This week’s headline items: Mercury’s Shadow phase ends early Monday. Pluto’s Station phase finally ends on Tuesday, though Pluto continues in retrograde motion until October; the first Quarter Moon in Leo becomes exact Wednesday morning; Mercury changes signs, moving from Aries to Taurus on Wednesday afternoon; Mars and the North Node align in Aries late Sunday evening.
There will be four Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week, one of them unusually long: Monday early morning (for almost 1.5 hours), Wednesday early afternoon (almost 5 hours), Saturday early morning (a little over 1 hour), and Sunday late morning (almost 31 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, May 13th:
Monday is a big day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 6:36am EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, and our feelings are thus more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-care is key!
Emotional safety is also important to us; we like connecting to the familiar and enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance.
Make sure, though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, or you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Monday around 4:19am EDT,Mercury ends its post-Shadow phase, as it reaches 27º11′ of Aries.
As you may recall, 2.5 weeks ago, on April 25th, when Mercury ended its Retrograde phase, I mentioned the Mercury Shadow phases as well: If you want to buy, sell, or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the periods shortly before Mercury goes retrograde and after Mercury goes direct.
This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.)
The good news is the Shadow phase ends today (Monday). This means that we can finally go ahead and book those plane tickets — or buy that new car or iPhone (or anything else communication- or transportation-related).
Monday early morning at 5:13am EDT, we enter a brief Moon VoC that will last for almost 1.5 hours, until 6:36am EDT. Use this intuitive time to be in a state of “flow” and emotional connection to others; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored at this time.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday early morning ahead of time.
Monday early morning, a Sun/Uranus alignment in 22 degrees of Taurus becomes exact at 5:14am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday morning(May 10th) on; it will remain strong until Thursdaymorning (May 16th). This alignment brings confidence and a desire to connect with others through a common cause or similar values.
This is an invitation to radically revise our relationship to the physical plane — from a major reassessment of our core values and sense of worth to how we deal with our money, resources, and the beautiful planet on which we live.
A spiritual shift and a shift in our thinking and perceiving are required — individually speaking and on a collective level! We may have sudden insights into the value of our friendships or networks and how they connect us to a bigger vision.
We seek to move to the next level on the physical plane and must strategize and collaborate with others.
Ask yourself: Where would a new mindset help? What needs to be shaken up? Where do I need to think outside the box and try something radically different?
How might my body inform that shift? How might the planet itself be my guide to shifting my perspectives? My physical frequency?
We are also asked to connect to the unusual. Our creative core is awakened: We feel compelled to express ourselves in unique (or at least unconventional) ways.
Our consciousness expands, and we are receptive to new ways of thinking, doing, and living — this increased openness to all that is enjoyable and different may bring unexpected opportunities.
Uranus symbolizes the desire for freedom, equality, and progress. Uranus in Taurus aligned with the Sun asks us to break away from whatever keeps us from honoring ourselves.
It’s time to develop some awareness: What’s mine? What isn’t? What if it were ok to have a different outlook from others? What about different values?
One thing to remember: Keeping the heart and mind open could make a big difference to the experience of this alignment.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-25 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Monday at 6:36am EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-lovingLeo, where it will journey until Wednesday early evening. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness …
So hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, and tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things… be honest and authentic as best you can.
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days.
What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the upcoming first Quarter Moon (exact on Wednesday morning).
Monday afternoon, an opportune Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 3:45pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday evening(May 11th) on; it will remain strong until Wednesday earlymorning (May 15th). This aspect gives us an opportunity to bring a sense of realism to our relationships, values, and financial affairs: we are more able to see what really needs to be dealt with in those areas and take responsibility for our handling of them.
We have a chance to combine a physical enjoyment of life with heart-centered realism and maturity. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to “take” it.
On a financial level, we have an opportunity to see more clearly when and how we might make long-term investments.
There’s no need to rush anything — instead, tune into your intuitive side and think things through carefully and responsibly — do your “due diligence” and stay open-hearted.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-20 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra, or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

This week’s headline items: Pluto remains exalted, and Mercury continues to move through its post-Shadow phase all week; a New Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Tuesday evening — and it’s time to begin acting on our New Moon Intentions on Sunday.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday (begins very early morning and lasts until 5:42pm EDT), Wednesday early evening (for almost 1.5 hours), and Friday late evening (roughly 1.5 hours).
Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, May 6th:
Monday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoC until 5:42pm EDT. Life is an adventure; we’re more open to new ideas and have great enthusiasm for new projects.
Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly and act immediately. Use this intuitive time to actively connect with others and share yourself.
Monday early evening at 5:42pm EDT, the Moon moves intosteady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words, change is not our favorite thing, and “rushing things” goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses.
Monday late evening, a Mercury/Chiron alignment in 21º of Aries becomes except at 10:27pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday morning(May 2nd) on; it will remain strong until Fridaylate morning (May 10th). Due to Mercury’s Retrograde phase, we are experiencing this aspect for the third time in 7 weeks.
Think back to March 20th and April 15th, and ask yourself: What did I discover about my human identity or drives at that time? How did I engage with my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being?
Did I experience any triggers? What was I able to communicate about myself and my sensitivities? Was there anything I was not able to share?
This alignment allows us to communicate our flaws, insecurities, and sensitivities and thereby begin to heal them.
Bringing compassion to our past wounds and current sensitivities feels soothing, empowering, and healing; doing the same for others is going to feel really good. Remember: what you can do for yourself, you can do for others more easily, and vice versa.
As best as you can, whatever you do or don’t communicate, cut yourself a little slack. Be open to bringing love and understanding to your communications — especially when you are feeling triggered.
Remember: Our past wounding (and ancestral wounding) makes us more sensitive to certain things, and that is why we get triggered
Being human means being “imperfect”; there is no shame in that. Our so-called imperfections open hearts and create and spread compassion, which is precisely what heals everyone’s wounding and sensitivities, including our own.
Ask yourself: Could I give myself 5% more permission to be “imperfect”? Could I acknowledge my sensitivities that stem from past wounding? Could I love myself because of those so-called imperfections and sensitivities?
Double-check: Does blaming or judging myself for being “imperfect” or “overly sensitive” actually serve me? How about when I do that to others? Who is served when I do this?
Could I be open to the possibility that my “imperfections” and sensitivities — whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual — exist to serve not only my personal evolution but also that of humanity? If that were true, what else would need re-evaluating?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo or Gemini (since Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

Back to the New Moon:
This New Moon sextilesSaturn in Pisces (almost exact), then we have a line-up in Taurus, starting with Venus (in the sign she rules) followed by the Sun & Moon, then Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus — which brings a huge emphasis to the Taurean-energy.
Venus still makes a wide Square to an exalted Retrograde Pluto in Aquarius at the time of the New Moon (this started when she entered Taurus on April 29th).
Neptune, in a late degree of Pisces, and Mars, in an early degree of Aries, makes a wide Sextile to the exalted Pluto. Mars is also approaching a conjunction with the North Node in Aries (exact on May 19th).
We also have semi-Square between Saturn and Pluto that is worth mentioning, and Mercury is making its final pass over Chiron in Aries — the first of three passes was on March 20th, the second one during Mercury’s Retrograde phase on April 15th, and the third and last one is exact on May 6th, only 24 hours before the New Moon becomes exact!
Mercury is still in its post-Shadow phase until May 13th, asking us to review anything that has come up during the Mercury Retrograde phase (April 1st until the 25th).
So, as you can see, lots going on in this New Moon chart, collectively painting a complex picture with a focus on the balance of masculine and feminine energies.
Before we go into all of these aspects in more detail, however, let’s first talk about the sign of Taurus.
With 5 planetsin Taurus, we are feeling a strong need to focus on this earthy sign for the next 28 days:
Steady, peaceful Taurus places more focus on our interactions with the physical world — you could say that we seek a healthier relationship with “matter”, one in which we are neither too attached nor too disconnected from things on the physical plane — for example, our bodies, resources (such as money), and the planet we co-inhabit.
We are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the only planet we can currently live on — The Earth — and honor its resources and beauty.
How can we change our mindset about those earthly matters? What would the combination of a deep knowing and a deep-rooted sense of being at home in our body and the world feel like?
In much the same spirit, we are invited also to honor ourselves, our bodies, and our talents. This is a good time for reevaluating our relationship with money and possessions, and for discovering what truly makes us happy and fulfilled, so check in with yourself: What came to mind when you read or heard this? (maybe journal on this)
Let’s talk about some of the aspects in this New Moon chart, starting with the most exact one:
Taurus ultimately seeks to honor spirit in form, recognizing the physical world as an expression of the divine and the body as a sacred vehicle.
Pisces understands the paradox between physical and spiritual — between matter and energy.
As such, this aspect presents an opportunity to join our need for material comfort and enjoyment of life to a practice that supports a more intuitive approach. This is an opportunity to…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 16-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
This month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 11:22pm on May 7th, and11:22pm on May 9th. The only exception will be a 1.5-hour period on May 8th — there will be a brief Moon VoC between 5:55pm and 7:20pm — all of the above times are given in US East Coast time.
If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US-Eastern Daylight Savings Time), join my Facebook Page or follow me on Twitter/X. I will be posting reminders on May 7th, 8th, and 9th — to let you know that it’s the best time to set your intentions
Again, the New Moon conjuncts Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus. This brings more awareness and emphasis to the Jupiter-Uranus alignment that began earlier this year, was exact on April 20th, and is still strong until May 19th and in the same sign until May 25th!
We covered all the Houses in our birth charts, and the Jupiter-Uranus cycles over the past 14 years and the next 14 years to come! Great webinar; definitely watch it if you haven’t seen it yet!

This week’s headline items: Pluto remains exalted and Mercury remains in its post-Shadow phase all week. Do you have a Sun-sign or Rising-sign in Sagittarius or Aquarius? Planets or points/angles in 19-25º of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius?
Monday, the Moon remains inambitious, pragmatic, status-oriented Capricorn all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late morning. We tend to be more realistic, serious, and cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings a need for structure and planning; when you add the pragmatism this Moon placement supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation will become crucial.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do”
Monday at 7:31am EDT,Venus changes signs from independent, fast-paced Aries to sensual, steady Taurus, where she will journey until May 23rd.
For the next 3.5 weeks, we love receiving physical pleasures and comforts. Our relationships are centered around delicious foods, wine, and sensuality.
“Simple and natural” is key. Our financial issues and dealings are being carefully and lovingly considered, we are not easily persuaded to take risks, we’d rather spend our money on a massage or a good meal.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel even more attracted to physical pleasures and comfort for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want loyalty and consistency. Connecting to nature or anything simple and organic is going to feel especially comforting.
Monday late morning/early afternoon, we have an opportunity to focus on what’s subtle & essential and bring a sense of flow to our long-term goals or plans.
We are invited to practice a gentler, more intuitive approach, to go within, get in touch with our inner divinity, and bring peace and inner knowingness to our long-term commitments.
Ask yourself: Could I trust my inner knowing (or intuition) 5% more than I have previously? What spiritual practices could support me on this journey inward?
What resonates with my inner core? What is realistic and practical? What practices are sustainable for the long haul? What am I being asked to give up, so I can have a stronger connection to my inner guidance?(Moon in Capricorn sextiles Saturn in Pisces, exact at 11:28am EDT)
Monday evening, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations.
As best as you can, make space for looking into some alternative exercise programs or holistic approaches to your personal projects and current long-term commitments. Compassion is key!(Moonin Capricorn squares Chiron in Aries, exact at 6:49pm EDT)
Monday late evening, we are invited to connect with like-minded people and learn something new about our unique talents or value to the world. We are better able to connect to anything that involves a long-term commitment.
We perhaps might also implement revolutionary business practices or government programs that support our values and make life tangibly more enjoyable. (Moonin Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus, exact at 9:49pm EDT)

Monday morning, we may need to balance wanting harmony with others against wanting to be direct and share ourselves without apologies. (Moon in Libra opposes Mercury in Aries, exact at 8:10am EDT)
Monday afternoon, we become more aware that we need to find a balance between two very different energies — on the one hand, taking a compassionate approach towards our personal goals while being assertive in the world — and on the other hand, our need to connect and collaborate with others.
Ask yourself: What if taking a compassionate approach towards myself actually made for more fulfilling connections with others?(Moon in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries, exact at 3:54pm EDT)
Monday eveningcalls for some inner adjustments, as we feel uneasy or awkward and must make a choice.
Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, we want to innovate when it comes to what we value (ourselves included) — and maybe also have some financial breakthroughs; on the other hand, we feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships, supporting them — and perhaps collaborating. (Moon in Libra quincunxes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 7:18pm EDT)
Monday, 7:24pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 16 hours until 11:20am EDT (Tuesday late morning). Use this intuitive time to reexamine your various one-on-one relationships — ask yourself: How can I balance my need for connection and harmony with my desire for self-fulfillment and independence?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday evening ahead of time.
Soon after the Moon VoC begins, we need to make some more inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice, one that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges…
On the one hand, the urge to expand our perspective when it comes to material possibilities and beliefs about our talents & our own value in the world — and on the other hand, we feel the need to attend to our one-on-one relationships.
The key here is to have a balanced approach and allow for experimentation so we don’t drive ourselves or others crazy.(Moon in Libra quincunxes Jupiter in Taurus, exact at 7:58pm EDT)
Monday late evening, we are invited to make some more internal adjustments. We may want to connect with others, but may also need to become aware of our intuitive, more creative side. What do you feel/sense when you get really quiet? What actions are calling to you? (Moon in Libra quincunxes Mars in Pisces, exact at 11:51pm EDT)

Here are two testimonials from our participants after joining one of our recent Forums:
“Thank you over and over Sonja for your wisdom and help” — Cathy E.
Sonja’s passion is for connecting with people and helping them transform their lives. This led her to train as a life coach, in addition to her lifelong study of Astrology. With her Readings, her coaching and her Soul-Based Astrology Courses she aims to empower and support people in fulfilling their life’s potential and aligning with Soul Purpose.
On April 23rd, at 7:49pm EDT, the Moon opposes the Sun in 4 degrees of Scorpio. The entrance of the Moon into Scorpio earlier that same day begins the energetic build-up towards this powerful Full Moon.
The Moon, in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, opposes the Sun in steady, peaceful Taurus. This offers an opportunity for a deeper, more authentic connection with ourselves and others.
Eclipse Season ended on April 18th. We have now received our consciousness upgrades! Tune in for a moment: Do you feel any differently now than you did before March 15th?
Another thing to consider: on Oct. 28th, 2023, we had a Lunar Eclipse in 5 degrees of Taurus-Scorpio. Since this Full Moon is in a similar degree, check to see what has been coming up since then when it comes to facing your fears and valuing yourself and your authentic relationships with others.
Ask yourself: What inauthentic (or even toxic) relationships must I still release or transform to step into greater abundance and happiness? What fears must likewise be released or transformed?
This Full Moon will most likely stimulate our emotional body and increase our awareness of unconscious patterns and fears. We may feel more easily triggered as buried emotions, motivations, and fears surface. Please be aware of projections and jumping to conclusions.
If you are unsure whether you are projecting something on someone else, check for defensiveness, over-reactivity, or difficulty being objective while exhibiting rigid behaviors.
There are several aspects worth mentioning in this Full Moon chart:
Pluto (the ruler of Scorpio) is currently in Aquarius — and highly exalted — squares the Full Moon polarity in Scorpio–Taurus
Mars (the co-ruler of Scorpio), currently in Pisces, aligns with Neptune and sextiles the Jupiter-Uranus alignment in Taurus
Venus (the ruler of Taurus), currently in Aries, aligns with Chiron, and a highly exalted Mercury
A highly exalted Mercury in Aries aligns with the North Node and comes to a halt less than two days after the Full Moon becomes exact (on April 25th) — ending its 3-week Retrograde phase.
Last but not least, Saturn in Pisces semi-sextiles the Mercury-North Node alignment in Aries and semi-squares Pluto in Aquarius
We will cover all of that in a moment, but first…
For the next two weeks, we seek the balance and integration of two polarities and are aware that something needs to be brought into alignment; the balance in question is between our physical attachments, aversions, and connections — symbolized by Taurus— and our emotional attachments, aversions, and connections (Scorpio).
The time of the Full Moon brings greater awareness to what was unconscious or hidden previously. This particular one invites us to let go of fears or disempowering behaviors.
So, here’s this Full Moon’s central question: As a society, are we living in alignment with our values, with what makes us happy and satisfied?
How about as individuals? Do we feel empowered and emotionally fulfilled? Are there any fears that serve as obstacles on the path to progress? Or perhaps some rigid thought processes?
Let’s take a closer look atthe two signs involved in this Full Moon polarity…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you are more affected by this month’s powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse; the same is true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Again, Jupiter and Uranus only meet every 14 years. Their cycles correspond with beliefs in the ability to make progress in a particular area of life — sometimes leading to social upheaval. We may also see upheaval in the natural world, for example with floods, severe storms, tornados, and earthquakes. It’s all about “shaking things up” in general.

This week’s headline items: the first Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Monday afternoon; Mercury starts to slow down (station) again on Tuesday (preparing to end its 3-week Retrograde phase); on Thursday, Pluto starts to slow down as well – preparing for its yearly Retrograde phase — and “Eclipse Season” comes to an end. The Sun changes signs from Aries to Taurus late on Friday morning; finally, a powerful Jupiter-Uranus alignment in Taurus becomes exact late on Saturday evening.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday evening (for 3 hours), Thursday morning (for a little over 2 hours), and Saturday evening (for almost 3 hours).
I will have an interesting chat with the lovely Brian Westley Johnson about the upcoming Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus! **If you live in California, you can listen in via KMET Radio at 8am PT.
Monday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 10:24pm EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, and our feelings are thus more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-care is key!
Monday late morning, a Mercury/Chiron alignment in 20 degrees of Aries becomes exact at 11:23am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening (April. 11th) on; it will remain strong until Saturdaymorning (April 20th). Due to Mercury’s Retrograde phase we are experiencing this aspect for the second time within the last month.
Think back to March 20th, and ask yourself: What did I discover about my human identity at that time?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo or Gemini (since Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).
Monday afternoon at 3:13pm EDT,the first Quarter Moon in 26 degrees of Cancer becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect when the Moon entered Cancer on Saturday afternoon (April 13th). The Moon in protective, introverted Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in bold, fast-paced Aries.
Last week, on April 8th, saw a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Aries. If we set some intentions on April 10th, 11th, or 12th, we are now ready to make some adjustments.
This is a time to stretch and grow — and create some forward momentum — in fact, we may feel compelled to act, stirring up anxiety or overwhelm, so just go one breath at a time.
Remember, we’re still in Eclipse Seasonuntil April 18th and thus don’t have all the information we need to move brand-new projects forward yet. Allow for changes, remain flexible and adaptable, and find creative solutions in day-to-day interactions with others.
Allow also for new downloads and for the release of “old” codes and conditioning. Simply put: an open mind and heart will serve us best (that’s true in general, but especially true until Eclipse season ends.
Another thing to remember: if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic… allow it to be. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the “here and now”. Connect to your intuition and inner wisdom; they will help carry you through this period. We are receiving a consciousness upgrade — that’s a good thing!
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-28 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn, or Libra? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Monday evening at 7:22pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for 3 hours until 10:24pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to be in a state of “flow” and emotional connection to others; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored at this time.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday evening ahead of time.
Monday late evening at 10:24pm EDT., the Moon moves into fun and attention-lovingLeo, where it will journey until Thursday late morning.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday late evening (for almost 9 hours), Thursday morning (for almost 3 hours), and Saturday late morning (for 3 hours).

Monday, the Moon remains inpioneering, fast-paced Ariesall day. It will journey there until Tuesday morning. Life is an adventure; we’re more open to new ideas and have great enthusiasm for new projects.
Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly and act immediately.
Monday at 2:21pm EDT, a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse becomes exact at 19.5º of Aries. This launches a new Moon and Eclipse cycle.
As we remain in Eclipse Season until April 18th, the coming weeks could offer some tailwinds that carry us to significant breakthroughs; we are invited to learn how to be conscious creators, mindful of how our thinking and choices affect our personal and collective experiences.
As best you can, trust that whatever is leaving is making space for something better — the more willing we are to change, the easier it will be.
Stay grounded and flexible — and don’t jump the gun for the next 2-3 weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to observe the urge — unless it is connected to something that happens organically — if you are ambivalent about taking an action, better hold off until Eclipse Season ends on April 18th.
Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that occur approximately every six months. This Eclipse cycle will be in effect until March 2025; this is the first Solar Eclipse of this year and the second in Aries in this Eclipse cycle. ==> You may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.
The first Solar Eclipse in Aries (connected to the current Eclipse cycle) occurred on April 20th, 2023. What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity since then? Where are you asked to get out of your comfort zone? Has this been a humbling experience so far?
During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.
This will be the third of three Super New Moons in a row, and as some of you already know, SuperMoons occur when the Moon is at its closest distance to the Earth (at the time of a New Moon or Full Moon) and are more powerful. This means greater awareness of the issues connected to the particular New Moon energy.
Total Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. The Moon will completely cover the Sun.
This Total Eclipse will be visible in North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. It will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. The first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast.
No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally. Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings.
We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Spring of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?
For more guidance on those questions, it is best to take a look at our Natal Charts — the House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which area of life is the readiest to embrace a healthy sense of Self and rise to a new level of consciousness around independence and forging our path, gently and holistically.
Feel free to watch my webinar “Eclipse Season & the Mercury Retrograde” to see how the Eclipses impact your birth chart. You can get this 95-minute webinar here.

Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to integrate and understand better about ourselves over the next six months until the next Solar Eclipse (Oct. 2nd, 2024) — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.
Setting Intentions for Solar Eclipses differs from a regular New Moon! So stay tuned!
Since Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º… so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 19º24’ of Aries:
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-25 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)
Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 6-month Eclipse cycle rather than just the next 28 days.
Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. This is because we are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are pretty intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions — that said, it’s best to avoid setting them during a Moon void of course.
Given all this, here are the best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse: Between 2:21pm on Wednesday, April 10th, and 6:04am on Thursday, April 11th. Then again, from 8:59am on April 11th until 2:21pm on Friday, April 12th. Note that all times above are given in US Eastern Time — i.e., the New York time zone.
Set powerful intentions — remember, they cover the next six months — and if possible, align them with the Aries energy!
If you live in a timezone other than EDT and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and following me on X (Twitter), as I post reminders on those platforms when it’s time to set your intentions.
Monday afternoon, a Sun/Chiron alignment in 19.5 degrees of Aries becomes exact at 2:28pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday morning (April 5th) on; it will remain strong until Thursday evening (April 11th). This gives us an opportunity to heal insecurities or shame through conscious awareness.
Becoming aware of old wounds or limitations is the first step toward healing them. Bringing compassion, self-acceptance, and love to them is the second. Together, steps one and two make for a beautiful healing experience. Feel free to also read my article on Chiron in Aries.
It will help to stay grounded — connected to the Earth and your body. If waves of anger or frustration come up, let them, and simply observe the waves.
Ask yourself: Am I the “wave” or am I more than that? As best as you can, allow all “waves” to wash ashore, and allow yourself to rest as the vastness that you are (just like the ocean is to the waves).
I recorded this in-depth exploration of Chiron in Aries for an Astrology Conference in Dec. 2022 (BDTB6) — now available on my website at a discounted price: click here to learn more.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-23 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will be more aware of this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).
Monday at 10:39pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 9 hours until 7:23am EDT (Tuesday morning). If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to actively connect with others and share yourself.
What if you got in touch with your passion for life just for these 9 hours? What if you could inspire others just by sharing something you feel passionate about?
That said, Mercury is still in its Retrograde phase, so you may want to reflect first before taking action.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday late evening until Tuesday morning ahead of time.

This week’s headline items: Mercury comes to a halt on Monday evening, starting its 3-week Retrograde phase; the last Quarter Moon becomes exact late Monday evening; Venus changes signs from Pisces to Aries very early Friday; the Balsamic Moon phase begins later on Friday morning; on Saturday, Mercury ends its Station phase — remaining in Retrograde motion — and Sunday is the last day before the Solar Eclipse becomes exact!
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning (for 3.5 hours), Thursday night/Friday very early morning (for 5.5 hours), and Sunday early morning (for 3 hours).
Before we get to this week’s Forecast, I invite you to take a quick look at this:
Would you like to know more about Eclipse Season and what to expect until April 18th? How about the first full Mercury Retrograde phase in Aries — which begins on April 1st and lasts until April 25th?
Monday, the Moon remains in ambitious, pragmatic, status-oriented Capricorn all day. It will journey there until Wednesday morning.
Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do”
Monday evening at 6:14pm EDT, Mercury comes to a halt at 27º of Aries to start its first full Retrograde phase of the year, slowing things down tremendously until April 3rd!
Give yourself extra time to go to work or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you’ll get there… eventually. The same is true when it comes to all our technological devices…
With Mercury being Retrograde, its energy feels stronger inside of us, helping us recognize what is out of alignment and pointing to how we can begin realigning ourselves with the outside world, starting from within.
We can ask ourselves: Where do I need to walk my own path? Where does that path seem to be heading? How is my relationship with myself going? How does all this relate to my personal goals? What needs to be reorganized? Reconsidered?
Between now and April 25th, we have an opportunity to re-evaluate ourselves and how we show up in the world, connect to an inner source of courage, and get clear about our passions and goals.
This is also a chance to readdress anything from the past that felt out of alignment — with ourselves and what we desire — and is now ready to be cleared or changed.
Take time to investigate your own thought processes: What feels too busy to me? What if I got really clear about that? If I were 5% more honest with myself about my desires and what excites me, what truths would I uncover?
For the next 3 weeks, we get a chance to connect with our inner dialog, connecting from within to see where we need to be more aware of what we are thinking and communicating. Watch out for being too impulsive or aggressive.
This Retrograde phase will end on April 25th (reaching 16º01’ of Aries at that time). People worry about Mercury retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one’s life during these times.
As mentioned above, certain things may take longer — but a retrograde gives us a chance to resolve things that have been keeping us from being in alignment with the outer world — especially things that came up since March 18th (when Mercury entered its pre-Shadow phase).
We are ready to reconsider, reinvestigate, or recommunicate connections, thoughts, or conversations initiated since March 18th. Ask yourself: What has come up in my life aroundnew beginnings, things I feel passionate about, and walking my path?
What still needs my attention or reconsideration? Am I still aligned with what I initiated? Where do I need to get further out of my comfort zone?
We may also get to reorganize any data accumulated over the last three months since the last Mercury Retrograde phase (that ended on Jan. 1st, 2024). It’s time to rethink, retool, and release what is no longer in alignment.
During a Mercury Retrograde phase, read the small print, re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something), or ask another person for a second opinion…
During these periods, it’s best to be aware of any details we might have overlooked, check in with our intuition, and stay open to renegotiation or adjustments down the line!
In general, Mercury Retrograde is an excellent time for re-evaluating and re-organizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 2 weeks before the start of the retrograde) — but it’s true of our lives in general: we can reach a more precise understanding as to what works and what doesn’t, and what needs to change.
Reconnecting with “old” friends, clients, neighbors, entrepreneurs, colleagues, and family members (especially siblings) is also favored at this time …
Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this is also experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning — and use the spell-checker
Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart? Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life — which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?
If you are familiar with your natal chart — take a look at your natal Mercury and where Aries lands in your chart to see how this might play out for you.
As with any retrograde, some of us will be more affected than others, depending on how it interacts with our personal chart.
If you have your Ascendant, Career Point, or any personal planets in 14-29 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn, you will be more affected by this particular Retrograde phase. This is also true for those of us who have a Gemini or Virgo Sun- or Rising-sign (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).
Monday late evening at 11:15pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in almost 13º of Capricorn becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Capricorn on Sunday night. The Moon in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in pioneering, fast-paced Aries.
This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed — and what needs to be changed.
This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon in Aries, which is also a Solar Eclipse (on April 8th). With this last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us to take a look at what was started around the time of the last Eclipse cycle — in this case, around Oct. 14th, 2023.
We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What — if anything — needs last-minute adjustments? What have you discovered since Oct. 14th? What did it mean for you?
As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up between yourself and others — and for any internal conflicts.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-15 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra, or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this month’s last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

The path of the Eclipsecontinues from Mexico, entering the United States in Texas, and traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the Total Solar Eclipse.
The Eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. It will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We are bound to experience a release and recalibration of some sort because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded– and for this Eclipse, this is especially true in connection with our relationship to our human identity and our sense of agency in the world — in other words, how capable we feel to get things done.
This begins with our role in our interactions with others, whether we can be direct about our personal goals and passions and inspire others to follow our example.
Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to integrate and understand better about ourselves over the next six months until the next Solar Eclipse (Oct. 2nd, 2024) — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this video/article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.

This week’s headline items: a powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Libra becomes exact on Monday very early morning, and on Thursday, Mercury starts to slow down (station) — preparing for its Retrograde phase in Aries.
Please note: Daylight Savings Time begins in the U.K. and Europe very early on Sunday.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday evening (for almost 10 hours), Friday late morning (for a little over 4 hours), and Sunday evening (for 4 hours).
Before we get to this week’s Forecast, you can still…
Monday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day. It will journey there until Wednesday early morning. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time as we seek the approval of others.
Monday very early morning, at 3am EDT, the Moon in 5 degrees Libra opposes the Sun in Aries. This powerful Full Moon is a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse (the most subtle kind of Lunar Eclipses).
It can be viewed in parts of Antarctica, the western half of Africa, western Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, North and South America, the Pacific Ocean, Japan, and the eastern half of Australia.
It lasts for approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes, so we can expect to sense the influence of this Lunar Eclipse for four months and twenty days. Our physical and emotional bodies strongly feel the intensity of it all, so keep in mind that Eclipses ultimately support a shift in consciousness and thus bring us closer to our Soul’s path.
During a Lunar Eclipse, the Full Moon slowly dims as it passes through the Earth’s shadow, stimulating our emotional body and increasing our awareness of unconscious patterns and fears. This means we may feel more easily triggered as buried emotions, motivations, and fears surface. Beware of projections and jumping to conclusions.
This particular Lunar Eclipse is the first of two Eclipses within two weeks; it offers an opportunity for a more balanced connection to life and others.
If you are unsure whether you are projecting something on someone else, check for defensiveness, overreactivity, or difficulty being objective while exhibiting rigid behaviors.
Eclipse Season started on March 15th and lasts until April 18th (that’s 10 days after the Solar Eclipse in Aries that follows this Lunar Eclipse).
So the questions here are: What am I aware of? What will I choose? Where will I focus my mind? My Heart? What might become possible if I got 5% more comfortable with being in transition?
Eclipses are always powerfully connected to the Moon Nodes and thus to our Soul’s Journey (collectively and individually).
This is the first South Node Lunar Eclipse in Librasince the Moon Nodes shifted into the Aries-Libra polarity in July of last year — highlighting issues around relationship dynamics (“me” vs. “we”) and assertion vs. collaboration.
The Moon Nodes usually remain in any particular polarity for 18 months. They return to the same polarity every 18-19 years.
All Eclipses transmit new energetic codes and transformative downloads symbolized by the signs involved.
The North Node in Aries emphasizes the necessity of a healthy connection with oneself — with our passions, personal goals, active pursuits, and our current independent path.
The South Node in Libra extends an invitation to create a more balanced connection between ourselves, others, and life — and to take a closer look at any dependency issues with others.
There was a Full Moon in 5º of Libra in March of 2005 when the Moon Nodes were in the Aries-Libra polarity as they are right now. However, the Moon Nodes were too far away from the Full Moon polarity for it to be an Eclipse, so the last time we had a South Node Lunar Eclipse in Libra was in April 1987.
Think back to that time — if you are old enough to remember: What needed to change about your relationship with yourself and with others?
There are several aspects worth mentioning in this Full Moon-Lunar Eclipse chart:
The Moon in Libra not only opposes the Sun but also Chiron in Aries, and it trines Pluto in Aquarius
Venus, the ruler of Libra, is currently in Pisces, closely aligned with Saturn and in a wide conjunction with Neptune in Pisces
The Venus-Saturn alignment in Pisces sextiles the Jupiter-Uranus alignment in Taurus
Venus also quincunxes the South Node in Libra
Mars, the ruler of Aries, is currently in an early degree of Pisces and makes a semi-sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, as well as a wide conjunction to Saturn in Pisces
Mercury entered its pre-Shadow phase @16º of Aries on March 18th and will begin to slow down (station) @26/27º of Aries on March 28th, starting its 3.5-week Retrograde phase on April 1st!
We will address all of these aspects in a moment — but first, let’s take a look at the Libra-Aries polarity:
The Libra-Aries polarity highlights the spiritual dance between various polarities:
* individual drives/goals and one-on-one relationships
* masculine and feminine (in their ideal versions)
* independence and collaboration
Whether we are single or partnered up, we are all in a relationship with someone — any one-on-one relationship counts here — business, personal, health-related, etc.
