This week’s headline items: Venus remains exalted all week; Mars remains exalted until Saturday; Mercury starts to slow down (station) on Monday and intensifies its station at 9 degrees of Aries on Wednesday.
A powerful Full Moon-Lunar Eclipse in Virgo becomes exact Thursday night; Mercury comes to a halt very early on Saturday, starting its 3- week Retrograde phase; Mars ends its Station phase on Saturday (it remains direct), and Venus will end hers on Sunday (but continuing in Retrograde).
Daylight Savings Time has begun in the United States & Canada — and I will post all astrological alignments and planetary movements in EDT (US-Eastern Daylight Savings Time). Until March 30th, please consider this additional one-hour time difference when converting to your time zone.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday late afternoon (for almost 12 hours), Friday early afternoon (for a little over 1 hour), and Sunday early morning (for a little over 21.5 hours).

Monday, March 10th:
Monday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day; it will journey there until Wednesday very early morning. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising.
We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness… So, hand out some compliments — let people know how proud you are of them, and tell them how much you love them.
Come from the heart in this and all other things. Be honest and authentic as best you can. Fun, games, and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
Monday from 6am – 4:20pm EDT, we feel excited about life; if you are awake, things flow nicely, so connect with people that bring you joy. Since connecting with others from the heart and having fun feels easy, we might want to take advantage of that enthusiasm.
Venus is currently in retrograde, so it’s best to connect with people you already know. (Moon in Leotrines Mercury and Venus in Aries, exact at 9:56am & 12:21pm EDT)
Monday from 4:45pm – 10:45pm EDT, we have the opportunity to connect to others and start a new adventure or simply do something creative that gets us excited.
It is also an opportunity to see the bigger picture if we choose to, or perhaps shift our perspective by talking it through with someone else (Moon in Leo sextiles Jupiter in Gemini, exact at 7:46pm EDT).
Also on Monday, Mercury starts to slow down (station) at 8-9.5º of Aries — preparing to come to a halt on March 15th at 9.5º of Aries (when it will begin its first full Retrograde phase of the year). More on that later this week…
This station will last until March 21st, and we will feel Mercury’s energies more intensely during this time.
Pay attention to anything “in your face” in the following areas: short travels, adventures, personal goals, transportation, communication, and any associated technologies. You will get a chance to re-organize yourself once Mercury goes retrograde (after March 15th).
For the next 11 days, we need to be patient with ourselves and others. Going with the flow is recommended at this time. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, particularly if it contains new information connected to learning or exploring something new.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (for more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here).
Be extra patient if you intend to buy, sell, or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected to planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after April 25th, when the post-Shadow phase is over.

Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) or personal planets in 7-11 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn.

The entrance of the Moon into Virgo on March12th starts the energetic build-up towards this powerful Full Moon — if you are an active Member of my online community, you may also want to watch my video on the subject
This Full Moon is also a Total Lunar Eclipse; more about this below. Eclipses are extra powerful New and Full Moons, signaling significant endings and beginnings. They occur close to the same place in the zodiac every 19 years.
There are two Eclipse Seasons per year. They give us the opportunity to upgrade our energy, emotional, and mental bodies, together with our physical experience.
In 2025, we will encounter four Eclipses (two in March and two in September). These will be similar in sign and degree to the Eclipses in March and September of 2006.
This Eclipse Season started on Feb. 27th (at the time of the last New Moon) and lasts until April 21st (past the next Full Moon in Libra).
During this time, it’s important to stay grounded and flexible. Avoid rushing into decisions until April 21st.
If you feel a strong urge to take action, do your best to observe that urge unless it’s connected to something that arises naturally. If you are unsure about a potential action, waiting until Eclipse Season is over is best.
During a Lunar Eclipse, the Full Moon slowly dims as it passes through the Earth’s shadow; this stimulates our emotional body and increases our awareness of unconscious patterns and thought forms.
As noted above, this Full Moon is a Total Lunar Eclipse; these occur when the Moon moves entirely into the central, darkest part of the Earth’s shadow (also known as the “umbra”). During totality, the Moon can appear reddish-orange, earning these eclipses the ancient name of “Blood Moon“.
The Blood Moon may find us more easily triggered as buried emotions and/or fears surface. Please be alert for when you may be projecting psychologically and jumping to conclusions.
Our physical and emotional bodies strongly feel the intensity of it all, so it may help to remember that Eclipses ultimately support a shift in consciousness and thus bring us closer to our Soul’s path.
The entire Eclipsewill bevisible — and at its best — across most of the Americas (North and South), with glimpses for Europe, Africa, and East Asia. Totality lasts about an hour, so we can expect to sense the influence of this Lunar Eclipse for the next four weeks, until April 14th.
A Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries will follow on March 29th — the last one of its kind until 2042! I will be recording a video about this around March 21st/22nd — so watch out for that.
All Eclipses transmit new energetic codes and transformative downloads, symbolized by the signs involved.
This Total Eclipse takes place with the Moon in detail-oriented, practical, analytical Virgo and the Sun in creative, free-flowing, sensitive Pisces.
Eclipses are usually powerfully connected to the Moon Nodes and thus to our Soul’s Journey (collective and individual). The Moon Nodes started their journey through Pisces-Virgo on Jan. 11th, 2025, and they will remain there until July 26th, 2026!
On March 14th, we can ask ourselves: How far have we come since the last Eclipse Season that began in September of 2024? What can we see now that was not apparent then?
This Eclipse also constitutes a new collective Soul’s Journey, which emphasizes the balance between making more of an effort to trust our connection to the divine and our intuition, and our ability to discern what works and doesn’t work for us when it comes to our day-to-day well-being.
This powerful Full Moon also calls us to release or redefine our conditioned minds, our judgments of ourselves and others, and anything disconnected from our hearts.
We are encouraged to become more aware of our biases, approach anything we do not know or understand with compassion, and bring acceptance and unconditional love to our interactions with others.
With a new Eclipse cycle, this is a longer-term process — in this case, one that will last until February 2027.
Full Moons illuminate the truth and consequences of our choices. We become aware of what has been suppressed or ignored. This being a South Node Eclipse, we need to bring greater awareness to the Virgo energy.
We might want to ask ourselves: What has become toxic, unhealthy, or unmanageable in connection with my rational/scientific mind?
Here are the astrological highlights of this Lunar Eclipse chart:
The Sun aligns with Saturn, the North Node, and Neptune in Pisces
The Moon aligns with the South Node in Virgo and opposes Saturn, the North Node, and Neptune in Pisces, and trines Uranus in Taurus
The Sun/Saturn alignment trines an exalted Mars in Cancer and sextiles Uranus in Taurus
Mercury (the ruler of Virgo and the Lunar Eclipse) is highly exalted in Aries at the time of the Eclipse, coming to a halt only 24 hours after the Eclipse, starting its 3-week Retrograde phase
Mercury also aligns with an exalted Retrograde Venus in Aries and sextiles Jupiter in Gemini
Neptune (the ruler of Pisces) remains in an exalted degree until March 30th

The more an Eclipse activates our birth chart, the more we feel called to go to the next level. Because Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I tend to use a 4º orb instead of 2º — so since this Lunar Eclipse takes place in 24 degrees of Virgo-Pisces:
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-28 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? Monday, March 3rd:
Monday, the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoCuntil 5:37am EST. Until then, life is an adventure; we’re more open to new ideas and have great enthusiasm for new projects.
Monday at 4:04am EST, Mercury changes signs from creative, sensitivePisces to pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey for an unusually long time (due to its upcoming retrograde), until March 29th and then again from April 16th until May 10th.
During this time, our thinking speeds up, and we are eager for new endeavors. Given that we want to achieve our goals as quickly as possible, we may come off impulsive and impatient and must therefore speak (and get answers) faster.
Nothing stands in our way now: we are ready, we are brave, we want what we want, and we want it now!
As you can perhaps imagine, we need to watch out for blurting things out prematurely or inappropriately; as best you can, choose your words carefully and pause before responding.
Remember, everyone else is feeling the Aries energy quite strongly too, so do your best to not take it personally if someone ignores what you want, or says something insensitive.
Keep the focus on yourself instead — and take responsibility for how you are communicating or expressing yourself.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries? If so, you will feel especially chatty for the next 2 weeks. Your mental energy will be quite active and you feel the need to connect to others — whether it be in person, via email, over the phone, or via social media. New ideas and new connections are very likely.
Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign inGemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a tremendous energy burst for the next 9.5 weeks: really enthusiastic and physically strong.
Monday at 5:37am EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words, change is not our favorite thing, and “rushing things” goes against our grain. What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It’s probably slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses.
Monday at 6:55pm EST, Neptune reaches 29 degrees of Pisces, an exalted degree. Neptune made its first pass through Pisces between April and August 2011, and then after a brief retrograde, it returned to Pisces in February 2012, where it has remained ever since!
It’s now or never! We are strongly encouraged to let go of anything that hinders our intuitive connection with our Higher Self, and embrace a compassionate, heart-centered perspective on life that honors the interconnectivity of all things.
As Neptune moves through the last degree ofPisces (until March 30th), our understanding of interconnectedness will deepen even further.
The planet was in that final degree from May 3rd – Sept. 2nd, 2024; an exalted degree in its own sign. Very powerful indeed — the veil from this world to the next will become thinner, and our collective spiritual and emotional sides will need to evolve.

As best as you can during this time, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do.”

We are being asked to slow down and get quiet to listen to our inner sensing/intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. Stay grounded, take a deep breath, and exhale any tension as best as you can.
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.
This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Monday at 10:28pm EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for a little over 2 hours, until 12:40am EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to soften your need for accomplishment with a gentler, more intuitive approach.
As best as you can, take some breaks and allow the energy flow to show you the way.

New Moons mark the ending and beginning of a monthly cycle and are an optimal time to pause, reflect, and set new Intentions for the next 28 days.
Since this one occurs in Pisces, this New Moon invites us to connect with our inner divinity and ability to receive, trust our intuition, and contribute to life from a heart-centered and empathic place.
In this New Moon chart, we have two highly exalted planets, Venus and Mars, representing the feminine and masculine principles.
Mars is highly exalted due to its Station phase, as it nears the end of its 11-week Retrograde phase on Feb. 23rd (four days before the New Moon becomes exact).
With Mars highly exalted in Cancer, we feel more protective of our loved ones, homes, and feelings. We will be more aware of safety regarding achieving our goals.
Mars will make several harmonious aspects in this New Moon chart to the planets in Pisces. I will go into them in more detail below — but first:
With Venus so highly exalted, we are encouraged to pay closer attention to what truly matters to us, including our values, preferences, likes, and dislikes.

Monday, February 17th:
Monday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Librauntil 7:19pm EST. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic.
We are more polite now, as we seek the approval of others. We want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating.
Monday at 6:24pm EST, we enter a brief Moon VoC that will last for almost 1 hour, until 7:19pm EST. Use this intuitive time to connect with others about your vision for the future and see if collaboration could help you make progress.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday evening ahead of time.
Monday at 7:19pm EST, the Moon moves into deeply passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Thursday morning (Feb. 20th). Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us now; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as 100% dishonest.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. It does so through subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us.
This makes it an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits, or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
The Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”, etc. It can, therefore, be stormy — a cold winter storm or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies.
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others.
Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free.
Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others. This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact later today).
Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio — and it is currently transiting through Aquarius, making this a great time to transform our visions for humanity and our future on this planet, in this universe — and to empower ourselves and others within our communities (locally or online).
It’s also a great time to dig deeper into our various networks and connections to like-minded people, so, as best as you can, be authentic about your affiliations.
Does participation in your current groups or networks feel empowering or disempowering? Do I feel a deep emotional alignment with like-minded people in my life? Am I allowing myself to hear the deepest calling of my Soul?
Ask yourself: Where am I looking to create more empowerment in my life? What about the lives of others? How might a self-expressed and courageously heartfelt approach serve my communities and foster better collaborations?
Use this time to create deeper, more empowering emotional connections with like-minded people, especially if you are feeling a disconnect with other networks or affiliations out there in the world.
Remember: Love expands us, others, and life. Fear paralyzes!

Monday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Canceruntil 12:01pm EST. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, and our feelings are thus more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others.
Self-care is key until 12:01pm EST! Emotional safety is also important to us; we like connecting to the familiar and enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance.
Monday at 8:49am EST, we enter a Moon VoC that lasts for a little over 3 hours, until 12:01pm EST. Use this intuitive time to be in a state of “flow” and emotional connection to others; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored now.

Monday at12:01pm EST, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness …
So hand out some compliments—let people know how proud you are of them and how much you love them. In this, and in all things, come from the heart. Be honest and authentic as best you can.
Fun, games, and romance are also big parts of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s easier for the next two-and-a-half days.

Monday afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 2:28pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday evening(Feb. 8th) on; it will remain strong until Wednesdaymorning (Feb.12th).
This aspect creates tension in our lives; we may feel anxious or stressed by a situation involving financial stability, group affiliations, or long-term visions.
We’ll likely want to think outside the box and amend a life situation or vision that no longer fits. Again, we are being called to play a bigger game and may feel overwhelmed by what it all means.
Our minds may prefer things to be ideal — cool and calm, detached and rational — but at the same time, we feel a great desire for progress and even breakthroughs around our finances or our physical experience of life.
The tension between these two desires could leave us feeling irritable, mainly because we also tend to take things quite personally right now; the best way to manage this is to channel some of that nervous, irritable energy into constructive pursuits.
Since there’s a tendency right now to challenge established thought or play devil’s advocate, it also helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Use your breath to turn any fear into excitement — and let yourself visualize a bigger dream.
Expect the unexpected, and plan on disruption, revelation, and breakthroughs — during this transit, the best mind is an open mind. As best as you can, go with the flow, staying open to the new and unexpectedly different. Could you allow whatever is happening to stimulate new approaches?
As you can perhaps imagine, this is not a time to make major decisions, especially if they are hasty. You can think of this as “reorganizing” time for the mind, like moving your furniture around. If you feel yourself resisting the reshuffle, do your best to relax — and maybe even sit back and enjoy the show.
And as always, if all else fails, take it one moment at a time… Rather than jumping to conclusions, get grounded in the here and now — bringing awareness to your breath (or body) is a good way to do this.

Back to the Full Moon:
All Full Moons offer opportunities to see things in a new light and guide us away from polarization and division toward balance and integration.
This Full Moon chart has a big focus on the outer and social planets:
The Sun aligns with Mercury in Aquarius
The Moon in Leo opposes not only the Sun but also Mercury in Aquarius, and it also trines Chiron in Aries
Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius), currently in Taurus, is the focus point of a T-square to the Full Moon polarity (as well as Mercury), and it also trines the South Node in Virgo
Neptune aligns with the North Node in Pisces
Saturn (the traditional ruler of Aquarius), currently also in Pisces, trines an exalted Mars in Cancer
Mars is exalted due to its Station phase, as it is preparing to end its 11-week Retrograde phase on Feb. 23rd; and, besides the Trine to Saturn, it still squares Chiron in Aries
Venus begins to slow down the day after the Full Moon, preparing to start her Retrograde phase on March 1st
I will go into all of this in more detail in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Aquarius-Leo polarity:
Aquarius represents a unique vision and approach to life. The classic Aquarian vision is one of interconnected equality and belonging—paradoxically, we are also reminded that the power of unity lies in diversity. It is a contradictory sign.
On the other hand, Leo is all about our self-expression, creativity, and ability to connect to a courageous, innocent heart and inner joy. At its best, Leo signifies the quest to live from our center, our authentic core, our truth—with joy in our hearts.
As with all Full Moons, we are also invited to balance and integrate the two polarities involved — in this case, we are invited to allow head/intellect (Aquarius) and heart-expression (Leo) to merge, bringing about a brighter future for humankind — so askyourself:
What would it look like if I allowed that merger to go through? What if I chose, right here and now, to contribute to humanity from a courageous, heart-centered, and authentic place?
To develop a healthy relationship with our individual role in the collective, we need to keep an open mind, allow everyone (ourselves included) to be their unique selves, and then bring that unique spark to the collective experience.
And of course, there’s a shadow side to be discussed — the shadow of both signs involved in this Full Moon — and please note that the shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or easy to embrace.
Since Pluto is also in Aquarius the shadow side of Aquarius will be more visible and possibly even acted out by the collective. Aquarius’s shadow side might show up as…

Ensure you allocate time for family matters or home projects while also pursuing your passions and being your authentic self.

Monday late afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 4:52pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday evening(Feb. 1st) on; it will remain strong until Wednesdayevening (Feb. 5th). During this time, we are more optimistic.
We see the bigger picture, communicate more positively, and readily inspire others. This harmonious connection also strengthens our ability to connect and collaborate with others.
We tolerate other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease connecting with people from all walks of life. We might be drawn to exploring foreign languages, cultures, and countries — and learning about their daily interactions.
This aspect also fosters a “heady” and idealistic experience, focusing on big thinking and learning or sharing from a place of curiosity.
So, ask yourself:What are my expectations or attitudes in my various communities or networks? What new vantage point might show me how to communicate easily and without prejudice?

Monday late evening, a long-term, challenging Mars/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 9:44pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build fromJan. 25th on; it will remain within 3 degrees until April 6th — due to Mars’ Station phase, and changing directions on Feb. 23rd.
We experienced this aspect previously (Oct 8th-19th of last year); it asks us to heal and transcend triggers stemming from our past.
Think back to that time: What triggers stemming from childhood wounds showed up? Were you able to show compassion to your inner wounded child?
Those of us with personal planets (or our Ascendant) in 16-23 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn, or Libra will feel most affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars rules Aries).
Monday at10:33pm EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Thursday very early morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well.
In other words, change is not our favorite thing, and “rushing things” goes against our grain.What is our favorite thing for the next two days?

Monday, January 27th:
Monday, the Moon remains in ambitious, pragmatic, status-oriented Capricorn all day; it will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. We tend to be more realistic, serious, and cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings a need for structure and planning; when you add the pragmatism this Moon placement supports, you can see how this could be a productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation will become crucial.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do.”
Monday,theUranus Station intensifies in 23º of Taurus until Feb. 2nd. It will come to a complete halt on Thursday (Jan. 30th), ending its 5-month Retrograde phase (more about that on Thursday…).
What we discussed last Monday still applies: when an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced, sometimes causing discomfort.
We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy picks up speed again around Feb. 6th (when the station phase has ended).
Expect the unexpected. Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures and moving towards a new future — one that serves others as well as ourselves.
Its keyword is “Freedom”: this aspect provides an opportunity to discover how free we actually feel. So… how free do you feel?
Inner and outer freedoms will move to the forefront this week. We might have flashes of insight or new ideas about what must change.
What might this be for you? Where do you feel the desire to break free? If “Freedom” were inside of you, where might it be? Where have you denied yourself permission to be free? Unique? Simply yourself?
As best as you can, for the next 10 days, pull whatever is “in your face” even closer and take a good long look at it: our intuition will be very strong and deliver sudden insights and ideas, especially around what needs to change in our lives.

Uranus also rules electronics, technology, and the internet — so don’t be surprised by interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are likewise ruled by Uranus, so these will move more to the forefront of awareness.
As best as you can during this aspect, stay open and flexible, go with the flow — and pay attention to messages from the Universe.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you felt this Station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).
Monday at 9:53pm EST, Mercury changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking, objective Aquarius, where it will journey until Feb. 14th.
For the next 2.5 weeks, we tend to contradict others more quickly and offer a different perspective. We enjoy intellectual debates. We are quicker and more alert; our powers of observation are particularly strong.
We have something interesting to say, and our perspective on issues can be delightfully unusual and surprisingly insightful. This makes for some great conversations.
We are more attracted to scientific and/or metaphysical pursuits right now. Anything that promises progress and advancement for mankind has a special appeal.

The New Moon in Aquarius invites us to go out there and connect with “our people” — to find a tribe that resonates and perhaps also a cause that feels aligned with our values and our need for stability and comfort. This connection serves a larger vision for our financial future and the future of our planet, etc.
This New Moon occurs on the same day the Chinese New Year begins, marking the start of the Year of the Yin Wood Snake.
Chinese astrology divides the zodiac into 12 signs based on years rather than months. Each sign is represented by an animal, and the system also incorporates five elements — Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood — each expressed as either yin or yang. This results in 120 possible “years” (12 animals x 5 elements x 2 energetic expressions).
Therefore the last time we had the year of the Yin Wood Snake was in 1905.
The Snakesymbolizes wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation. The Year of the Snake is best approached with intuition, strategic insight, and intelligence.
The Wood elementrepresents growth, flexibility, and harmony. It is associated with spring, new beginnings, independent thinking, and innovation.
This is a “Yin” year, which signifies a more introspective and slower pace than a “Yang” year. Yin energy is associated with calmness, receptivity, and inward reflection, suggesting that we can expect a year focused on introspection, healing, and personal development.
Ask yourself: Where do I feel friction? Where is my focus? What simple actions will support me in moving forward the most? Could I get quiet, tune in, and receive the answers to those questions?
Returning to Western Astrology, we have two exalted planets in this New Moon chart: Uranus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, and innovation — and Jupiter — a giant planet most associated with expansion and growth.
Ask yourself: What in my life is asking for accelerated progress? Where do I need to grow beyond what I already know? What is there still to learn?
As Venus — the planet of self-love, relationships, and values — enters her pre-Shadow phase on January 28th, we begin a journey that will ultimately take us through some profound inner exploration.

The pre-Shadow phase starts just 23 hours before the New Moon becomes exact, offering us a chance to explore themes of love, self-worth, and relating in preparation for Venus’Retrograde cycle (March 1st – April 12th).

Here is what we will cover in connection with this New Moon:
A planetary Line-Up in Aquarius and Piscescreates a robust focus on those two signs. The Aquarian line-up includes Pluto (the energy of transformation and desire for empowerment), Mercury (the planets most associated with processing and distributing information as well as communicating), and the Sun and the Moon – our masculine and feminine sides (our yin and yang, our conscious and unconscious processes)
Saturn (the planet associated with building sustainable and realistic structures/habits) is the traditional ruler of Aquarius and is currently in Pisces.It is still in a Square aspect to Jupiter in Gemini — due to Jupiter’s Station and Retrograde phases, we have been aware of this challenging aspect since Nov. 26th of last year.
Saturn is also part of a planetary Line-up in Pisces, followed by Venus, Neptune (the energy associated with unconditional love, Oneness, and the dissolver of boundaries), and the North Node (our current Soul direction).
With all this, we are asked to be extra-mindful about our connections with other people. It invites us to contemplate how we impact everyone’s life around us — consciously or unconsciously, on purpose or by default.
We are also asked to bring integrity and maturity to our connections with others and our collaborations — and to choose Love over fear whenever possible.

Finally, let’s talk “New Moon Intentions”: The New Moon is the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact and not during a Moon void of Course phase.
That means that this month, thebest time and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 7:36am on Wednesday, Jan. 29th and 6:29am on Thursday, Jan. 30th. Then again from 5:52pm on Jan. 30th until 7:36am on Friday, Jan. 31st – (New York Time/US Eastern Time)
