This week’s headline items: a New Moon in Capricorn becomes exact late Monday afternoon/early evening; Venus changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces late on Thursday evening; a second Mars-Pluto opposition in Leo-Aquarius becomes exact on Thursday night. Starting on Saturday, we can begin to take action on our New Moon Intentions.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning (for almost 6 hours), Thursday late evening (for almost 11 hours), and Sunday late morning (for 4.5 hours).

Monday, December 30th:
Monday, the Moon remains in ambitious, realistic and goal-oriented Capricorn all day; it will journey there until Wednesday early morning. We tend to be more realistic, serious, and cautious, which can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges, requiring structure and planning. When you add the pragmatism this Moon placement supports, you can see how this could be a productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes even more important to us.
As best as you can during this time, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do.”
Monday at 5:27pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Capricorn, launching a new Moon cycle. Not only is this the second New Moon within a calendar month, it is also this year’s 2nd New Moon in Capricorn; the first was on Jan. 11th.
New Moons are good times to reflect on our lives and set new intentions. This is an excellent time to go within and plant a seed for anything we would like to accomplish over the next 28 days and beyond.
Since this New Moon will take place only 30 hours before the New Year begins, this year’s New Year’s resolutions will be particularly powerful! As long as you don’t make them during the Moon void of course…

With the New Moon occurring in Capricorn, we are directed to investigate our relationship with authority, not just “authority” in the external sense, but also our “own authority”.

The highest vibration of Capricorn is self-mastery: the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, setting realistic goals, and healthy boundaries. So, the next 28 days are perfect for working on these areas.
Since Capricorn represents the quest for self-mastery on the physical plane, some helpful questions you can ask yourself include:
What is my relationship to self-mastery? Am I going about things in a realistic way? What does “setting healthy boundaries” look like to me? How realistic am I about my limitations? Other people’s?

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 7-12 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for the month’s Moon cycle — the perfect time is after the New Moon becomes exact (but not during a Moon void of course). You can also set your New Year’s resolutions at that time.
So this month, there are two best and most potent times to set intentions — the first would be any time between 5:27pm on Monday evening, Dec. 30th and 1:02am on Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning, Jan. 1st — and the second would be between 5:50am and 5:27pm on Wednesday, Jan. 1st (EST/New York time).
