in Pisces, Pluto in Capricorn & Uranus in Taurus). With this many outer planets actively involved in this New Moon chart, we are invited to do some deeper Soul-work. The New Moon also squares Chiron, the wounded Healer!

We have two planets in their Station phases and thus exalted: Venus in Leo & Chiron in Aries. Both of them are preparing for their upcoming Retrograde phases; Venus is also involved in a YOD aspect with Neptune & Pluto (again, two outer planets).

Another thing worth mentioning with this New Moon chart: the Moon Nodes change signs only 90 minutes after the New Moon becomes exact (into Aries-Libra).

This 18-month journey begins with a Square to Pluto in Capricorn (exact on July 23rd and & 28th) which will be within 5 degrees of the Moon Nodes until Dec. 8th, 2023! — but before we unwrap the meaning of all of this, let’s first talk about the Cancer archetype:

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac; as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle amplifies feelings, instincts, and needs.

Cancer represents the yin, receptive principle, which births, nurtures, and protects life. The Sun and Moon in Cancer remind us that we must also receive as well as give. Both constant giving and constant taking are unhealthy and unsustainable.

Our feeling nature has been denied and suppressed for millennia, but we have begun to embrace it more fully since 2011, when Neptune started its journey through Pisces.

Feelings are an essential source of information about our true needs — they are a dashboard that tells us what is healthy for us. When we don’t heed that information, we become dependent on others for validation and direction or lose ourselves in addictions and distractions.

With this New Moon occurring in protective, introverted Cancer, we are invited to… To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this month’s New Moon, click here.

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 23-27 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 2:32pm and 11:06pm (on Monday, July 17th); and then again, 93 minutes later, between 12:39am (on Monday night/Tuesday very early morning, July 18th) and 2:32pm (on Wednesday, July 19th).

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on Twitter, as I post reminders on July 17, 18th, and 19th to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.

Monday at 4pm EDT, the Moon Nodes will switch from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra; they will remain in those signs until January 11th, 2025! The last time the Moon Nodes were in these particular signs was back in late December 2004 until June 2006.

The transiting Moon Nodes show us what our Soul’s Journey currently requires on the collective and personal levels — let’s take a closer look at what this means:

The goal of the collective Soul’s journey is to balance and integrate two apparently opposite energies: individual drives or goals (symbolized by Aries) and one-on-one relationships (linked to Libra).

We will thus need to look closely at the balance between “me” versus “the other” – and become more conscious about our wanting approval and any co-dependency with others.

Libra represents our desire to feel connected and see both sides of the coin by looking at contrast and comparison; in terms of balancing these energies, we need to learn how to be an individual who is free to explore and express themselves (Aries).

Collaboration might be just what we need to create a shift in finding our path and following our passions.

The Aries/Libra polarity directs our awareness to the roles we identify with in our various one-on-one relationships (business or personal). In particular, it asks us to focus on “inter-dependence” and become aware of our…. To read the whole article and get all the Coaching Questions for this 18-month Moon Node cycle, click here.

If you’d like more details on how the Moon Nodes’ movements impact you personally until January 2025, watch my webinar: “Our Soul’s Journey: Unveiling the Significance of the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra”

You can get access to this 115-minute webinar, right here, right now, normally it’s $37.00, but for the next five days (until July 22nd), it is available for the special price of only $33!

“Thanks Sonja for who you are and how you read the charts, and to everyone on the zoom mtg, cheers!” — Deb E.

I highly recommend watching this webinar! It is super informative! It will help you understand the lessons and meaning behind the transiting Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra and your individual journey in connection with relationships & self-identity over the next 18 months!

Monday late evening, at 11:06pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last an hour and a half, until 12:39am EDT (Tuesday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to remain open and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday late night ahead of time.

New Moon in Cancer — the article

On July 17th at 2:32pm EDT/7:32pm London time, the New Moon becomes exact in 25 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle.

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac, as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle amplifies feelings, instincts, and needs.

When we don’t heed that information, we become dependent on others for validation and direction, or lose ourselves in addictions and distractions.

With this New Moon occurring in protective, introverted Cancer, we are invited to surround ourselves with quality and safety; we can expect anything connected to home, family, real estate, or childhood issues to be heightened in our awareness for the next four weeks.

This New Moon highlights the importance of listening to our feelings, focusing on Self-care, healing old wounds from the past, and releasing unhealthy patterns that keep us stuck in the past.

Cancer is all about supporting and protecting life, but many of us are conditioned to ignore our own bodies and our environment — along with our inner life, feeling-bodies, and emotional/spiritual connection to other life forms.

This creates a disconnect not only from our true selves but also from the rest of the world. Many of us tend to put little value on emotional intelligence, but it’s very hard to have meaningful, authentic connections without it — and it begins with self-connection and self-awareness.

Ask yourself: What might I do differently if my feelings were just little children that wanted to be heard? What price might I be paying for denying or suppressing their little voices?

Cancer reminds us that water and life are inseparable. Water corresponds with feelings: both must flow. Stagnant water breeds disease and suppressed emotions can likewise make us ill.

Ask yourself: Could I simply allow myself to feel my feelings without needing to understand them? Without needing to know why I am feeling what I am feeling? Without launching into problem-solving? If nothing else, could I try this out as an experiment, just to see what might transpire?

And here’s a bonus question: What would the healthy mother-archetype do?

The Cancer energy is connected to family and home (this could be a physical or emotional “home”). Given this, a shift with past issues around feeling “at home”, “safe”,  or “nurtured”– both internally and in the world — might move to the forefront in the next couple of weeks.

Internally, this is about being more rooted in our physical-emotional bodies, and allowing ourselves to explore and celebrate the mother-archetype both within and without — things like giving and receiving nurturing, caring for ourselves in terms of our emotional and physical state, and so on.

Ask yourself: Am I rooted in fertile ground? Am I thriving? What else do I need to flourish and grow? What has changed for me in the past 3 years in that regard? How does Self-care show up in my life now vs. then?

Now, let’s talk about some of the aspects of this New Moon chart:

The New Moon in Cancer makes a Trine to Neptune in Pisces, an Opposition to Pluto in Capricorn, a Sextile to Uranus in Taurus, and a Square to an exalted Chiron in Aries. So let’s unwrap that…

The Trine to Neptune (currently in its Retrograde motion) supports an inner “flow state” and emotional connection to loved ones; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored with this combo. Our capacity for compassion is quite strong as well, both for ourselves and others, and we are feeling especially intuitive.

Ask yourself: When I tune into myself what do I feel connected to? What if I tune into life itself? What from my past is asking to be released? Where is it time to open myself up fully on an emotional level?

The Opposition to Pluto (currently in its Retrograde motion): we may take an all-or-nothing attitude toward others, this could drive some tension or oppositional behaviors, so as best you can, remain flexible, and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body.

As best as you can, trust what resonates, what rings true, what empowers and connects — rather than what agitates and polarizes.

Ask yourself: What is my motivation for achieving something out there in the world? How about at home? Where might the balance point be between home/family and career/long-term goals?

How might a deep focus on self-care or emotional authenticity serve me at this time? What needs to transform so I can feel more empowered?

It will also help to remain aware of whether we empower ourselves and/or others in our interactions — for example, taking things too personally is not recommended.

Ask yourself: How might a focus on nurturing myself feel empowering to myself and others?

The Sextile to Uranus provides an opportunity to connect with others and share a new vision about the Earth, physical matters such as finances, or a reinvention of how we connect with “the good things in life”.

Ask yourself: What if the whole Universe was intelligent? What if that included every cell in my body? What knowledge would my body want to share with me? How could I use these new ideas to support my emotional and physical well-being? What feels the most nurturing?

Before the talk about the Square to Chiron, let’s talk about the two exalted planets of this New Moon chart:

Venus in Leo & Chiron in Aries: we can expect to feel their energies more strongly until early August.

With Venus exalted, we are invited to pay even closer attention to what matters to us, our values, likes & dislikes, preferences, as well as how we spend or invest our money, what brings us joy, what doesn’t, and what’s important at this time (and whether we can express it). What or who do we love? What needs to change?

Venus comes to a halt and starts her 6-week Retrograde phase on July 22nd. Chiron comes to a halt and starts its 5-month Retrograde phase less than 12 hours later, on July 23rd.

We will cover Venus’ Retrograde phase in courageously heart-centered & self-expressed Leo in much more detail on Aug. 2nd, 2023 at 5pm EDT in our next Forecasting Forum. If you would like to know how the planet of (self-) love, relationships, and money matters is impacting you personally, feel free to join us.

We will look at our own birth charts, and I will take you through this process step by step, so you can understand the impact on your own life, even if you are not a seasoned Astrologer.

There will be an Early Bird registration fee for everyone who jumps in fast. That reduced fee is available until July 31st! (A 15% reduction from the regular fee). After July 31st the price goes up.

Now, let’s talk about the exalted Chiron in Aries: we are invited to pay even closer attention to the healing of the wounded masculine archetype within us — how we handle anger, impatience, our desire to dominate, be independent or “show our strength”, etc. (for example, perhaps it doesn’t feel ok to be that way, maybe even the thought brings up shame, and so on…)

Now, let’s talk about the New Moon’s Square to Chiron: This asks us to stretch ourselves. Our past conditioning and wounded sense of Self may be out of harmony; we are invited to make adjustments and, as best as we can, find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations.

Ask yourself: What if I gave myself permission to make space both for healing around my self-identity (in other words, for recognizing the limitations around my persona), and for taking care of home or family issues?

As best as you can, take this as an opportunity to make space for feeling vulnerable or emotional, without seeing yourself as weak or “less than”. It is perfectly ok to be yourself, and that may involve feeling insecure once in a while — so give compassion and love to yourself and others. After all, we are all human…

Ask yourself: Where does the wounded masculine cry out for my compassionate awareness (or even my love)? What if I gave it also to those who have not been able to model masculine energies in an “acceptable” way? What if I extended that even to myself, if and when I fall into that category? Even if I get triggered?

Remember: Anger can be a reaction to a boundary violation, and/or a cover for another emotion — often fear, sadness, or shame.

For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journeyI recommend watching: “Chiron in Aries — Healing the Wounded Masculine

Mercury’s Trine to Chiron in Aries gives us some support — it makes is easier for us to connect with others, socialize, and take a compassionate approach toward ourselves and others, especially when it comes to our identity, personal goals, and passions.

We feel more confident to connect and communicate without seeing ourselves as weak or “less than”. We feel perfectly ok to be ourselves, and that may involve feeling insecure.

Ask yourself: Could I allow myself and others to be human? What if I talked about my flaws, idiosyncrasies, and insecurities? How might this support my own healing process? Someone else’s?

Mercury also squares Jupiter in Taurus. With this aspect, we may have to learn about our assumptions, our thinking processes and our social conditioning.

“Listening” might not be our strong suit at this time: we may want to share our personal thoughts and joy without limitations, and are thus inclined to exaggeration, often unintended.

Ask yourself: What if honoring my physical reality, helped me listen to myself 5% more? What might become possible with growing my own personal resources if I were 5% more aware of the assumptions I am making at any given moment? Or of my expectations? Am I expecting too much of myself? Too little?

Venus in Leo is also involved in a Yod aspect with Neptune & Pluto. A Yod consists of two Quincunxes — aspects that signal inner discomfort and the need for some adjustments.

Both Quincunxes are pointing towards Venus in Leo, making Venus the Focus of this aspect, so the adjustments in question must be made so we can value ourselves, and connect from an authentic, heart-felt place, even if it feels uncomfortable.

For the next 28 daysask yourself: What do I feel when I honor my heart? What do I need to express that is dear to my heart — even when fear is present? Even when I want to turn inwards or escape life? Even when it feels uncomfortable to do so?

How can I be courageous in my self-expression without dominating others? Could I permit myself to get in touch with my inner child — and allow myself to have some fun?

Could I refrain from getting attached to things going “my way”? What if “pride” was able to take a back seat? What if I focused on gratitude, giving compliments, connecting to my inner joy, and being playful instead?

Another thing worth mentioning with this New Moon chart: the Moon Nodes change signs only 90 minutes after the New Moon becomes exact (into Aries-Libra).

We covered this 18-month journey in our last Forecasting Forum, and you can get access to this 115-minute webinar, right here, right now, normally it’s $37.00, but for the next seven days (until July 22nd), it is available for the special price of only $33!

I highly recommend watching this webinar! It is super informative! It will help you understand the lessons and meaning behind the transiting Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra and your individual journey in connection with relationships & self-identity over the next 18 months!

The ongoing Moon Nodes’ Square to Pluto in Capricorn indicates that we are at a turning point — individually and collectively speaking! This is a huge opportunity to release past patterns that we’ve been carrying for decades — including those that span generations.

We may feel an obsession (or tremendous passion) for career achievements and economic autonomy — but also out of control or fearful about our economic future.

Ask yourself: What am I most scared about regarding my standing in society or my long-term achievements? Do I have concerns about authority figures? My own authority in the world?

Where do I feel “out of control”? Where am I trying too hard to self-protect or control an outcome? What if I surrendered all my fears and trusted the divine power within?

Am I ready for some profound changes? Where am I looking to create more empowerment in my life? What about the lives of others? What needs to happen so I can shift my current situation? What role does “trust” play in all of this? Am I allowing myself to hear the deepest calling of my Soul?

Pluto always invites us to integrate the opposite sign it’s in for balance and true empowerment. While in Capricorn, that balance comes from nurturing, protective, introverted, home & family-oriented Cancer.

We are invited to empower ourselves at home, with loved ones, and by focusing on self-care and whatever feels nurturing to our inner baby.

This is an invitation to balance our obsessions around an empowered career with our focus on getting plenty of rest, healthy nourishment, and affection.

Ask yourself: What would a powerful approach to self-care look like at home? With family? Elsewhere?

How might nurturing myself support my self-connection? My connection to others? The world at large? How might it support my career ambitions? What if self-care was the first step toward meaningful achievement?

The term “self-soothing” resonates beautifully here. Ask yourself: What does self-soothing mean to me? What would that look like? How could I nurture myself to the point that I am at once connected to others and yet completely independent?

Mars — the ruler of Aries, currently moving through Virgo — opposes Saturn in Pisces (currently in its Retrograde motion). We are invited to live in moderation now — but this may be frustrating, as we face tests or trials that remind us that pushing too hard or fast doesn’t always get us the results we want. It’s time to slow down a little and catch our breath.

Ask yourself: What would it look like if I took things one step at a time? What is the reality of a situation that I find myself in? Does it serve me, in the long run, to try and figure it all out in advance? To have all the answers? To do it all perfectly? What emotional and spiritual toll might that take on me?

To sum it all up: this New Moon reminds us that to be a “successful human being” we must take really good care of our emotional and physical well-being.

If we can allow the inner masculine (taking action, being assertive, etc.) to protect and co-create with the feminine (allowing for feelings to move through, receiving, etc.), we will go further than we can imagine. It is very important to allow ourselves extra time to rest, release, and recalibrate.

Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn — in their retrograde motion — provide inner emphasis for clearing out any old trauma and conditioning from our childhood, past lives, and ancestral patterning.

For the next four weeks, as best as you can, allow yourself to release (Neptune) & transform (Pluto). The more you do, the deeper will go your sense of inner peace, wholeness, and creative power.

Ask yourself: Could I allow myself to go deeper and tap into my “true inner power” (the one that allows me to keep my heart open)? One that allows me to see that all things — the good, the bad, and the ugly — ultimately are part of the creative process, a part of my personal evolution.

Now more than ever, the world actually needs people that know how to nurture themselves, people who honor their feeling-body, who have a healthy center, and who follow their inner compass! Ask yourself: Would I rather feel safe or grow as an individual?

Also feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

I talked about my upcoming Forecasting Forum about the Venus Retrograde phase in Leo which will give you some insight into where you are looking at relationship, financial or self-worth issues right now.

I also talked about my Chiron webinar: Healing the Wounded Masculine, and my Moon Nodes webinar: Our Soul’s Journey: Unveiling the Significance of the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra .
