On Dec. 15th, at 4:02am EST, the Full Moon becomes exact in almost 24 degrees of Gemini; the entrance of the Moon into Gemini on Friday afternoon (Dec. 13th) starts the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon.
Before I get into that, I just wanted to share that unfortunately my last Soulivity Today Show with Brian needed to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. I will let you know if and when we reschedule this episode.
I was going to discussed the perfect gifts for each sign on the show. But I also wrote an article on that same subject that you can read here or via your Membership portal.
**The next show will be on Jan. 3rd at 8am EST** We will discuss what to expect in 2025, so mark your calendar!
Now, back to the Full Moon:
The Moon in chatty, versatile Gemini opposes the Sun in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius. If you are already a Member of my online community, you can watch my Full Moon video for more details. If you are a Member of my online community, you can watch my Full Moon video here for more details.
Let’s start by looking at the highlights of this Full Moon:
*Four planets in this Full Moon chart are exalted due to their Station phases — making these planets’ energies a vital part of this Full Moon chart — we also discussed this in my recent “Mercury, Mars, Saturn & Neptune — All Exalted!” webinar.
**Star Members already have access to this (please check your inbox for the mp4-video recording of the Nov. 15th live event); for everyone else: go to my webinar page
- Neptune (our primary connection to universal love and intuitive knowing) remains exalted until Dec. 18th.
- Mars (our drive and self-assertion, physical energy, taking action, and going after what we desire) — exalted until Dec. 19th.
- Mercury (our ability to communicate, think, and share) starts its Station phase on Dec. 11th and will remain exalted until Dec. 20th
- Chiron (the wounded Healer) starts its Station phase several hours before the Full Moon becomes exact and will remain exalted until Jan. 10th, 2025 (we will talk about the exalted Chiron in Aries in more detail in our upcoming Forecasting Forum on Dec. 13th, and if you are reading this article after Dec. 13th, it will also be available on my webinar page).
*The Moon in Gemini not only opposes the Sun in Sagittarius but also aligns with Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) — which asks us to take a larger perspective when interacting with others and staying flexible and curious.
*The Full Moon squares an exalted Neptune in Pisces, which makes Neptune the Focus Point — asking us to calm our nervous system whenever possible by simply allowing ourselves to be still or quiet, even if it’s just for a moment.
*Saturn in Pisces also becomes the Focus Point of a T-Square, squaring Jupiter in Gemini and Mercury in Sagittarius — asking us to practice being present in the here and now and to be aware of the consequences when we are not prioritizing inner peace in our daily work and health routines.
*The Sun in Sagittarius quincunxes Uranus in Taurus — which invites us to make inner adjustments. Still, ultimately, it’s about honoring our differences and allowing ourselves to experience a shift internally so we can stay open and aligned with our unique, divine preferences.
*Mercury, the planet of communication, also known as the messenger (also the ruler of Gemini), not only trines an exalted Mars in Leo and the North Node in Aries, but it also squares Saturn, opposes Jupiter in Gemini (still in mutual reception with one another), and sextiles Venus in Aquarius.
Mercury’s not only involved in a multitude of aspects in this Full Moon chart but will also come to a halt only 12 hours after the Full Moon becomes exact at 6.5º of Sagittarius — ending its 3-week Retrograde phase that started on Nov. 25th at 22.5º of Sagittarius. As such, the planet of communication is highly exalted, and we are ready to move things forward.
*Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) not only opposes a highly exalted Mercury but also trines Venus in Aquarius — making Venus the Solution point for the Mercury-Jupiter opposition — asking us to connect with like-minded people that value our perspectives and opinions rather than trying to convince those who are not interested in being convinced.
I will go into all these aspects in more detail in a moment — but first:
Full Moons highlight each zodiac sign’s higher vibrations and denser shadow aspects. As our collective consciousness awakens, what has been hidden in the shadows moves into the light, allowing us to see it clearly and address it consciously.
This ultimately creates a more conscious society that can make more empowering choices for the future. However, it is essential to remember that…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-26 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this month’s Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

by Sonja Francis | Dec 5, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Birth Chart, Venus
The holidays are upon us and so it is fair to say that many of us are looking for great gifts for our loved ones.
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to write some notes on the subject by a journalist writing for New York Magazine. She wrote an article on the subject for The Strategist – a New York Magazine website. You can find her article here.
I was so inspired by this topic that I wrote my own article on it which you can read below…
If you have already completed all of your shoppings, or you do not celebrate, or you decided to not do gifts this year, feel free to read this article with someone’s birthday in mind.
___________
While the Sun sign is a useful starting point in astrology, it doesn’t usually provide the complete picture. Ideally, one should explore a bit deeper into the characteristics and signs of some of the other planets as well. I will go into that further towards the end of this article…
First, let’s explore the zodiac signs. The twelve signs can be divided into four groups:
- FIRE: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
- EARTH: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
- AIR: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
- WATER: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Fire signs enjoy a challenge and tend to be active. They are often drawn to warmth and excitement. The ideal gifts for Fire signs are experiences, such as tickets to a sports event or a trip to a warm destination. They typically favor red and orange colors, so consider gifts in those shades — think Mets color schemes rather than Yankees Blues.
Earth Signs are very practical and appreciate quality, functionality and tradition. You may need to spend more on an earth sign unless you find something modest that meets those criteria. Antiques might be the way to go here. They tend to favor green and earth-tone colors.
Air signs enjoy intellectual and visual stimulation or inspiration. They are more easily pleased with a gift that aligns with their ideas and ideals. They tend to prefer yellow and light colors.
Water signs are drawn to gifts that have emotional significance. They tend to be sentimental and appreciate items that provide a sense of safety. As a result, more expensive gifts can make them feel valued; an alternative is a creative gift that holds personal meaning. Water signs often have a preference for the colors blue and purple.
___________
Now, let’s look more closely at the individual signs:
♈ ARIES individuals would appreciate gifts that encourage physical activity, such as workout equipment, a bicycle, or a gift certificate to a sporting goods or yoga store. Being passionate and energetic, they might also enjoy an experience like a ticket to a Rage Room or a Laser Tag session.
♉ TAURUS appreciates practical and beautiful items that delight the senses — such as a luxurious pashmina, a cashmere sweater, fine wine, gorgeous flowers, and delicious food. Since Taurus people also like to use their hands, a pottery class or high-end gardening equipment could also be a good fit.
♊ GEMINI gets a kick out of multifunctional devices that excite their curiosity or are mentally stimulating. A digital device such as a Kindle or an iPad Pro or a paid yearly subscription to Chat GPT Plus might be just the thing. However, getting them a book or two so they can learn something new would be a delight for them as well; and since they are interested in a wide range of things, you can’t go too wrong, no matter what you pick.
♋ CANCER will get the warm-and-fuzzies if you gift them something sentimental or connected to their family or home. Something expensive like a Ralph Lauren vase for the living room will make this person feel safe and cherished; if that’s not in your budget this year, go for something emotionally meaningful, like a beautiful picture frame with a photo of their loved ones.
♌ LEO people love anything fun that allows them to express themselves, like Karaoke night, charades, a party in their honor, etc. You could also go for something beautiful that helps them shine, like an expensive candle or jewelry. First-row seats to a Broadway show would win their hearts, too.
♍ VIRGO appreciates something practical and functional that makes their life easier, improves their daily health or work routines, or drives order and neatness. You can’t go wrong with quality kitchen equipment, a desk organizer, or a journal. Nothing too flashy, Virgo’s are humble. Something in the health department, like herbal teas or remedies, might also hit the spot.
♎ LIBRA people adore something visually beautiful and are concerned with what others think about their gift. So make it something that their best friend or significant other will like just as much or, better yet, can enjoy with them — a candlelight dinner for two, a night out at an art gallery, season tickets to the ballet, etc. And if that’s too extravagant, anything elegant and beautiful will do.
♏ SCORPIO people want something emotionally meaningful and profound. Something that says, “I love you forever,” but without being showoff-ish, something authentic. This could be an intense-looking card with words of devotion, something sexy (preferably black or white), or something you both enjoy for the bedroom. Since Scorpios like investigations, a murder mystery book or an Escape Room event could also be a good match.
♐ SAGITTARIUS people love an adventure, whether physical or mental, so an experiential gift like a trip to an intriguing place is ideal — think along the lines of an odyssey on a sailboat to an exotic island, a visit to the Vatican, a roadtrip to the other side of the country… And if those are too time- or money-consuming, a book about a famous adventure will also satisfy (especially if it focuses on what the adventurer learned on the journey). The Wisdom of the Ages also brings a sparkle to a Sagittarius person, so a superb translation of the Tao Te Ching, Aristotle’s Poetics, or a book of Rumi’s poetry could also make great gifts.
♑ CAPRICORN likes something practical, high-end and good for business — and they’ve been known to go for “status symbols.” They will always appreciate a nice, expensive pen that writes like butter and is cold and smooth to the touch. An antique gold watch with an inscription showing how much you appreciate them for what they do and how hard they work will do the trick, as would a nice-looking notebook from Moleskine or a designer with cachet.
♒ AQUARIUS folks like something “a little different” — creative but off-kilter, perhaps even a little shocking — a psychedelic T-shirt of many colors, a once-in-a-lifetime hat, and so on. You might also consider something that stimulates their team spirit, especially if their team is set on making a difference. This doesn’t have to be an object; it could involve a fundraiser, rally, or event with like-minded people. Aquarians are the sign most likely to be interested in Astrology, so a gift certificate for a Birth Chart Reading, an Astrology course, or a book about their sign would be well-received.
♓ PISCES loves animals, creativity, and spirituality. You don’t need to splurge on this sign; instead, give them something that possesses a soft, gentle, or ethereal beauty. Pisces people usually love pastel colors, so if you get them tarot cards or angel cards, make sure the color tones are also angelic. Since Pisces is a water sign, they will likely be delighted with something they can use in the bathtub or at the beach. If you truly want to win their heart, get them a kitten or a puppy — and if that idea scares you, donate money to their favorite charity.
___________
I previously mentioned that a person’s astrology involves much more than just their Sun Sign. Discovering someone’s Rising Sign, Moon Sign, or Venus placement can help tremendously when selecting the perfect gift. Let me explain:
- The Ascendant or Rising Sign reflects a person’s identity and self-perception. It represents how they approach new beginnings and is their “best foot forward”.
- The Moon Sign indicates what someone needs or what feels familiar to them, it’s their emotional comfort zone.
- Venus Placement reveals what someone loves or values.
___________
To find out your own or someone else’s Ascendant, Moon Sign, or Venus placement — which can assist you in choosing a thoughtful gift — provide me with a birthplace, birthdate, and birth time (you can contact me via my “Contact-me” page) If you don’t have the precise time, don’t worry; I can work out your Venus placement and probably your Moon sign too.

Back to the New Moon:
New Moons are a great time to catch our breath, hit the pause button on our life, and set some intentions for the new Lunar cycle.
We will talk about the best and most potent time to set those Intentions towards the end of this article, so keep reading…
Lots to consider with this New Moon:
There are two exalted planets at the time of the New Moon: Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Leo (we also discussed this in our webinar: “Mercury, Mars, Saturn & Neptune — All Exalted!”
**Star Members already have access to this; for everyone else, click here
Mercury starts its 3-week Retrograde phase 5 days prior to the New Moon becoming exact (on Nov. 25th in the evening)
Mercury is all about communication, collecting & processing information, our inner dialog, and our decision-making process.
During the Retrograde phase, until Dec. 15th, we are invited to reevaluate and reorganize our thoughts and any information we have absorbed or received in the last three months.
Ask yourself: Did I make any significant decisions in the past three months? What are my perspectives on those decisions now? What needs to be reconsidered? What needs to shift?
==> We also talked about this in our most recent Soulivity Today Show from Nov. 8th (feel free to watch or re-watch that episode)
Here are some highlights in regards to aspects in this New Moon chart:
- This New Moon makes a wide conjunction with a Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius
- The New Moon trines an exalted Mars & the North Node in Aries, creating a Grand Fire Trine
- The New Moon squares Saturn in Pisces, and opposes its own ruler: Jupiter (currently in Gemini), creating a T-Square with Saturn as the Focal Point
- Jupiter opposes Retrograde Mercury and sextiles Chiron in Aries (Jupiter & Mercury are still in a mutual reception)
- Lastly, there are two more aspects in this New Moon chart: a Mars-Pluto opposition, and a Venus-Uranus Trine
More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s look at the wide Sun/Moon/Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius:
This combo urges us to re-examine our beliefs and their impact on our lives. It invites us to examine our direct experience, see what’s true now, and move forward only once we have…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 7-12 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 1:21am on Dec. 1st and 10:47am on Dec. 2nd; then again from 4:09pm (Dec. 2nd) until 1:21am on Dec. 3rd — New York Time/US Eastern Time
Note that there is a Moon void of course on Monday — it runs from 10:47am EST until 4:09pm EST. Don’t set your intentions during those 5.5 hours — instead, tune in and allow your intuition to connect to the powerful energies of this New Moon while you wait.
If you live outside the EST timezone (i.e. US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook Page, follow me on Twitter or Instagram. I will post reminders on Dec. 1st and 2nd to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

On Nov. 15th at 4:28pm EST, the Full Moon in 24 degrees of Taurus becomes exact. We start to feel this Lunation build from the moment the Moon enters Taurus on Wednesday night (Nov. 13th/14th).
If you are a Member of my online community, feel free to watch my video on the subject, here.
This is the fourth of four Super Full Moons in a row where the Moon is closer to the Earth, increasing its tidal and electromagnetic effects.
Before we start, just a gentle reminder that I have a Black Friday Pre-Sale coming up on Nov. 22nd, which will last until Nov. 28th (Thanksgiving Day) at 11:59pm EST.
Everyone can get a 44% discount for my Readings during that week, so definitely save those dates! And look out for the discount code! It will be available on my website on Nov. 22nd, and I will also send out reminder emails during that week 😉
All right, back to the Full Moon!
All Full Moons offer opportunities for us to see things in a new light — and they guide us away from polarization and division toward balance and integration.
Full Moons also illuminate the truth and consequences of our choices — and this particular Full Moon provides a double dose of that.
The Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in Taurus; not only that, but we are also dealing here with a Moon/Uranus alignment in Taurus — and with a highly exalted Saturn, who is coming to a halt on the day of the Full Moon to end its 4.5-month Retrograde phase. With Saturn’s direct turn, our responsibilities, what works and what doesn’t work for us, tend to magnify.
The Stationing Saturn is also the Focal Point a T-Square that involves Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Gemini! More about that in a moment.
You may recall that I talked a little about the Station phases component in the last New Moon video, and we will also address the exalted Saturn component in our next Forecasting Forum on Nov. 15th at 1pm EST/6pm GMT.
Feel free to join us, if you would like to know how Saturn’s Station direct phase will impact what comes next for you.
If you read this on or after Nov. 15th, you can also get the webinar: ”Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune — All Exalted! How can we handle this many exalted energies?” here.
That’s it for announcements and logistics; back to the Full Moon.
Let’s take a look at the Scorpio-Taurus polarity:
This Full Moon has a Taurus and a Scorpio component — Taurus spotlights our relationship to our physical body, what we value on the physical plane, and the planet we live on.
Scorpio highlights our relationship to emotional authenticity, intimacy/sexuality, empowerment/disempowerment, death/rebirth, endings/beginnings — Scorpio is asking us to recognize our deepest desires and truest motivations.
You can ask yourself with this Full Moon: What do I truly value? What deserves my attention, appreciation, and care?
Which of my values stem from social conditioning? What needs to change or be revised?
At its best, Scorpio is associated with transformation, and our capacity to shed what may have served us in the past but now hinders our growth.
We are indeed being asked to shed something in our life — a false belief, perhaps, or a “fake” identity or “way of being” — but it could also be a…

On Nov. 1st at 8:47am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle.
Before we get started, I just wanted to give everyone a head’s up:
I will have a Black Friday Pre-Sale that will start on Nov. 22nd and last until Nov. 28th at midnight EST!
All my readings will be 44% off during this time. If you are a Universal Member, this 44% discount will be applied to the already discounted price of 10% that you receive with your membership. For Star Members, the 44% discount will be applied to the 20% discount you already enjoy!
Mark your calendar, and check your emails for the discount code!
I’m also excited to announce another episode of the Soulivity Today Show! My segment is now titled “Hot Astrology with Sonja” — join Brian Westley Johnson and me for the live show on November 8th at 8 AM, when we’ll discuss November’s energies and how to prepare for the last Mercury Retrograde of the year!
Now, back to the New Moon:
The New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears. Feel free to also watch my video on the subject.
Eclipse season ended on October. 24th. Yay! Pluto & Jupiter are back to their normal speed. Yay!
Pluto has Stationed Direct on Oct. 11th already, so we feel more focused on accomplishing something real and empowering. We want to throw ourselves passionately at our long-term goals, creating wins wherever we can.
A couple of other things to note for this New Moon chart:
=> The New Moon in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces, asking us to be methodical and realistic when connecting with others intimately or when creating financial partnerships.
=> Pluto plays a crucial role: it is not only the modern ruler of Scorpio, but it is also still at the apex point of a Kite-configuration — which includes a Grand Water Trine, this time both of these configurations will be with Mercury (instead of Venus) in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces.
We saw a similar planetary combo in the last Super Full Moon chart on Oct. 17th. This invites us to be emotionally authentic, self-responsible, and aligned with what feels the most empowering to us — and bring all that to the world at large.
=> Mars (the traditional ruler of Scorpio) opposes Pluto, both at the last degree of their sign (29º Cancer-Capricorn)! An exalted degree!
This might bring some intensity to our interactions with others. We are invited here to take extra special care of ourselves and not let fear get the better of us!
=> Mercury, the messenger of the heavens, plays an important role in this New Moon chart as well, as it makes supportive aspects to both Pluto in Capricorn & Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces
=> Mercury also opposes Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.
This could create some anxiousness or a feeling of uncertainty. Focusing on what we want to create, rather than focusing on what we can’t predict, is crucial!
=> Venus squares Saturn in Pisces, opposes Jupiter in Gemini, and trines Chiron in Arieș; since Chiron also makes a sextile to Jupiter, it becomes the Solution point for the Venus-Jupiter opposition.
As you can see, there is a lot going on this month, yet again. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Scorpio energies…
Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.
Scorpio is also the sign most associated with the dark: the taboo, the subconscious, the unknown.
Our Shadow holds not only our fears, unresolved trauma, and less desirable qualities, but anything that has been repressed, including our: power, intuition, and other gifts.
Ask yourself: How might surrender, trust in a higher power, and letting go of resentment & fear give me a better understanding of peace, authentic connection, and inner strength?
Scorpio is associated with…

by Sonja Francis | Oct 10, 2024 | Astrology Articles, Full Moon, Mars, Pluto
On Oct. 17th, at 7:26am EDT, the Sun opposes the Moon in 24.5 degrees of Aries — the Moon’s entry into Aries on Oct. 15th starts the build-up towards this powerful Full Moon.
Generally, Full Moons bring our attention to our “emotional body”, increasing our awareness of what has been suppressed or ignored.
This is especially true for this particular Full Moon — since it is the third of four Super Full Moons in a row where the Moon is closer to the Earth, increasing its tidal and electromagnetic effects.
The Moon in pioneering, fast-paced Aries opposes the Sun in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra. If you are a site Member, you may also want to watch my video on the subject.
This is the first lunation in Aries — since the Moon Nodes transitioned into the Aries-Libra axis in 2023 — that is not an Eclipse. However, because this Full Moon comes after a Solar Eclipse, we are still in Eclipse Season. We will gain a better understanding of our relationships and partnerships after this Full Moon occurs.
The Moon in Aries aligns with Chiron, the Wounded Healer and makes an opportune aspect to an exalted Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter started its 4-months Retrograde phase on Oct. 9th and will be exalted until Oct. 23rd.
Pluto in Capricorn is exalted as well due to its Station phase at the time of the Full Moon (until Oct. 27th). It ended its 5-month Retrograde phase on October 11th (6 days before the Full Moon becomes exact).
Therefore, Pluto’s Station is intensified between Oct. 5th – 17th, and it will play a significant role in this Full Moon chart, as it is part of a Kite configuration and part of a Grand Cross!
The Kite configuration consists of a Grand Water Trine involving Mars in Cancer, Venus in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces, as well as two Sextiles, making Pluto the apex point of the Kite.
The Grand Cross will be in the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) involving the Moon, Chiron, Mars, the Sun & Pluto. This will create some stress all around.
More about all of this in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Full Moon polarity — in this case, the Aries/Libra polarity. This polarity directs our awareness to…

Forty-eight hours before and after an Eclipse, we are experiencing heavy energetic downloads, so it’s best to wait to set Solar Eclipse Intentions until these intense downloads are complete.
Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that take place approximately every six months — this is the second Solar Eclipse in 2024 (in this particular Eclipse cycle that will be in effect until March 2025). The first Solar Eclipse of 2024 took place in Aries on April 8th.
Think back to early April and see what seeds got planted in your life concerning the last Solar Eclipse. Did you set Solar Eclipse Intentions on April 10th, 11th or 12th? Did something end or begin at that time? What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity?
This is an Annular Solar Eclipse; this occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while the Moon is at or near its farthest point from Earth. Because of the distance to the Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not entirely cover the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring of light around the Moon.
The Solar Eclipse will be visible from the Pacific Ocean (starting in Hawaii), parts of South America, the South Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. It will be most visible over the ocean.
No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally.
We also addressed Eclipse Season and the Solar Eclipse in Libra in more detail in our webinar: “Eclipses: Our Soul’s Journey Continues”. If you missed this fantastic online event ==> click here to get this fabulous 111 min. webinar
The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during such times.
This is the second South Node Solar Eclipse in Libra since the Moon Nodes moved into the Aries-Libra polarity in July 2023.
Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings. They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign while the South Node was traveling through Libra was on October 3rd, 2005.
We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Fall of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?
A couple of things to note for this Solar Eclipse chart:
1) The New Moon not only aligns with the South Node but also with Mercury in Libra; it also makes a Square to Mars in Cancer (who is also the Focal Point of a T-Square), and it makes a Semi-sextile to its ruler: Venus.
2) Venus in Scorpio is part of a Grand Water Trine with Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer.
3) Jupiter in Gemini & Pluto in Capricorn have a potent role in this Eclipse chart, as they are both exalted (due to their Station phases), and they both make exact Sextiles to other celestial bodies: Pluto to Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter with Chiron in Aries.
Sextiles are 60º aspects that create an opportunity that requires action; we must take advantage of these opportune energy combos to reap the benefits.
These are the major themes of this Solar Eclipse chart, and we will address them in more detail. First, let’s talk a bit about Eclipses:
During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.
This particular Eclipse Season started on Sept. 2nd, with the New Moon in Virgo, and it will end after the Super Full Moon in Aries that follows this Solar Eclipse (in other words, by Oct. 24th, 2024).
While Eclipse Season is underway, allow for new templates to download, stay centered, and do your best to ground from within — try using conscious breathing and conscious mental flexibility — and best of all, see if you can move to the “observer position” when it comes to the emotional and mental body.
And remember, this won’t last forever: on Oct. 24th, the downloads are complete. It is important to remember that Eclipses open the door to the next level of our Soul’s evolution.
As best as you can, don’t jump the gun for the next four weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to simply observe the urge. The exception would be anything that happens organically, but if you are ambivalent about an action, it is better to hold off until Eclipse Season ends on Oct. 24th.
Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We will experience a release and recalibration because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded.
This Eclipse will connect this process to one-on-one relationships, ancestral patterns that no longer serve us, and whatever helps us take a balanced approach to life.
South Node Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to redefine or release over the next 5.5 months — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.
Since this Eclipse aligns with the South Node in Libra, it asks us to…

The more an Eclipse activates our birth chart, the more we feel impelled to go to the next level. Because Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º — so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 10 degrees of Libra:
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 5-15º of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 5.5-month Eclipse cycle, rather than just the next 28 days.
Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. We are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are quite intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions… We also definitely do not want to do this during a Moon void of course.
The best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse are between 2:45pm on Oct. 4th and 2:45pm on Oct. 6th — (in US Eastern Daylight Savings Time — i.e. the New York time zone).
Set powerful intentions — again, they cover the next 5.5 months — and if possible, align them with the Libra energy!
If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage, following me on Twitter or Instagram as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.

by Sonja Francis | Sep 10, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse
On Sept. 17th, at 10:34pm EDT, the Sun opposes the Moon in 25.5 degrees of Pisces.
All Full Moons are impressive sights, but this month’s will be especially noteworthy — it is a “Full Harvest SuperMoon“.
The entrance of the Moon into Pisces on Sept. 16th starts the energetic build-up towards this powerful Full Moon — if you are a Member of my online community, you may also want to watch my video on the subject here.
This is the second of four Super Full Moons in a row where the Moon is closer to the Earth, increasing its tidal and electromagnetic effects.
SuperMoons are 15% brighter than an average Full Moon and 30% brighter than when the Moon is at its farthest distance from the Earth. For more on the astronomy of SuperMoons, click here
In addition to being a slightly larger-than-average “SuperMoon,” this Full Moon will also be a partial Lunar Eclipse.
Eclipse Season started on Sept. 2nd (at the time of the last New Moon) and lasts until Oct. 24th (past the next Super Full Moon).
So the questions here are: What am I aware of? What will I choose? Where will I focus my mind? My Heart? What might become possible if I got 5% more comfortable with being in transition?
During a Lunar Eclipse, the Full Moon slowly dims as it passes through the Earth’s shadow, stimulating our emotional body and increasing our awareness of unconscious patterns and thought forms.
This means we may feel more easily triggered as buried emotions and fears surface. Please be aware of projections and jumping to conclusions.
Our physical and emotional bodies strongly feel the intensity of it all, so keep in mind that Eclipses ultimately support a shift in consciousness and thus bring us closer to our Soul’s path.
This partial Lunar Eclipse will be visible from most of North America, all of South America, Europe, all but the easternmost parts of Africa, western portions of Asia and Russia, and parts of Antarctica
It lasts approximately 1 hour, so we can expect to sense the influence of this Lunar Eclipse for the next four weeks.
This Lunar Eclipse is the first of two Eclipses within two weeks; it offers an opportunity for a more balanced connection between the head and the heart.
==>You can also join my next Forecasting Forum for more about the Eclipses. Live on Wednesday, Sept. 18th at 1pm EDT. The Early Bird Special ends on Sept. 16th at midnight EDT.
There are two Eclipse Seasons per year. They give us the opportunity to upgrade our energy, emotional, and mental bodies, together with our physical experience.
On Sept. 17th, we can ask ourselves: How far have we come since the last Eclipse Season that began in March 2024? What can we see now that was not apparent then?
All Eclipses transmit new energetic codes and transformative downloads, symbolized by the signs involved, in this case: The Moon is in creative, free-flowing, sensitive Pisces, while the Sun is in detail-oriented, practical, analytical Virgo.
Eclipses are usually powerfully connected to the Moon Nodes and thus to our Soul’s Journey (collectively and individually).
This Full Moon is the first Lunar Eclipse in the Pisces-Virgo polarity, and therefore provides a preview of what we can expect when the Moon Nodes start their journey through Pisces/Virgo — from Jan. 11th, 2025 until July 26th, 2026.
This constitutes a new collective Soul’s Journey, which emphasizes making more of an effort to trust our connection to the divine and our intuition, our ability to open our hearts and co-create with our higher Self.
This Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse also calls us to release or redefine our conditioned minds, judgments of ourselves and others, and anything disconnected from our hearts.
We are encouraged to become more aware of our biases, approach anything we do not know or understand with compassion, and bring acceptance and unconditional love to our interactions with others.
With a new Eclipse cycle, this is a longer-term process — in this case, one that will last until February 2027.
Full Moons illuminate the truth and consequences of our choices. We become aware of what has been suppressed or ignored. This being a North Node Eclipse, we need to…

On Sept. 2nd at 9:56pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 11 degrees of Virgo, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. We start to feel the effects of this New Moon the moment the Moon enters Virgo on Sunday night (Sept. 1st/2nd).
==> Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.
With this New Moon, we also enter Eclipse season! This will last until Oct. 24th. We will have a Lunar Eclipse on Sept. 17th and a Solar Eclipse on Oct. 2nd.
Eclipses ask us to recalibrate on the physical, mental, and emotional levels, which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.
Eclipse Season happens twice a year and it is usually an unpredictable time. Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical during Eclipse season!
Self-care is particularly important in times of stress and/or change — basic things, like making sure that we eat healthily and regularly, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest — and allow affection in from friends, family, or pets.
Anything brand-new (and I mean brand, brand-new) started during Eclipse season will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after the Full Moon that follows the last Eclipse.
If possible, defer any major brand-new projects until after October 24th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to be.

This New Moon features numerous aspects involving the outer planets: four aspects with Pluto in Capricorn, three with Neptune in Pisces, and three with exalted Uranus in Taurus.
This signifies an invitation to collectively shift consciousness. We are urged to work with these powerful energies for the benefit of ourselves and those we encounter.
All three of those planets are currently also in their Retrograde motion, inviting us to focus on making inner shifts and realigning ourselves with what no longer serves us.
Uranus is still stationing (exalted) until Sept. 13th; meanwhile, Neptune & Pluto are both in the last degree of their signs (29º), and thus exalted — their energies are “louder”.
Uranus is the loudest of the three, urging us to redefine our connection to the physical world and our self-worth; Neptune is asking us to trust our inner guidance and connection to Source-energy; finally, Pluto is asking us to reclaim our power, and live with purpose and a passion for life.
The Sun and the Moon in Virgo are part of a T-Square with Saturn and Jupiter. These are “social planets”, linked to our social and economic contracts, agreements, and dynamics.
And then we come to Mercury, the messenger, ruler of Virgo, also currently exalted. He is quite involved in this New Moon chart as well.
I will talk more about this in connection with the planetary aspects of this New Moon chart, but first, let’s look at the Virgo energy of this New Moon:
Virgo provides an opportunity to learn about being of service — and what it might mean to strengthen our focus on improving our daily routines — getting organized, for example — and taking care of health matters.
The highest vibration of Virgo is observation, discernment, and analysis from a neutral standpoint to determine what works and what doesn’t.
Ask yourself: Could I release judgment from my life (starting with self-judgment)? Could I instead take a deep breath and discern what works and what doesn’t? What might this look like if I stayed completely neutral?
This New Moon cycle will be a great time to…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.
So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 9:56pm Monday late evening (Sept. 2nd) and 9:56pm on Wednesday late evening, Sept. 4th (New York-time). The only exception will be a brief 6 minute period from 12:06 – 12:12pm on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.

Back to the New Moon! There are several planets of importance in this New Moon chart:
Chiron in Aries and Mercury in Virgo are both still exalted/stationing — we will feel their archetypical energies more strongly until Aug. 9th & 13th; Mercury will start its 3.5-week Retrograde phase less than 24 hours after the New Moon becomes exact.
We also have several planets in exalted degrees: Venus in Leo and Neptune in Pisces are both at 29º (the last degree of their signs), making a Quincunx-aspect to each other. Pluto will be at 0º of Aquarius, an exalted degree, and also in a Quincunx aspect to Venus.
Venus will also make a Square to Uranus in Taurus — so Venus, the archetype of love, self-worth, and relating, is sharply highlighted in this New Moon chart!
Regarding New Moon aspects, the New Moon in Leo sextiles Mars & Jupiter in Gemini, creating an opportunity for connection and sharing ourselves courageously and whole-heartedly.
More about all of that in a moment; first, let’s talk about the New Moon energies:
The New Moon in Leo highlights the power of our individual creativity; and makes our inner creative child and any physical children essential.
For the next 28 days, the New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted Leo has us looking for heartfelt experiences.
It’s important for us to express ourselves, learn about love, and in particular, learn how…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 10-15 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, or Scorpio? Or do your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer? This New Moon may impact you more than others.
And last, but definitely not least: the New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; the best time for the intention-setting process is soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
This month’s best and most potent time would be between 7:13am on August 4th and 11:16am on Aug. 5th. Then again, from 5:17pm on Aug. 5th until 7:13am on Aug. 6th. As always, all times are in EDT — the New York timezone.
If you live outside the EDT timezone and converting timezones isn’t your thing, I suggest my Facebook page or following me on Twitter, or Instagram I will post reminders on all of those platforms on August 4th, 5th, and 6th to let you know the best time to set your intentions.

On August 19th at 2:26pm EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 27 degrees of Aquarius. The Moon’s entry into Aquarius on Aug. 17th initiates the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon.
This is the first out of four SuperMoons in a row where the Moon is closer to the Earth, increasing its tidal and electromagnetic effects.
Oppositions always reflect back to the planets’ conjunction; we examine the progress made since that conjunction. For example, during a Full Moon, we look back to the previous New Moon (in this instance, Aug. 4th) to assess what has evolved since then

Here are the astrological highlights of this Full Moon chart:
- There are two T-squares in this Full Moon chart, and both rulers of the Full Moon (Uranus and Saturn) are involved!
- One of the T-squares involves the Full Moon polarity (Aquarius-Leo) with Uranus in Taurus as the Focal Point
- The other T-square involves Saturn in Pisces, Venus in Virgo, and the Jupiter-Mars alignment in Gemini as the Focal Point
- The Moon in Aquarius not only opposes the Sun in Leo but also a Retrograde Mercury
- The Moon also trines the Jupiter-Mars alignment in Gemini
- The Sun in Leo trines Chiron in Aries
- Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) is exalted at the time of the Full Moon – as it prepares for its yearly Retrograde phase that begins on Sept. 1st
- An exalted Uranus in Taurus sextiles Neptune in Pisces and trines Pluto in Aquarius
But first, let’s talk about the Full Moon polarity: the Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun & Mercury in fun-loving, expressive Leo.
This opposition highlights the power of our creativity as individuals and the exponential potency of collaboration. It invites us to reclaim ourselves and add our voice, heart, and hands to something meaningful.
Since Mercury is currently in retrograde motion, we may need to look back before we can move forward.
Mercury started its 3.5-week Retrograde on Aug. 5th (soon after the last New Moon in Leo). So rather than sharing something new, we may want to revisit what we created or discussed from July 17th to 21st, when Mercury moved through its pre-Shadow phase in Leo.
The invitation with this opposition is to dare to be different and to remember how we are all part of a larger whole. The highest quest of Leo leads to authentic Self-expression: to embody our gifts, shine our light, and live our truth.
The highest task of Aquarius, on the other hand, is the attainment of unity in diversity, where everyone’s uniqueness is honored and included.
When we align our heads with our hearts, we feel our interconnectedness with all of humanity and create and connect from love instead of fear.
Given that Leo represents our self-expression and Aquarius our vision for humankind, a question arises: How can we best balance these two energies? Or even integrate them?
We’ll seek answers to this question for the next two weeks, as we might become more aware that something is out of alignment.
All Full Moons have a shadow side — so let’s take a look at the shadow of both signs involved in this Full Moon — and please note that the shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or embrace
As always, with shadow aspects of ourselves, we need to beware of…

On July 21st, at 6:17am EDT, the Moon opposes the Sun at 29 degrees of Capricorn. An exalted degree! Not only is it in the last degree of the sign, it will also be the second of two Full Moons in this particular polarity! The first one was on June 21st at 1º of Capricorn-Cancer.
The entrance of the Moon into Capricorn on July 19th, starts the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon.

All Full Moons bring greater awareness to our current situation — what’s working and what we need to change. This Full Moon in Capricorn–Cancer asks us to pay special attention to how well we are balancing the demands of our outer and inner lives.
Lots of planets are involved in this Full Moon chart:
- The Moon in the last degree of Capricorn aligns with Pluto in an early degree of Aquarius
- The Moon sextiles Neptune in Pisces (exact), and so, of course, the Sun in Cancer, which is exactly opposite the Moon, makes a Trine to Neptune
- The Moon also trines Uranus in Taurus
- The Moon as well as Pluto trine Mars in a very early degree of Gemini
- Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, currently retrograde in Pisces, doesn’t make a lot of strong aspects in this Full Moon chart, but it is still within 10 degrees of Neptune and is starting from a Square with Jupiter in Gemini (which we will talk about in more detail in the next New Moon video)
- Some other aspects worth mentioning are: Mercury’s Square to Uranus (exact), and its Trine to an exalted Chiron in Aries
- Lastly, Venus in Leo sextiles Jupiter (almost exact) and trines the North Node in Aries
Again, this is the second of two Full Moons in Capricorn within 30 days.
This doesn’t happen too often; the last time we had two consecutive Full Moons in the same sign was in March/April 2019, in Libra-Aries — the last time it happened in the sign of Capricorn-Cancer was 19 years ago, in June/July 2005
Ask yourself: What was important in my life during the summer of 2005? Where am I ready for a major upgrade now?
Having two consecutive Moons in the same sign is particularly interesting because of the degree in which they become exact — it is usually an exalted degree.
With the current Full Moon becoming exact in 29 degrees of Capricorn, we are getting a chance to complete something, most likely something that started with the first Full Moon in 1º of Capricorn on June 21st.
This will most likely be connected to long-term goals, social status, or worldly achievements, but it might also be connected to our energetic understanding of life and our spiritual sovereignty — since Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is currently moving through Pisces.
This is an exalted degree because it is the last degree of the sign and, thus, the last chance for any transiting celestial body to express itself fully before changing signs.
With any Full Moon, we see things we have not been aware of before, and we get a chance to make changes if we don’t like what we see.
Ask yourself: What’s happened to me since June 21st regarding long-term goals? What needs another look? What needs to change? What is asking for completion?
Since we discussed the Capricorn-Cancer polarity at length in the first Capricorn Full Moon video, feel free to watch that or you can also read the Capricorn Full Moon article from June — but for this article let’s focus on the aspects connected to this month’s Full Moon chart, starting with the Moon:
The Moon in the last degree of Capricorn aligns with Pluto in a very early degree of Aquarius. This invites us to…

On July 5th at 6:57pm EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in 14 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.
Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac, as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle amplifies feelings, instincts, and needs.
Before we get started, let me just share that I have another Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Astrology Friday” coming up:on Friday July 26th at 8am. Feel free to join us live or watch the replay on YouTube or via Soulivity.com
This New Moon might be a big turning point for some of us. Firstly, it squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra.
- The Sun & Moon also makes a wide Conjunction to Venus in Cancer, and all three of them make a Trine to an exalted Saturn in Pisces that has been retrograde since June 29th.
- Venus makes some additional aspects in this New Moon chart: a Square to Chiron in Aries, and a Sextile to Uranus & Mars in Taurus
- Mars not only aligns with Uranus in Taurus but also sextiles Saturn in Pisces
- Jupiter in Gemini makes a close Trine to the South Node in Libra and a Sextile to Mercury in Leo
And lastly, Mercury opposes Pluto in Aquarius — but before we unwrap the meaning of all of this, let’s first talk about the Cancer archetype:
Cancer represents the yin, receptive principle, which births, nurtures, and protects life. The Sun and Moon in Cancer remind us that we must also receive as well as give. Both constant giving and constant taking are unhealthy and unsustainable.
With this New Moon occurring in protective, introverted Cancer, we are invited to surround ourselves with quality and safety; we can expect anything connected to home, family, real estate, or childhood issues to be heightened in our awareness for the next four weeks.
This New Moon highlights the importance of…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 6:57pm and 11:47pm (on Saturday, July 6th) and then again, 9 minutes later, between 11:56pm (on Saturday night, July 6th) and 6:57pm (on Sunday, July 7th).

by Sonja Francis | Jun 13, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Full Moon, Neptune, Saturn
On June 21st, at 9:08pm EDT, the Moon opposes the Sun in 1 degree of Capricorn-Cancer. This is the first of two Full Moons in this particular polarity! The second one will be on July 21st at 29º of Capricorn.
All Full Moons bring greater awareness to our current situation — what’s working and what we need to change. This Full Moon in Capricorn–Cancer asks us to pay special attention to what’s missing in our lives, and take steps towards manifesting it.
Just a quick reminder: You can still join us on June 29th for our One-Day Retreat in the country: “Breathe in Life” — an exploration of yourself via Astrology, Yoga, Breath work, Nature, and a chance to be connecting with like-minded people. For more info or to register, click here
Back to the Full Moon…
Lots of planets are involved in this Full Moon chart:
- The Sun in Cancer aligns with Venus & Mercury and quincunxes Pluto in Aquarius
- Mercury in Cancer squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra and sextiles Mars in Taurus
- The Moon in Capricorn opposes all the planets currently residing in Cancer (Sun, Venus & Mercury)
- The Moon in Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer both square an exalted Neptune in the last degree of Pisces
- Saturn (the ruler of Capricorn) in almost 19.5º Pisces starts its Station phase the day after the Full Moon becomes exact, in preparation to start its yearly Retrograde phase (which will last: June 29th until Nov. 15th) More details about Saturn in a moment…
Neptune in Pisces is exalted for several reasons:
1) it is in its own sign, 2) it is in a heightened degree (29º), the last degree of Pisces, and 3) it just started its Station phase on June 18th, preparing for its yearly Retrograde (just like Saturn). Something is “in our face” concerning the feminine energies (such as allowing, resting, sensing, intuiting, and feeling into the flow of things, etc.) — and all of this plays an essential role for the next two weeks, so tune in!
First, let’s look at the polarities of this Full Moon: The Moon in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn opposes the Sun, Venus & Mercury in protective, feeling-oriented Cancer.
We have a heightened sense that something must be brought into balance and reintegrated; the balance in question is between the connection we have to our feelings and emotional needs, plus our ability to feel emotionally connected to others (symbolized by Cancer), versus our outer obligations or material, practical goals out there in the world (Capricorn).
The Moon, in opposition to the Sun/Venus/Mercury alignment in Cancer, asks us to balance loving, caring connection, and sharing against our need to achieve our long-term goals.
As best as you can, steer by your own inner compass and bring your caring self to the world in a spirit of integrity and responsibility — and keep in mind that as we heal our past, we become a source of light and support for others.
Ask yourself: What would self-responsible self-care look like? How does my inner life inform my outer? What are my priorities? What am I ready to talk about or share from my past — in a vulnerable way? Can I honor my feelings and see them as valid?
Venus & Mercury, conjunct the Sun in Cancer, indicates that we need to answer some of life’s big questions: Am I partnering…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 0-3 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, Libra, or 29 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you are more affected by this month’s Full Moon; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer).

by Sonja Francis | May 19, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Jupiter
On May 25th, 2024, at 7:15pm EDT, Jupiter changes signs from peaceful, steady, sensual Taurus to versatile, fast-thinking Gemini. It journeys through this versatile Air sign until June 9th, 2025.
In our natal chart, the position of Jupiter reveals how we express generosity and tolerance and how we go about trusting others and improving our lives. Jupiter is about expansion, possibilities, perspectives, and our mental & spiritual growth.
Ask yourself: Where do I look for wisdom and understanding? Where do I need movement and spaciousness? Where do I hold perspectives or beliefs that come from my social conditioning? Where do I feel optimistic and have faith that things will turn out ok?
Since Jupiter represents the principle of expansion — it operates like a magnifying glass. During its time in Taurus (May 2023 – May 2024), the magnifying glass sought more opportunities for our physical realities and sense of self-worth.
We may also have wanted to contribute to life from a down-to-earth, more slow-paced, patient place. This might have created a shift in attitude towards our personal resources, material comforts, and the enjoyment of life’s physical and material parts.
Conversely, Jupiter in Gemini brings the magnifying lens to bear on our communications and ability to process and share information.
The opportunity now is to bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to the fulfillment of our ability to listen, learn, teach, or write— and to get excited about sharing and staying connected with others.
This one-year transit also fosters expanding our connection to…

All this is especially true if you are a Sagittarius or Gemini Sun- or Rising-sign. As a Sagittarius, you will feel a greater need to learn something new or write an article or a book — let’s hope that doesn’t show up as being too scatter-brained. As a Gemini, you will most likely feel a greater sense of possibility, together with a need to grow and expand your knowledge and intellect, your perspectives and how you apply what you know over the next year (i.e. until June 2025).
Where does Jupiter-in-Gemini fall in your own birth chart? What aspects does it make during this transit? How does a wise response to one house support a more fruitful response to the next?
What outward opportunities arise as Jupiter interacts with any of your personal planets? Where might you experience a major expansion between now and June 2025? Where are you ready to experience more curiosity, adaptability, and exchange of information with others?
If you’d like more insight into those questions, I invite you to watch my webinar on the subject: “Jupiter in Gemini until June 2025“— we applied Jupiter’s movement to our own birth charts! If you are reading this before May 22nd and would like to join us live, register here by May 22nd at 12pm EDT

On May 23rd at 9:53am EDT, the Full Moon in almost 3 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact. We start to feel the Full Moon build from the moment the Moon enters Sagittarius early that same morning.
For the next two weeks, we seek balance as we become more aware of something that needs to be brought into alignment or integrated. The balance in question is between our mental processes — symbolized by Gemini — and our quest for a larger truth or meaning (linked to Sagittarius).

Here’s a quick overview of what I’ll discuss in this article:
- The Moon in Sagittarius sextiles Pluto in Aquarius, which means that the Sun in Gemini trines Pluto.
- Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, aligns with Venus in Taurus, both at 29º (an exalted degree)!
- Venus enters Gemini only 12 hours after the Full Moon becomes exact, and Jupiter will follow suit two days later (on May 25th)
- Jupiter & Venus sextile Neptune in Pisces (with Neptune at 29º!)
- Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is also in Taurus, making a wide Square to Pluto in Aquarius.
- Mars is currently in its domicile sign and will be sandwiched between the North Node & Chiron in Aries at the time of the Full Moon.
More about the specifics in a moment, but one thing to remember: Full Moons are always times of awareness and culmination. We see things we have not seen before and get to make changes if we don’t like what we see.
So think back to the New Moon phase that started on May 7th: What seeds were planted then? What has “sprouted” since? What are you aware of now that was not apparent before?
Before we talk about all of the aspects of this Full Moon, let’s first talk about the Sagittarian-Gemini polarity:
Gemini deals with information exchange, observation, and objectivity, while Sagittarius deals with what’s beyond our thinking — indeed, beyond information — this includes things like interpretation and ethics.
In other words, what do we think, believe, and “really know”? We are invited to become more aware of the difference between facts vs. beliefs, truth vs. fabrication, and meaningful activity vs. diversions.
At its highest vibration, Sagittarius shows us…

We will talk about Jupiter’s upcoming journey through Gemini. So don’t miss this if you are at all curious how the next 13 months can make your life incrementally better!

Back to the New Moon:
- This New Moon sextiles Saturn in Pisces (almost exact), then we have a line-up in Taurus, starting with Venus (in the sign she rules) followed by the Sun & Moon, then Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus — which brings a huge emphasis to the Taurean-energy.
- Venus still makes a wide Square to an exalted Retrograde Pluto in Aquarius at the time of the New Moon (this started when she entered Taurus on April 29th).
- Neptune, in a late degree of Pisces, and Mars, in an early degree of Aries, makes a wide Sextile to the exalted Pluto. Mars is also approaching a conjunction with the North Node in Aries (exact on May 19th).
- We also have semi-Square between Saturn and Pluto that is worth mentioning, and Mercury is making its final pass over Chiron in Aries — the first of three passes was on March 20th, the second one during Mercury’s Retrograde phase on April 15th, and the third and last one is exact on May 6th, only 24 hours before the New Moon becomes exact!
- Mercury is still in its post-Shadow phase until May 13th, asking us to review anything that has come up during the Mercury Retrograde phase (April 1st until the 25th).
So, as you can see, lots going on in this New Moon chart, collectively painting a complex picture with a focus on the balance of masculine and feminine energies.
Before we go into all of these aspects in more detail, however, let’s first talk about the sign of Taurus.
With 5 planets in Taurus, we are feeling a strong need to focus on this earthy sign for the next 28 days:
Steady, peaceful Taurus places more focus on our interactions with the physical world — you could say that we seek a healthier relationship with “matter”, one in which we are neither too attached nor too disconnected from things on the physical plane — for example, our bodies, resources (such as money), and the planet we co-inhabit.
We are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the only planet we can currently live on — The Earth — and honor its resources and beauty.
How can we change our mindset about those earthly matters? What would the combination of a deep knowing and a deep-rooted sense of being at home in our body and the world feel like?
In much the same spirit, we are invited also to honor ourselves, our bodies, and our talents. This is a good time for reevaluating our relationship with money and possessions, and for discovering what truly makes us happy and fulfilled, so check in with yourself: What came to mind when you read or heard this? (maybe journal on this)
Let’s talk about some of the aspects in this New Moon chart, starting with the most exact one:
The New Moon in Taurus sextiles Saturn in Pisces:
Taurus ultimately seeks to honor spirit in form, recognizing the physical world as an expression of the divine and the body as a sacred vehicle.
Pisces understands the paradox between physical and spiritual — between matter and energy.
As such, this aspect presents an opportunity to join our need for material comfort and enjoyment of life to a practice that supports a more intuitive approach. This is an opportunity to…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 16-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
This month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 11:22pm on May 7th, and 11:22pm on May 9th. The only exception will be a 1.5-hour period on May 8th — there will be a brief Moon VoC between 5:55pm and 7:20pm — all of the above times are given in US East Coast time.

Again, the New Moon conjuncts Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus. This brings more awareness and emphasis to the Jupiter-Uranus alignment that began earlier this year, was exact on April 20th, and is still strong until May 19th and in the same sign until May 25th!

by Sonja Francis | Apr 18, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Full Moon
On April 23rd, at 7:49pm EDT, the Moon opposes the Sun in 4 degrees of Scorpio. The entrance of the Moon into Scorpio earlier that same day begins the energetic build-up towards this powerful Full Moon.
The Moon, in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, opposes the Sun in steady, peaceful Taurus. This offers an opportunity for a deeper, more authentic connection with ourselves and others.
Eclipse Season ended on April 18th. We have now received our consciousness upgrades! Tune in for a moment: Do you feel any differently now than you did before March 15th?
Another thing to consider: on Oct. 28th, 2023, we had a Lunar Eclipse in 5 degrees of Taurus-Scorpio. Since this Full Moon is in a similar degree, check to see what has been coming up since then when it comes to facing your fears and valuing yourself and your authentic relationships with others.
Ask yourself: What inauthentic (or even toxic) relationships must I still release or transform to step into greater abundance and happiness? What fears must likewise be released or transformed?
This Full Moon will most likely stimulate our emotional body and increase our awareness of unconscious patterns and fears. We may feel more easily triggered as buried emotions, motivations, and fears surface. Please be aware of projections and jumping to conclusions.
If you are unsure whether you are projecting something on someone else, check for defensiveness, over-reactivity, or difficulty being objective while exhibiting rigid behaviors.
If you’d like to learn more, and as a Member of my online community, click here to watch my Members Full Moon video.
There are several aspects worth mentioning in this Full Moon chart:
- Pluto (the ruler of Scorpio) is currently in Aquarius — and highly exalted — squares the Full Moon polarity in Scorpio–Taurus
- Mars (the co-ruler of Scorpio), currently in Pisces, aligns with Neptune and sextiles the Jupiter-Uranus alignment in Taurus
- Venus (the ruler of Taurus), currently in Aries, aligns with Chiron, and a highly exalted Mercury
- A highly exalted Mercury in Aries aligns with the North Node and comes to a halt less than two days after the Full Moon becomes exact (on April 25th) — ending its 3-week Retrograde phase.
- Last but not least, Saturn in Pisces semi-sextiles the Mercury-North Node alignment in Aries and semi-squares Pluto in Aquarius
We will cover all of that in a moment, but first…
For the next two weeks, we seek the balance and integration of two polarities and are aware that something needs to be brought into alignment; the balance in question is between our physical attachments, aversions, and connections — symbolized by Taurus— and our emotional attachments, aversions, and connections (Scorpio).
The time of the Full Moon brings greater awareness to what was unconscious or hidden previously. This particular one invites us to let go of fears or disempowering behaviors.
So, here’s this Full Moon’s central question: As a society, are we living in alignment with our values, with what makes us happy and satisfied?
How about as individuals? Do we feel empowered and emotionally fulfilled? Are there any fears that serve as obstacles on the path to progress? Or perhaps some rigid thought processes?
Let’s take a closer look at the two signs involved in this Full Moon polarity…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you are more affected by this month’s powerful Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse; the same is true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Again, Jupiter and Uranus only meet every 14 years. Their cycles correspond with beliefs in the ability to make progress in a particular area of life — sometimes leading to social upheaval. We may also see upheaval in the natural world, for example with floods, severe storms, tornados, and earthquakes. It’s all about “shaking things up” in general.

by Sonja Francis | Mar 29, 2024 | Astrology Articles, Mars, Mercury Retrograde, New Moon, Solar Eclipse
On April 8th at 2:21pm EDT, a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse becomes exact in 19.5º of Aries. This launches a new Moon and Eclipse cycle.
As we remain in Eclipse Season until April 18th, the coming weeks could offer some tailwinds that carry us to significant breakthroughs; we are invited to learn how to be conscious creators, mindful of how our thinking and choices affect our personal and collective experiences.
As best you can, trust that whatever is leaving is making space for something better — the more willing we are to change, the easier it will be.
Stay grounded and flexible — and don’t jump the gun for the next 2-3 weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to observe the urge — unless it is connected to something that happens organically — if you are ambivalent about taking an action, better hold off until Eclipse Season ends on April 18th.
Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that occur approximately every six months. This Eclipse cycle will be in effect until March 2025; this is the first Solar Eclipse of this year and the second in Aries in this Eclipse cycle. You may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.
The first Solar Eclipse in Aries (connected to the current Eclipse cycle) occurred on April 20th, 2023. What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity since then? Where are you asked to get out of your comfort zone? Has this been a humbling experience so far?
During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.
This Eclipse is a Total Solar Eclipse and a SuperMoon!
This will be the third of three Super New Moons in a row, and as some of you already know, SuperMoons occur when the Moon is at its closest distance to the Earth (at the time of a New Moon or Full Moon) and are more powerful. This means greater awareness of the issues connected to the particular New Moon energy.
Total Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. The Moon will completely cover the Sun.
This Total Eclipse will be visible in North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. It will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. The first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast.
The path of the Eclipse continues from Mexico, entering the United States in Texas, and traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the Total Solar Eclipse.
The Eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. It will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally. Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings.
They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign — while the North Node was traveling through Aries — was on April 8th, 2005.
We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Spring of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?
For more guidance on those questions, it is best to take a look at our Natal Charts — the House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which area of life is the readiest to embrace a healthy sense of Self and rise to a new level of consciousness around independence and forging our path, gently and holistically.
Feel free to watch my webinar “Eclipse Season & the Mercury Retrograde” to see how the Eclipses impact your birth chart. You can get this 95-minute webinar here.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We are bound to experience a release and recalibration of some sort because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded– and for this Eclipse, this is especially true in connection with our relationship to our human identity and our sense of agency in the world — in other words, how capable we feel to get things done.
This begins with our role in our interactions with others, whether we can be direct about our personal goals and passions and inspire others to follow our example.
Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to integrate and understand better about ourselves over the next six months until the next Solar Eclipse (Oct. 2nd, 2024) — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this video/article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.
Setting Intentions for Solar Eclipses differs from a regular New Moon! So stay tuned!
The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during those times.
North Node Eclipses help us move towards…

Since Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º… so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 19º24’ of Aries:
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-25 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)
Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 6-month Eclipse cycle rather than just the next 28 days.
Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. This is because we are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are pretty intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions — that said, it’s best to avoid setting them during a Moon void of course.
Given all this, here are the best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse: Between 2:21pm on Wednesday, April 10th, and 6:04am on Thursday, April 11th. Then again, from 8:59am on April 11th until 2:21pm on Friday, April 12th. Note that all times above are given in US Eastern Time — i.e., the New York time zone.
Set powerful intentions — remember, they cover the next six months — and if possible, align them with the Aries energy!
If you live in a timezone other than EDT and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and following me on X (Twitter), as I post reminders on those platforms when it’s time to set your intentions.

On March 10th, at 5am EDT/9am London-time, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 20 degrees of Pisces, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free also to watch my New Moon video on the subject
This is the last Lunation before we enter Eclipse Season — which starts on March 15th and lasts until April 18th.
Eclipse Season is usually an unpredictable time, as we are recalibrating on a physical, mental and emotional level which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.
We will also talk about Eclipse Season in my next Soulivity Today Morning Show: Hot Astrology Friday on March 15th at 8am EDT. If you live in California, listen via KMET Radio at 8am PDT.
Now, back to the New Moon:
New Moons mark the ending and beginning of a monthly cycle and are an optimal time to pause, reflect, and set new Intentions for the next 28 days.
This New Moon is another SuperMoon (the second of three Super New Moons in a row). These occur when the Moon is closest to the Earth (at the time of a New or Full Moon) and are more powerful. This means greater awareness of the issues connected to the particular New Moon energy.
Since this one occurs in Pisces, this Super New Moon invites us to connect with our inner divinity and ability to receive, trust our intuition, and contribute to life from a heart-centered and empathic place.
This Super New Moon chart has four planets in Pisces, including the Sun, Moon, Saturn, and Neptune. Neptune (the ruler of Pisces) is within 7 degrees of the New Moon, still close enough to make an impact and invite us to open our hearts and dissolve anything that keeps us separate from that heart connection.
The New Moon sextiles Uranus in Taurus, making this an opportune time to tune into the unique value we each have.
Mars in Aquarius is most aspected in this Super New Moon chart. It semi-sextiles the New Moon in Pisces, sextiles Chiron in Aries, and squares Uranus in Taurus.
This will bring an opportunity for more profound healing, individually and collectively speaking. But we are also invited to stretch ourselves and grow beyond what we have known ourselves to be. I will go into all of this in more detail in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Pisces-energy:
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and thus connects us to our spiritual journey, as it represents a reunion with Source/God/the Universe. At its highest vibration, Pisces…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 18-22 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Before I talk about New Moon Intentions, let me mention my next FORECASTING FORUM…
This 90+ min. webinar will be about the upcoming Eclipse Season and the first full Mercury Retrograde of the year in Aries as they relate to our birth charts.
You can join us live on Friday, March 22nd at 1pm EDT/10am PDT/5pm London-time. If this date and time doesn’t work for you, register to get the mp4-video presentation.
Early Bird Special available until March 20th at midnight EDT! — To register for this month only, click here
NEW! Universal Members get a 10% discount for all of my Forecasting Forums at any time! If you’d like to be registered automatically every month, become a Star Member on my site.
If you are already a Star Member OR already registered for the upcoming Forum, you can email me with a question about the upcoming Eclipses OR the Mercury Retrograde until March 22nd at 11am EDT! Questions are answered in the order that they have been received.
The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon Void of Course phase.
So this month, the two best and most potent times to set intentions would be between 5am and 3:45pm on March 10th and from 8:19pm on March 10th until 5am on March 12th — New York time.
If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook page or follow me on Twitter as I post reminders on March 10th, 11th, and 12th to let you know when to set your intentions.

by Sonja Francis | Feb 16, 2024 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Full Moon, Jupiter
The next Full Moon will be “exact” on February 24th, at 7:30am EST in 5.5 degrees of Virgo — and by then, we are halfway through the Lunar cycle that started on Feb. 9th.
Look at the New Moon Intentions you set around Feb. 10th or 11th, and ask yourself: How far have I come with those Intentions? If I’m not where I’d like to be with my goals, what new course might bring them closer?
If you are already a Member of my online community, I invite you to watch my Full Moon video.
We start to feel the build-up towards this Full Moon when the Moon enters Virgo on Feb 23rd at 8:37pm EST.
This particular Full Moon has a planetary line-up in Aquarius (squaring Jupiter in Taurus) and a line-up in Pisces (sextiling Jupiter).
We will also examine some Moon aspects, including a Trine to Jupiter (the traditional ruler of Pisces) and the Opposition to Mercury & Saturn in Pisces. More about all of this in a moment…
We also have Chiron, the Wounded Healer, closely aligned with the North Node (our Soul’s current focus). We’ll look at this long-term aspect in more detail — in connection with our birth charts — in our upcoming Forecasting Forum on Friday, Feb. 23rd, at 5pm EST/2pm PST/10pm London time.
This alignment started to build in July of 2023 and will last until June 17th, 2024; it is at its most intense between January 24th and March 25th, 2024.
Chiron represents a bridge between the physical and the spiritual world. It invites us to focus on a more holistic approach towards our passions and our physical activities — in other words, a healing process of the masculine energies in our world.
We may feel more physically sensitive or humbled by our current human journey — and it is essential that we see ourselves and everyone else out there as “human”, acknowledging that the human experience is not easy, especially when we hold on to the idea of separation and duality.
So, if you want to know how Chiron’s alignment with the North Node in Aries impacts you personally, SIGN UP to join the webinar LIVE or register to receive an mp4 video presentation within 24 hours of the live event. The EARLY BIRD SPECIAL is still available until Feb. 21st at midnight EST! And all of my Universal Members now get a 10% discount for all my monthly Forecasting Forums!
Star Members: You are still automatically registered at no extra cost and will receive an email with a link to join live on Feb. 23rd — and you will also automatically receive a video recording within 24 hours of the live event.
If you are reading this after Feb. 23rd, it’s too late to join live, but you can still get the mp4-video recording of “Healing on a Personal & Collective level — Chiron and the North Node in Aries” here.
Now, a Full Moon is always an opposition between the Moon and the Sun; in this case, the Moon also opposes Mercury and Saturn in Pisces. During any opposition, we seek balance, alignment, and integration around two “opposing” perspectives.
We often experience this through our interactions with others, and since these interactions are also the pathway to resolution, relationships of all kinds are highlighted during Full Moons.
The balance we seek between Virgo and Pisces seems to be…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point, or personal planets in 3-8 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, this month’s Full Moon will affect you more; the same is true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

by Sonja Francis | Feb 5, 2024 | Astrology Articles, New Moon
On Feb. 9th at 5:59pm EST, a powerful New Moon in 20.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. I also recommend you watch my video on the subject.
Please note: there are some Membership changes that went into effect on Jan. 24th with some new Membership features and some minor price changes. You can watch a brief video about those changes here.
This New Moon is also a SuperMoon — the first of three Super New Moons in a row, when the Moon is nearest to the Earth, increasing its gravitational effects on ocean tides, tectonic plates, and our emotional body. If we allow it, Super Moons can lead to significant shifts in consciousness.
Since this one occurs in Aquarius, this Super New Moon invites us to go out there and connect with “our people”– with a tribe that resonates, a cause that feels aligned with our values and our need for stability and comfort. This connection serves a larger vision for our financial future and the future of our planet, etc.
This New Moon takes place only 6 hours before the Chinese New Year begins, marking the beginning of the Year of the Yang Wood Dragon. This symbolizes vigor, charm, and strength. It also represents royalty (the Emperor), wisdom, and prosperity. Therefore, a Dragon Year brings good fortune, power, passion, and new opportunities.
The Wood year is a time for quick growth and development. There can be sudden breakthroughs and fast changes. The Wood and Dragon energy combination could be overwhelming for some of us.
Anticipate a year that is exciting, creative, and transformational. Risk-taking and forceful pursuit of our goals will yield great results. Life’s pace is fast and dynamic; anything can happen in a Dragon year. Be prepared for an unpredictable and possibly volatile year. The motto for this year could be: “Never a dull moment.”
Ask yourself: Where am I ready to take a risk? Where do I feel the calling to pursue a goal passionately? Where do I need to step outside my comfort zone for a new adventure?
Coming back to Western Astrology, until April 1st, all planets will be in forward motion. This indicates an accelerated time of manifestation — especially connected to new projects or ideas.
It will be extra important to stay focused and grounded and regularly check that we’re moving in the “right” direction.
Ask yourself: What in my life is asking for accelerated progress? What do I wish to manifest with the support of the Universe?
Here is what we will cover in connection with this Super New Moon:
* Uranus (the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, and innovation), modern ruler of Aquarius, is currently in Taurus and still exalted in this Super New Moon chart. It will also make a powerful Square to the New Moon and a Trine to Venus in Capricorn.
* Saturn (the planet associated with building sustainable structures), the traditional ruler of Aquarius, is currently in Pisces and is still in a Sextile to Jupiter in Taurus (due to Jupiter’s Station and Retrograde phases, this has been going on since Dec. 7th of last year)
* Venus is part of a planetary Line-up (Stellium) that includes Mars in Capricorn, Pluto in Aquarius, and Mercury in Aquarius.
* This will also be Pluto’s first New Moon since changing signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Jan. 20th — and the New Moon will also be in the same sign as Pluto.
With all this, we are being asked to be extra-mindful about connecting to our physical reality (our body, our finances, and the planet) in an innovative and unique manner.
We are also being asked to bring integrity and maturity to our connections with others, to our collaboration, and to be extra conscious about how we interact with others: choosing Love over fear, whenever we can. More about all of this and more below…
Let’s first talk a little bit about Aquarius and what this energy represents before jumping into the aspects of this Super New Moon chart:
The highest vibration of Aquarius is to experience unity in diversity — to know ourselves as both an individual and an integral member of the human race. It’s a place where we…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Finally, let’s talk “New Moon Intentions“… The New Moon is the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact and not during a Moon void of Course phase.
There will be a Moon VoC starting with the New Moon on Feb. 9th, which means we are best off waiting until the next day to set our intentions.
That means that this month, the best time and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 8:42am on Feb. 10th and 5:59pm on Feb. 11th – (New York Time/US Eastern Time)
If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast) and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page, following me on Twitter or Instagram. I will post reminders to let you know when to set your New Moon intentions.

==> I will be interviewed the lovely Brian Westley Johnson, and I will give a preview about what to expect for February with Venus making a powerful connection to Pluto in Aquarius on the 17th and Chiron to the North Node in Aries on the 19th!

On January 25th at 12:54pm EST, the Moon opposes the Sun in 5 degrees of Leo — and this is when this month’s Full Moon becomes exact. We started to feel this Full Moon build from the moment the Moon entered Leo on Wednesday night, Jan. 24th. Relationships of all kinds are highlighted.
I have a very important announcement for my current Members:
Since I started my Membership site six years ago, expenses for my Membership site have gone up quite a bit, but I have kept Membership fees at their original rates. Unfortunately, with the latest round of cost increases, I had to make the tough decision to make some changes.
Many of you have also told me that they would do more Readings with me if my prices were a little lower.
The solution that I came up with, is to raise site membership fees by a modest amount, and at the same time offer much deeper Member discounts on Readings, Coaching Packages, and Astrology Courses.
Universal Members will get up to 15% discounts on Services, and Star Members will get up to 25% discounts!
This will help me keep the membership system going and allow all of you to take advantage of my services more often.
The fees will go to $7/month for my Universal Members and to $29/month for my Star Members.
The yearly fee will go to $63 for Universal (that’s 3 FREE Months) and $289 for Star Members.
This will go into effect on Jan. 24th! Please email me at info@astrologercoach.com if you have any questions!
Back to the Full Moon:
All Full Moons offer opportunities to see things in a new light and guide us away from polarization and division toward balance and integration. Ask yourself: How far have I come since setting Intentions back on Jan. 11th or 12th, after the New Moon became exact? What am I aware of at this time?
The balance and integration we seek with this month’s Full Moon are connected to the Aquarius-Leo polarity. As a Member of my online community, if you’d like to learn more about this month’s Full Moon, click here to watch my video.
This Full Moon chart has a big focus on the outer and social planets:
- The Sun aligns with Pluto in Aquarius
- The Moon in Leo opposes not only the Sun but also Pluto in Aquarius, and it also trines Chiron in Aries
- Jupiter in Taurus is the focus point of a T-square to the Full Moon polarity (as well as Pluto)
- Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) currently exalted in Taurus, as it is preparing to end its 5-month Retrograde phase on Jan. 27th; and it trines a Mercury-Mars alignment in Capricorn
- The Mercury-Mars alignment also squares Chiron, the Wounded Healer
- Saturn (the traditional ruler of Aquarius) currently in Pisces quincunxes the Moon in Leo, and sextiles Jupiter in Taurus and Venus in Capricorn
I will go into all of this in more detail in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Aquarius-Leo polarity:
Aquarius represents a unique vision and approach to life. The classic Aquarian vision is one of interconnected equality and belonging — paradoxically, we are reminded at the same time that the power of unity lies in diversity. It is a concentrative sign.
On the other hand, Leo is all about our self-expression, creativity, and ability to connect to a courageous, innocent heart and inner joy. Leo, at its best, signifies the quest to live from our center, our authentic core, our truth — with joy in our hearts.
As with all Full Moons, we are also invited to…

On January 11th at 6:57am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 21 degrees of Capricorn, launching a new Moon cycle.
New Moons are good times to reflect on our lives and set new intentions. This is an excellent time to go within and plant a seed for anything we would like to accomplish over the next 28 days and beyond. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject, here.
There are two quick things I would like to mention before we get started:
1) My latest Podcast/Radio Show for “Soulivity Today” focused on “hot dates” in 2024; if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend that you watch it on YouTube at Soulivity Today or click here to watch it on my website
2) Also! On Jan. 24th at 1pm EST, we have our first Forecasting Forum of the year!
We will talk about Uranus, the planet of breakthroughs, innovation & change, as well as Pluto (the planet of deep transformation & power) moving back into Aquarius (the sign most associated with communities, technology & future visions) — for the second time since last March, and this time it will remain in Aquarius until September 1st.
The third pass will be from Nov. 19th, 2024, until Jan. 2044. This is a 246-year cycle, which means the last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1778 – 1798. This was when the United States achieved its independence from Great Britain — through its desire to create a place “of the people for the people”, a place where freedom and equality were honored and aspired to.
So, join us for this powerful 90-minute webinar ==> Early Bird Special is only $32 until Jan. 22nd! After that time, it will be $37.00
Everyone who is registered also gets access to the mp4 video recording of the live event. As always, Star Members are automatically registered.

Now, let’s talk about the first New Moon in 2024:
If you did make any New Year’s resolutions, this New Moon cycle will be a great time to implement and make good on those resolutions or intentions.
If you didn’t set any New Year’s resolutions, I can’t blame you, since Mercury was Retrograde at midnight on Dec. 31st/Jan. 1st., and was also squaring Neptune in Pisces — so it may have felt too overwhelming to set any concrete intentions for 2024, or it wasn’t even on your radar…
But do not worry; January 11th is your next chance to set some great goals or intentions, and this time, you will feel much more grounded, realistic, and excited about doing so.
Since this New Moon occurs in Capricorn, it directs us to investigate our relationship with authority, not just “authority” in the external sense, but also our “own authority”.
The highest vibration of Capricorn is self-mastery: the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, setting realistic goals, and healthy boundaries. So, the next 28 days are perfect for working on these areas.
Since Capricorn represents the quest for…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 18-23 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for the month’s Moon cycle — the perfect time is after the New Moon becomes exact (but not during a Moon void of course).
So this month, there are two best and most potent times to set intentions — the first would be any time between 6:57am and 9:33pm on Jan. 11th — and the second would be between 10:01pm on Jan. 11th and 4:59am on Jan. 13th. (EST/New York time).

by Sonja Francis | Dec 20, 2023 | Astrological Forecasts, Astrology Articles, Full Moon
On December 26th at 7:33pm EST, the Moon opposes the Sun in almost 5 degrees of Cancer. The entrance of the Moon into Cancer earlier that same day begins the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon.
This is the second Full Moon in 2023 in the Cancer-Capricorn polarity. The first one was on Jan. 6th, 2023, at the beginning of the year. You could say that started the year in the same way we are invited to end it….
Relationships of all kinds are highlighted during this time — but with this Full Moon, there is a particularly strong emphasis on family- and business relationships.
Before we dive in, I just want to share: it’s not too late to watch my Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Astrology Topics” A Preview of 2024! ==> If you weren’t able to join us live on Dec. 15th, not to worry, here is the replay!
Back to the Full Moon…
Lots of planets are involved in this Full Moon chart:
- Moon in Cancer: sextiles an exalted Jupiter in Taurus and trines Saturn in Pisces
- Sun in Capricorn: trines an exalted Jupiter and sextiles Saturn
- Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) in Pisces sextiles an exalted Jupiter in Taurus
- Mercury and Mars are closely aligned in Sagittarius, both in a Square to Neptune in Pisces
- Neptune trines Venus in Scorpio, and they both sextile Pluto in Capricorn
- A highly exalted Chiron in Aries is in a wide Square to the Full Moon polarity and closes in on the North Node in Aries
Jupiter is exalted until Jan. 6th (stationing) as it prepares to end its 4-month Retrograde phase at 5.5 degrees of Taurus on Dec. 30th. However, at the time of the Full Moon, Jupiter will support the integration of the Full Moon polarity because it is sextiling the Moon in Cancer and trining the Sun in Capricorn.
The same is true for Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn. Saturn in Pisces will also support the integration of the Full Moon polarity, as it is trining the Moon and sextiling the Sun.
Chiron is extremely exalted and will halt at 15.5 degrees of Aries only 2.5 hours after the Full Moon becomes exact.
All of the above-mentioned play an important role, so buckle up! More about the specifics regarding all of these planets in a moment. But first, let’s talk about this month’s Full Moon:
This Lunation shows us how well we are doing with self-care and any issues connected to family or home — and also where we are in connection to greater emotional responsibility and self-alignment.
Ask yourself: What’s my relationship to self-care? Where do I feel most “at home”? What’s my understanding of my emotional needs? How might an emotional connection to myself and my loved ones be of benefit to me? How might it shift my priorities?
Let’s take a look at the polarities involved with this Full Moon: The Moon in protective, feeling-oriented Cancer opposes the Sun in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn.
We have a heightened sense that something must be brought into balance and reintegrated; the balance in question is between the experience of our personal feelings and emotional needs (symbolized by Cancer), versus our outer obligations or material, practical goals (Capricorn). It’s important to realize that…
