Give Yourself Extra Time

This week’s headline items: Saturn’s Station phase in Aquarius remains at an intensified level all week; the New Moon in Gemini becomes exact on Monday morning; Mercury’s Station in Taurus intensifies on Tuesday before it goes direct on Friday early morning and begins its post-Shadow phase; Saturn comes to a halt on Saturday early evening as it starts its 4.5-month Retrograde phase; it’s time to start to take action on our New Moon intentions on Saturday evening.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late afternoon (for almost 10 hours); Friday late morning (a little over 3.5 hours), and Sunday evening (a little over 7 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, May 30th:

Monday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day. It will journey there until Wednesday very early morning. For the next 1.5 days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible.

“Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way… The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead 🙂

Monday morning, at 7:30am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9 degrees of Gemini; this marks not only the beginning of a new Moon cycle, but we are also no longer in Eclipse Season. I also recommend you watch my New Moon video on the subject.

One major thing to note in this New Moon chart is that we have 2 planets in their Station phases — and therefore exalted)— and one of those two planets is also the ruler of this New Moon! As such, something is “in our face” in regards to the energies of Mercury & Saturn, demanding our attention and awareness; I will talk more about all of this below, but first, let’s look at the Gemini influence of this New Moon:

Gemini is the archetype of curiosity, communication in all its forms, and mental connections — it represents the development of language and intelligence, as well as our ability to adapt and relate to our immediate environment.

This is a “busy” energy focused on collecting information. We are invited to look at our mental programming and conditioned mind to see what needs to go — and what new thought structures we might want to engage with.

Since Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) is still in its Retrograde motion until June 3rd, we may need to go over thoughts and information collected before May 10th (the start of the retrograde phase), and engage with new thought structures and information after June 18th (once Mercury has exited its Shadow phase).

Here are some questions you can ask yourself for this New Moon: What motivates me to learn? When I talk to myself about sharing or processing information, what do I typically say? What do I say to myself about being connected to others? About my intellectual capacities? In what area of my life am I a student? A teacher? Am I sometimes both, depending on the day?

The spiritual goal of Gemini is the development of perception, thought, and communication; we are therefore invited to become aware of all the new connections created in the brain with each new thought or memory — and the more we think particular thoughts, the deeper the associated pathways become.

So, ask yourself: What mental paths do I keep heading down, even though I know I don’t need to go there anymore? What if I brought 5% more curiosity to my “self-listening”? Or when connecting with others?

The New Moon sextiles the Jupiter/Mars alignment in Aries; let’s talk a little bit about that planetary alignment first, before we address the Sextile to the New Moon:

Mars’ energy combines with Jupiter’s expansiveness to increase our enthusiasm, liveliness, and optimism. In Aries, this combo is quite fiery — so this could prove a very productive and busy time, particularly when it comes to things we feel passionate about, or strongly identify with.

Feel free to also watch my webinar on the subject, if you haven’t seen it yet — we looked at our own birth charts in connection with those planetary movements, to see how each one of us is personally impacted by this. Click here for more info.

Now, the Sextile of this alignment to the New Moon gives us an opportunity to… To read the whole New Moon article and get access to all of the Coaching questions, click here.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-11 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, or Pisces?  If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So, this month, any time between 7:30am (on Monday) and 4:10pm (on Tuesday) would be best, then again from 1:49am until 7:30am (on Wednesday) — please note that all times are given in Eastern Daylight Time — the time zone New York City occupies.

Monday evening, consider connecting with others, socializing, and taking a compassionate approach toward yourself and others, especially when it comes to personal goals and passions. Ask yourself: what if taking a compassionate approach towards myself and others actually made for more fulfilling connections? (Moon in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries, exact at 8:19pm EDT)

Tuesday, May 31st:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 4:10pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday early morning,  Mercury’s Station phase intensifies, as Mercury is preparing to come to a halt Friday early morning — ending its 3.5-week Retrograde phase (more on that on Friday..). During this intensified Station phase (which lasts until June 7th in 25-26º of Taurus), we feel Mercury’s energies even more strongly.

Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices, finances, personal resources, or physical enjoyment of life. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury is moving direct again (to be more precise, during the Shadow phase that follows).

For the next 7 days, we need to be even more patient with ourselves and others — especially if there is a connection with finances, communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. As best as you can, give yourself and others a lot of space!

This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.

We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time (for more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here).

Here are some questions you could ask over the next 7 days: Am I feeling mentally scattered? Nervous? Am I over-thinking? Am I trying to be in constant mental movement or stimulation? What information is truly needed right now? Am I trying to jump the gun on something?

What would it be like to connect and communicate only what is essential? What will get me 1% closer to that, right here and now?

Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 23-28 degrees of  Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius.

Tuesday until 4:10pm EDT, you still have time to set your New Moon Intentions for this month — if you haven’t already done so on Monday. If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon

Tuesday late afternoon, at 4:10pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC, that will last for almost 10 hours until 1:49am EDT (Wednesday very early morning). During this intuitive time, we sense harmonious connections even though we are focused on making progress. Where our vision for the future is concerned, we are invited to bring a new level of authenticity, and make realistic choices around connecting with others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday late afternoon until Wednesday very early morning ahead of time.

Wednesday, June 1st:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini and VoC until 1:49am EDT (see Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon for details).

Wednesday very early morning, at 1:49am  EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Friday afternoon. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.

Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

Wednesday morning between 1:49am and 7:30am EDT, we still have time to set our New Moon Intentions (during the most potent time) for this month — if we haven’t already done so on Monday or Tuesday. If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon

Wednesday morning, we are invited to make some adjustments in our lives and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. As best as you can, look to expand your perspectives around any personal goals you are currently pursuing, and find ways to create nurturing connections with biological or “chosen” family members. (Moon in Cancer squares Jupiter in Aries, exact at 9:35am EDT)

Wednesday late morning, provides us with an opportunity to connect with others (especially those who feel like family) and enjoy the little pleasures in life. What if you let yourself feel nurtured by these connections in a very practical way? (Moon in Cancer sextiles Venus in Taurus, exact at 11:24am EDT)

Wednesday early afternoon, we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for personal projects that you feel passionate about and for emotional or family issues. (Moon in Cancer squares Mars in Aries, exact at 1:31pm EDT)

Thursday, June 2nd:

Thursday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Wednesday very early morning for details).

Thursday morning, we are invited to make adjustments and (as best as we can) find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. Make space both for healing around anger or self-identity and for taking care of emotional issues or anything connected to the home. (Moon in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries, exact at 9:18am EDT)

Thursday late morning, brings an opportunity to connect to family (or friends that feel like family) and create breakthroughs around things that we enjoy through our five senses (e.g. food). This may also be a good time to find a unique or global approach to financial matters that bring us a sense of emotional security. (Moon in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus, exact at 11:05am EDT)

Friday, June 3rd:

Friday, the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 2:38pm EDT (see Wednesday very early morning for details).

Friday early morning, at 4am EDT, Mercury comes to a halt in 26 degrees of Taurus and slowly starts its direct motion, after its 3.5-week Retrograde phase. As best as you can, go with the flow, keep an open mind and pay attention to anything that is in your face right now — you may need to address those issues again when Mercury moves through its post-Shadow phase…more on that in a moment…

We are slowly ready to shift our focus towards the outer world again, taking in new information and sharing from a new perspective…

What did you learn about your inner dialog over the past 3.5 weeks? How can you share your newly found inner understanding in a healthy way with the world?

What needs to be addressed regarding your personal values? How about your thought structures? What might a curious yet realistic way of approaching communications look like? If you came to a new-found understanding of your own thinking structures, what might that be?

When Mercury gets back to its regular speed (by June 18th), communication and transportation will get back to normal; the same is true of any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc.

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) — and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 24-28 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius,?

Also, Friday, Mercury’s post-Shadow phase begins — lasting until June 18th…. as you may recall, I mentioned Mercury Shadow phases in this update a few weeks back: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the periods shortly before Mercury goes retrograde, and after it goes direct. This is especially true if the items are connected to technology, transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.), or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) Click here to read my blog on the subject.

Friday late morning, at 11:15am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC, that will last for a little over 3.5 hours, until 2:38pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to remain flexible and practice self-care — take good care of your emotional and physical body — that way, you’ll remain able to empower yourself and others.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday late morning until afternoon ahead of time.

Friday afternoon, at 2:38pm  EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until next week, Monday very early morning (June 6th).  We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired — or at the very least acknowledged — for our greatness 🙂

So hand out some compliments, let people know how proud you are of them, and tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things, and be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games, and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.

If there are no “outer children” around, how about getting in touch with your “inner child” — it’s definitely easier for the next two-and-a-half days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun that you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

Saturday, June 4th:

Saturday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday afternoon for details).

Saturday early evening, at 5:47pm EDT, Saturn comes to a halt in 25 degrees of Aquarius and begins its yearly Retrograde phase until Oct. 22nd/23rd. We will get very clear on what we are truly committed to — or not — and on how we are living our lives in regard to our physical reality. We will also get clear on what is realistic when it comes to our various networks and communities (online and locally).

Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments — and our ability to “do” life on life’s terms. When this planet comes to a halt and turns retrograde, we get to see where we need to create or renew our commitments. As best as you can, take it all in and see where you would like to make adjustments. You will get a chance to do just that for the next 4.5 months.

This Retrograde phase is also inviting us to take a closer look at our current long-term commitments and limitations in our communities and affiliations and start restructuring anything that has slipped out of alignment with who we have become.

Where do we need to have better boundaries and be more realistic about our own and other people’s limitations? What is demanding our attention regarding all of this?

If you have an Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-27 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio, you will be more affected by this Retrograde-phase. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn (because Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

Saturday evening, after 7:23pm EDT, it’s time to take action on our New Moon intentions. if you set Intentions on Monday or Tuesday this week, after the New Moon became exact, this evening will be the best time to start taking relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to me?

Sunday, June 5th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday afternoon for details).

Sunday late afternoon, we are being invited to focus on making realistic choices when it comes to connecting with others; do your best to be your most authentic, joyful Self when connecting with like-minded people. (Moon in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius, exact at 5:03pm EDT)

Also, on Sunday late afternoon, we are invited to make some internal adjustments. We may want to have some fun, but may also need to tune in to our intuitive inner voice. What do you hear when you get really quiet? (Moon in Leo quincunxes Neptune in Pisces, exact at 5:10pm EDT)

Sunday evening, at 7:12pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that lasts for a little over 7 hours, until 2:22am EDT (Monday very early morning — June 6th). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space for creative self-expression and fun, and also for talking, learning, or writing about physical pleasures and what is most important to you on the physical plane.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan ahead for Sunday evening until next week Monday very early morning.

Sunday late evening feels a little uneasy. We need to develop inner awareness around our two seemingly opposite pulls: on the one hand, a strong desire to accomplish; on the other, our need for play and fun.

We are asked to bring awareness to whatever it is we feel most passionate about: Are we after laughter and joy? Or intense and authentic emotion? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment. (Moon in Leo quincunxes Pluto in Capricorn, exact at 11:01pm EDT)

And…

A heads up for next Monday (June 6th): The Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo & VoC until 2:22am EDT; at which time, it moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Wednesday late morning. In the early morning, an opportune Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 4:44am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening on, and it will remain strong until next week, Thursday morning (June 9th). At around 7:30am EDT; Venus moves over the Solar Eclipse degree (from April 30th, 2022 – 10.5º of Taurus); More about all the details in next week’s forecast…
