On May 16th at 1:20pm EDT, Jupiter changes signs from independent, direct, fast-moving Aries to peaceful, steady, sensual Taurus. It journeys through this earthy sign until May 25th, 2024.

In our natal chart, the position of Jupiter reveals how we express generosity and tolerance and how we go about trusting others and improving our lives. On the whole, Jupiter is about expansion, possibilities, perspectives, and our mental & spiritual growth.

Ask yourself: Where do I look for wisdom and understanding? Where do I need movement and spaciousness? Where do I hold perspectives or beliefs that come from my social conditioning? Where do I feel optimistic and have faith that things will turn out ok?

Since Jupiter represents the principle of expansion — it operates like a magnifying glass. It’s been in Aries since May 2022 (except for November and December 2022). During its time in Aries, the magnifying glass sought more opportunities for our passions and for walking our path.

We may also have wanted to contribute to life from an enthusiastic, independent, and self-generative place. This might have created a shift in attitude towards our “human persona” or how we experience interacting with others — or perhaps around fearlessly fulfilling our desires.

On the other hand, Jupiter in Taurus brings the magnifying lens to bear on our personal resources, material comforts, and the enjoyment of the physical and material parts of life. The opportunity now is to bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to the fulfillment of our comforts — and to get excited about beauty, nature, and financial abundance.

This one-year transit also fosters expanding our connection to the physical realm (our body, planet, money) — and then to steadily bring that energy to the world. It helps us to have faith in our ability to create abundance, as well as allow ourselves to feel abundant no matter what our bank account looks like. This last part may not necessarily always be a good thing…

Again, Jupiter will be in Taurus until May 25th, 2024. During this time, we attract good fortune when we are down-to-earth, patient, and sensual — cultivating self-love and self-honoring with an optimistic attitude. Bringing a new perspective toward physical pleasures (such as food, touch, smells, sounds, and taking in natural beauty) will create the feeling of abundance that we are seeking.

We value what’s good in life, and it will serve us to believe in our talents, worth, and ability to attract success.

We are each particularly invited to go for things that are worth our time, look for quality vs. quantity, and to explore investing in things that bring greater abundance and physical comforts into our lives. Possibilities are strong for tremendous creativity, practical hands-on projects, and recognition of our ability to positively influence our personal resources.

We also likely develop far more faith in our ability to receive and create. An influx of our finances, self-love, and our innate talents can all bring us great pleasure and a sense of self-worth. We feel optimistic and generous with our talents and resources — but we also have strong morals around those things.

All this is especially true if you are a Sagittarius or Taurus Sun- or Rising-sign. As a Sagittarius, you will feel a greater need to connect with nature and experience peace — let’s hope that doesn’t show up as resistance towards life or others.
