Important to Express Ourselves — Forecast for Aug. 17th – 23rd

This week’s headline items: Retrograde Uranus in Taurus is still moving slower in the sky (aka stationing) until Aug. 30th; the New Moon in Leo becomes exact on Tuesday late evening; Mercury changes signs from Leo to Virgo late Wednesday evening; on Thursday, Mars starts to slow down (aka “station”), in preparation for its Retrograde phase; the Sun changes signs from Leo to Virgo on Saturday late morning… and from Sunday morning on, it’s time to start taking actions on our New Moon Intentions.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Wednesday very early morning (for almost 3 hours), Thursday late evening (a little over 5.5 hours), and Sunday very, very early morning (almost 6 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Aug. 17th:

Monday, the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer. It will journey there until 1:38am EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next few hours, if you are awake at that time 😉

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.

Monday very early morning, a harmonious Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 1:29am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last week, Friday evening (Aug. 14th) on; it will be strong until this Tuesday evening. This aspect helps us clarify our goals. We act from our courageous, passionate thinking, and a place of joy; we love to be generous, and a playful attitude is also supported.

We are quick, perceptive and brave; interestingly, one of the things we easily perceive is the weaknesses of others. Our minds are more optimistic, so it’s important that we stay realistic. We are expressive; we have lively conversations in which we speak our truth without compromise and yet without coming across as too blunt or offensive — on the other hand, our passion might mean we come across as rather impatient.

We seem to “download” great insights (and make superb decisions) at the very last minute — and the good news is, we can easily turn those insights into workable projects.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 21-27 degrees of Leo, Aries, Sagittarius? If so, you may feel more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)

Monday at 1:38am EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday early morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives — and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated 🙂

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it? This Moon placement starts the build up towards the New Moon (exact Tuesday late evening).

Monday late morning, a Sun/Mercury alignment in a little over 24 degrees of Leo becomes exact at 11:07am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Friday evening (Aug. 14th) on, it will remain strong until this Thursday evening. When the Sun and Mercury come together, we are especially sharp, communicative, and open. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks — we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.

In general, we have a strong need to take an active role in communications — it is very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now has impact, so as best as you can, choose your words wisely. If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?

We may be particularly busy/scattered during this time; it may not always be of service to us to take on too much: Choose wisely. Remember that Mercury is still retrograde: Communicate from intuition and make sure that you hear everything that is being said. It could also be that an issue from July 12th is coming up again and needs to be re-addressed…

Empower Yourself & Others — Forecast for August 10th-16th

This week’s headline items: the last Quarter Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Tuesday early afternoon; on Saturday late morning, Uranus comes to a halt and begins its 5-month Retrograde phase, and the Balsamic Moon phase begins as well.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Wednesday early morning (for almost 6 hours), Friday morning (for a little over 12 hours), and Sunday evening (for a little over 5.5 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Aug. 10th:

Monday, the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day. It will journey there until Wednesday morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.

In other words: change is not our favorite thing and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses 😉 This Moon placement starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact Tuesday early afternoon).

Monday morning, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 8:52am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday evening (Aug 8th) on; and it will remain strong until this Tuesday evening. This aspect creates some tension in our lives; we may feel anxious or stressed by a situation involving financial stability, personal creativity, or self-expression.

We’ll likely want to think outside the box. We may also want to make some changes to a life situation or heart connection that no longer fits. Again: We are being called to play a bigger game and may feel overwhelmed by what it all means.

Our minds may prefer things to be joyful, fun, playful, and expressive — but at the same time we feel a great desire for progress and breakthroughs. The tension between these two desires could leave us feeling irritable, mainly because we also tend to take things quite personally right now; the best way to manage this is to channel some of that nervous irritable energy into constructive pursuits.

Since there’s a tendency right now to challenge established thought, or play devil’s advocate, it also helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Use your breath to turn any fear into excitement — and let yourself drop into your heart.

Expect the unexpected, plan on disruption, revelation and breakthroughs — during this transit, the best mind is an open mind. As best as you can, go with the flow, staying open to the new and unexpectedly different. Could you allow whatever is happening to stimulate new approaches?

As you can perhaps imagine, this is not a time to make major decisions, especially if they are hasty 😉 You can think of this as “reorganizing” time for the mind, like moving your furniture around.  If you feel yourself resisting the reshuffle, do your best to relax — and maybe even sit back and enjoy the show.

And as always, if all else fails, take it one moment at a time… Rather than jumping to conclusions, get grounded in the here and now — bringing awareness to your breath (or body) is a good way to do this.

Reclaim Yourself! — Forecast for August 3rd – 9th

This week’s headline items: the Full Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Monday early afternoon; Mercury changes signs from Cancer to Leo on Tuesday evening; Venus aligns with the North Node in Gemini on Wednesday late morning, changes signs from Gemini to Cancer on Friday late morning, and (on Friday evening) moves over the Solar Eclipse degree from June 21st. Last but not least: Uranus’s Station phase intensifies on Sunday.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday early evening (for almost 5 hours), Friday late morning (for a brief 12 minutes), and Sunday afternoon (for a little over 5.5 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, Aug. 3rd:

Monday is a big day (astrologically speaking): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Monday at 12pm EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in almost 12 degrees of Aquarius. The Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun in fun-loving, expressive Leo. If you are already a Member of my online community, you can click here to watch my video about this Full Moon 😉

Uranus in Taurus (the modern ruler of Aquarius), is exalted at the time of this Full Moon, due to its station phase (it is preparing to go retrograde.) Uranus also squares the Full Moon polarity of Aquarius-Leo, while Mars in Aries squares the Jupiter/Pluto alignment in Capricorn at the time of the Full Moon. These are the major themes of this Full Moon chart and we will address them in detail in a moment.

The Moon in Aquarius opposes the Sun in Leo; this highlights the power of our individual creativity and the exponential potency of collaboration. Each of us is invited to reclaim ourselves, and add our voice, heart, and hands to something that has meaning for us.

The invitation here is to dare to be different, and to remember how we are all part of a larger whole. The highest quest of Leo leads to authentic Self-expression: to embody our gifts, shine our light, and live our truth. The highest task of Aquarius, on the other hand, is the attainment of unity in diversity, where everyone’s uniqueness is honored and included.

When we align our head with our heart, we feel our interconnection with all of humanity, and we create and connect from love instead of fear. Given that Leo represents our individual self-expression and Aquarius our vision for humankind, a question is raised: How can we best achieve a balance between these two energies? Or perhaps even an integration?

For the next two weeks, we’ll be looking for answers to this question, as we might become more aware that something is out of alignment.

Even the brightest of Full Moons has a shadow side — so let’s take a look at the shadow of both signs involved in this Full Moon — and please note that the shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or easy to embrace.

As always with shadow aspects of ourselves, we need to beware of getting triggered and jumping to conclusions; we need to make sure we take time to respond rather than react.

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 10-14 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Monday early evening, a Mercury/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 5:00pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Saturday evening on; and it will remain strong until this Wednesday morning. This aspect might bring some misunderstandings or feelings of restriction. We may bring a pessimistic attitude to our life goals and find ourselves in emotional conflict with others. In other words, we might experience communication problems.

It can appear that others are not especially sympathetic to our needs. However, it is important that we examine how we are communicating with others and take responsibility for how our choice of words lands for others. As best as you can, find your inner balance so you can speak from a kind, nurturing, and truthful place — while remaining committed to your long-term goals.

We are also called to examine our inner dialog for familiar, rigid or negative thought patterns that have been holding us back. We are ridding ourselves of projects that no longer serve us, learning to cut out the fluff so we can focus on the important. It’s better right now to reassess and perfect our commitments, rather than present them — first, let’s check to see if they align with what feels nurturing.

Fact is, we are most likely harder on ourselves regarding our long-term commitments at this time. We also tend to worry about what others think of us. Getting objective feedback from others is key! Though we crave it, we may have a harder time wholeheartedly receiving support from others — as best as you can, acknowledge others (and yourself) for doing their best, whether via writing or saying it out loud 😉

Think back to mid-January 2020, when Mercury was aligned with (conjunct) Saturn in Capricorn. What thoughts got planted back then? Where have you been learning about (or even building) something long-term? What commitments did you make at that time?

As you develop more awareness of what you have (and haven’t) learned since then, ask these follow-up questions: Do I like what I see? Is there more room for integration? What if I were 5% more self-responsible with my thinking and conditioning? What if, just for today, I brought 5% more emotional maturity to my commitments? What if I did the same with my “inner dialogue”?
