Avoid Jumping in Too Fast

This week’s headline items: Mercury’s and Uranus’ stations intensify on Monday; on Wednesday morning, Mercury comes to a halt in Capricorn (as its retrograde ends) while also beginning its post-Shadow phase; the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Wednesday late morning; the Sun changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Friday very early morning; the New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Saturday afternoon; and on Sunday early evening, Uranus comes to a halt, ending its 5-months Retrograde phase.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday morning (for a little over 3 hours), Thursday early morning (for 9 hours), and Saturday late morning (for a little over 2.5 hours).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, January 16th:

Monday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon.

Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. It does so through subtraction — it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. This makes it an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits, or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.

The Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, “love me or leave me”, etc. It can therefore be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies.

Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, stay present to the fluctuations of your feelings, whether they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace the whole of who you are.

Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.

Also on Monday, Mercury’s Station phase intensifies, as Mercury is preparing to come to a halt on Wednesday morning — ending its 3-week Retrograde phase (more on Wednesday…). During this intensified Station phase (which lasts until Jan. 21st in 8°of Capricorn), we feel Mercury’s energies even more strongly.

Pay attention to anything “in your face” in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices, self-mastery, long-term goals, or public achievements. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury is moving direct again (to be more precise, during the Shadow phase that follows).

For the next 5 days, we need to be even more patient with ourselves and others — especially if there is a connection with long-term goals, communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. Give yourself and others a lot of space… as best as you can!

This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.

We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel “off” or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere — especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive. Going with the flow is recommended at this time (for more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here).

Here are some questions you could ask over the next 5 days: Am I feeling mentally scattered? Nervous? Am I overthinking? Am I trying to be in constant mental movement or stimulation? What information is truly needed right now? Am I trying to jump the gun on something?

What would it be like to connect and communicate only what is essential? What will get me 1% closer to that right here and now?

Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 6-10 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra.

Lastly, also on Monday, the Uranus Station intensifies until Jan 28th. It will come to a complete halt on Sunday (Jan. 22nd) in almost 15 degrees of Taurus, ending its 5-month Retrograde phase (more about that on Sunday…).

What we talked about on Jan. 8th still applies: when an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced, sometimes causing discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy picks up speed again around Feb. 7th (when the station phase has ended).

Definitely expect the unexpected. Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures and moving towards a new future — one that serves others as well as ourselves. Its keyword is “Freedom”: this aspect provides an opportunity to discover how free we actually feel. So… how free do you feel?

As best as you can for the next 3 weeks, pull whatever is “in your face” even closer and take a good long look at it: our intuition will be very strong and deliver sudden insights and ideas, especially around what needs to change in our lives.

Are you expressing your individuality to the fullest in your financial partnerships and intimate relationships? Are you connecting to a larger vision? Are you finding ways to reinvent yourself (or at least your pocketbook)? Is anything holding you back? What are you more aware of in connection with your unique visions, values, and financial freedoms?

Uranus also rules electronics, technology, and the internet — so don’t be surprised by interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are likewise ruled by Uranus, so these will also move more to the forefront of our awareness.

As best as you can during this aspect, stay open and flexible, go with the flow — and pay attention to messages from the Universe

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you felt this Station phase quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius (Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius).

Tuesday, Jan. 17th:

Tuesday, the Moon remains in passionate all-or-nothing Scorpio until 12:33pm EST (see Monday for details).

Tuesday, very early morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 1:42am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday evening (Jan. 14th) on; and it will remain strong until next Monday evening (Jan. 23rd). Due to Mercury’s Station Direct phase tomorrow (Wednesday), this aspect will be exact twice this week — the second time will be on Friday evening. This means we will feel this somewhat challenging combo for an unusually long time — all week long.

This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward, and we must make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed to see what needs adjusting.

We may feel overly courageous under this influence — and what’s more, we want to move forward, and we want to do so now — so avoid jumping in too fast or being too impatient. Check in with reality and make mature decisions because what we think, say, and do are not necessarily in harmony.

What’s more, instead of listening to what empowers us, we might listen to other, less affirming voices, and this could lead to our acting too quickly and possibly with anger. As you may have guessed by now, this is probably not a good day to make important decisions.

Awareness is key with this aspect: What demands to be done? How? How fast? What if you slowly processed new information with a fine-tuned awareness of your long-term goals, taking care to consider what works and what doesn’t as realistically as possible before taking action?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 7-9 degrees of Capricorn or Gemini? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars of Aries).

Tuesday late morning at 9:27am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC) that will last a little over 3 hours, until 12:33pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to focus on inner processes. As best as you can, release any fears or traumas that keep you stuck in the past, and deepen your connection to what you feel deeply passionate about out there in the world — you have an opportunity to become fully committed to a project or task now — something that might serve you long-term.

And, as always with a Moon VoC, don’t start anything new, stick to routine things, or go with the flow as best as you can. You may also want to plan Tuesday late morning until early afternoon ahead of time.

Tuesday early afternoon, at 12:33pm EST, the Moon enters optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.

We tend to feel more open, optimistic, and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence — and taking these two influences together, we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, as opposed to issuing or obeying orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us once they see what we see.

As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — but watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.

Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius — and it is currently transiting through Aries, making this a great time to explore our individual passions and goals. As best as you can, bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to the fulfillment of your own desires — and get excited about new paths and new projects.

Ask yourself: What might open up if I became more connected to “I am that I am”? What if I took a 5% more positive attitude towards myself and my personal passions and goals?

What might promote my independence and me walking my own path? What might do the same for growth around my sexuality and my human identity? What personal beliefs about my identity am I now ready to explore or go beyond?

Use this time to create more joy and pleasure in the pursuit of your own personal goals, especially if you are getting burned out from doing too much for too long.

Wednesday, Jan. 18th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Tuesday early afternoon for details).

Wednesday morning, at 8:12am EST, Mercury comes to a halt in 8 degrees of Capricorn and slowly starts its direct motion, ending its 3-week Retrograde phase. As best as you can, go with the flow, keep an open mind, and pay attention to anything in your face right now — you may need to address those issues again when Mercury moves through its post-Shadow phase…more on that in a moment…

We are slowly ready to shift our focus towards the outer world again, taking in new information and sharing from a new perspective.

When Mercury returns to its regular speed (by Jan. 23rd), communication and transportation will return to normal; the same is true of any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc.

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) — and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 6-10 degrees of Capricorn, CancerAries, or Libra?

Also on Wednesday, with Mercury going direct, Mercury’s post-Shadow phase begins — lasting until Feb. 7th…. as you may recall, I mentioned Mercury Shadow phases in this update a few weeks back: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it’s best to avoid the Shadow periods before Mercury goes retrograde, and after it goes direct.

This is especially true if the items are connected to technology, transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.), or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) Click here to read my blog on the subject.

Wednesday late morning, a Sun/Pluto alignment in 28° of Capricorn becomes exact at 9:44am EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last week, Sunday (Jan. 15th) on; it will remain strong until this week, Saturday morning. This alignment asks us to reclaim our authority and make fundamental changes in our world.

Some of the structures we built in the past may no longer be solid; they must fall now, to be replaced with something that empowers us. It is necessary to redefine feminine and masculine “powers”.

What do you need to acknowledge or embrace? What has been rejected or ignored? If you truly had choice in the matter, what responsibilities or authorizations could you reclaim that you previously handed over to others?

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following placements: 25-29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra or 0-1 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you may be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio).

Finally, on Wednesday late morning, at 10:53am EST, the Balsamic Moon phase begins when the Moon reaches 13° of Sagittarius. This lasts until Saturday afternoon when the New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact (more on that later this week… however, feel free to watch my New Moon video here)

We are being asked to slow down and get quiet to listen to our inner sensing/intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch; as best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath, and exhale any tension. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.

This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Thursday, Jan. 19th:

Thursday, the Moon remains optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 2:11pm EST.

Thursday early morning at 5:09am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC) that will last for 9 hours, until 2:11pm EST. Use this intuitive time to connect and collaborate with like-minded people, focus on the bigger picture, or commit to something that gets you excited about the future.

And, as always with a Moon VoC, don’t start anything new, stick to routine things, or go with the flow as best as you can. You may also want to plan Thursday early morning until the afternoon ahead of time.

Thursday afternoon, at 2:11pm EST, the Moon moves into ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Saturday afternoon. We tend to be more realistic, serious, and cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.

Our ambition surges and brings a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.

As best as you can during this aspect, avoid “should-ing” on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying, “I am doing the best I can, and that’s all I can ever do”

Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn — and it is transiting through Aquarius, making this a great time to look at our visions for humanity and anything we would like to accomplish long-term within our communities (locally or online).

It’s also a great time to take a more serious look at our various networks and connections to like-minded people; as best as you can, be authentic about your affiliations: Do they truly resonate with your personal vision for the future — as it stands now, rather than what it was 5 or 10 years ago?

Does participation in those groups or networks align with who you are now and where you see yourself 5 years from now? What do you truly want to commit yourself to?

This Moon placement also starts the build-up to the New Moon (exact on Saturday afternoon). Feel free to watch my New Moon video here, if you haven’t seen it yet!

Thursday evening has lots of energy and a strong desire for accomplishment; we are invited to make adjustments and find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations. As best as you can, make space for pursuing your passions, self-growth, and long-term commitments — flexibility is key! (Moon in Capricorn squares Jupiter in Aries, exact at 8:29pm EST).

Friday, Jan. 20th:

Friday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn all day (see Thursday afternoon for details.

Friday early morning, at 3:30am EST, the Sun changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking, and objective Aquariuswhere it will journey until February 18th. We have advancement and progress in our hearts for the next four weeks.

We want to get off the beaten path, leaving behind old and outdated ways of thinking and doing, throwing off personal and social conditioning, those restrictions, limitations, and inhibitions that may once have felt safe but now feel constraining.

Our idealism runs strong, but we can have some fixed ideas about how we want to accomplish these ideals although we are open to new ideas in theory, in practice, we may be quite stubborn. Finally, we are also definitely more aware of the impact each individual has on society.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Aquarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aquarius, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more objective than usual, and working towards a vision for the future might be just the thing for you to do.

Friday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 8:06pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday evening (Jan. 14th) on; it will remain strong until next Monday evening (Jan. 23rd). Due to Mercury’s Station Direct phase, this aspect has become exact twice this week; the first time was very early on Tuesday morning. This means we will feel this somewhat challenging combo all week long — an unusually long time.

How? How fast? What if you processed new information slowly, with a fine-tuned awareness of your long-term goals, taking care to consider what works and what doesn’t as realistically as possible before taking action?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 7-10 degrees of Capricorn or Gemini? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars of Aries).

Saturday, Jan. 21st:

Saturday, the Moon remains in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn until 1:29pm EST (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Saturday late morning, at 10:52am EST, we enter a Moon Void of Course (VoC) that will last a little over 2.5 hours until 1:29pm EST. Use this intuitive time to focus on long-term successes. We might get a little obsessed with a project or task — as best as you can, take breaks, and don’t forget to practice a little self-care

As always with a Moon VoC, don’t start anything new, stick to routine things, or go with the flow as best as you can. You may also want to plan Saturday late morning until the afternoon ahead of time.

Saturday early afternoon, at 1:29pm EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until next week, Monday early afternoon. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, and progress are promoted while the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or outer space… Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius — and this planet is currently moving through Taurus, making these next two days a great time to look at our physical connection to our own body, finances, and whatever is most important to us on this planet.

It’s also a great time to innovate and make changes in our lives around any physical matters that no longer serve us or keep us stuck in the past; we need to elevate our thinking if we want our bodies and the planet to vibrate at a higher frequency.

Ask yourself: Do I need to give my body something different to raise it to a higher vibration? When I tune in to myself, what insights does my body provide?

Where have I become too rigid in connection with my body, my physical resources, or my talents? Where have I become too comfortable with those things? What is my connection to the Earth? To Nature? Do I need more physical space? More physical movement?

Saturday late afternoon, at 3:53pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 1.5° of Aquarius, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. I also recommend you watch my video on the subject.

This New Moon is another SuperMoon (the second of four Super New Moons in a row). These occur when the Moon becomes either Full or New at its closest distance to the Earth and are more powerful. They generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical, mental, and emotional bodies, leading to significant shifts in consciousness.

Since this one occurs in Aquarius, this Super New Moon invites us to go out there and connect with “our people”– with a tribe that resonates, a cause that feels aligned with our values and our need for stability and comfort, a connection that serves a larger vision for the future, etc.

We have three exalted planets in this Super New Moon chart: Mercury (the planet of communication & how we process information), Mars (the planet of passion & going after our goals), and Uranus (the planet of breakthroughs and innovation).

Mars in Gemini & Mercury in Capricorn are no longer in their Retrograde phases at the time of the New Moon, but they are still moving slower than usual, trying to catch up to their regular speed after coming to a halt on Jan. 12th and 18th. More about that in a little bit…

Uranus is at its most exalted, as it is coming to a halt only 26 hours after the New Moon becomes exact, ending its 5-months Retrograde phase in 15º of Taurus. More about this below as well…

With all this, we are being asked to be extra-mindful about connecting to our body, our finances, and the planet in an innovative and unique way; we are also being asked to be extra mindful about how we share and communicate, and what our inner dialog reveals about ourselves and where we are at.

The good news: from January 23rd to April 21st, all planets will be in forward motion. This indicates an accelerated time of manifestation for most of us — especially connected to new projects or ideas.

Ask yourself: What in my life is asking for accelerated progress? What could I do if I had the support of the Universe?

Let’s first talk a little bit about Aquarius and what this energy represents before jumping into the aspects of this Super New Moon chart: The highest vibration of Aquarius represents the threshold of individuation and the attainment of group consciousness, where we transcend differences of gender, race, religion, and nationality and realize that we are all members of the human race. It is the energy of equality and diversity, freedom and reform, collaboration, and community.

With the synergistic power of Aquarius —where combined efforts achieve far more than individual actions and where everyone matters — we could make tremendous progress in a short amount of time.

The Super New Moon in Aquarius trines an exalted Mars in Gemini and sextiles Jupiter on Aries. The Trine to Mars invites us to… to read the whole New Moon article, and get access to all the Coaching Questions in writing, click here.

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in the following: 0-4 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or 29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or LibraIf so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact and not during a Moon void of course phase.

That means that this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 3:53pm on Saturday, Jan. 21st, and 5:19am on Monday, Jan. 23rd, and then again from 12:36pm until 3:53pm, also on Monday, Jan. 23rd – (New York Time/US Eastern Time)

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast), and converting timezones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage and following me on TwitterI will post reminders to let you know when it is time to set your New Moon intentions

Sunday, Jan. 22nd:

Sunday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Saturday early afternoon for details).

Sunday early evening, at 5:13pm EST, a Venus/Saturn alignment 24.5° of Aquarius becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until next week, Wednesday evening (Jan. 25th). This alignment brings a sense of maturity and commitment to our relationships or communities and the things we most value. Relationships feel stable and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly.

We experience a new sense of realism in existing collaborations. A sense of duty may lead us to sacrifice a personal pleasure for a “cause” or long-term goal.

We are ready to face any problems in relationships that have been swept under the carpet — and they will likely surface. Renewed ties to old friends, business collaborators, or group affiliations are possible — as is a new sense of responsibility in existing relationships. This is not the best time to get involved in a brand-new relationship, collaboration, group, or “good cause”.

Ask yourself: What works for me? What doesn’t? Does my participation in various groups or networks align with who I am? Or with where I see myself five years from now? What relationships or affiliations do I genuinely want to commit myself to?

Do the communities in my life (whether local or online) genuinely resonate with my vision for the future — as it stands now, rather than what it was 5 or 10 years ago? Which “cooperations” or businesses do I want to support? Which do I want to disconnect or part myself from?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC), or personal planets in 19-25 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra, or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

Sunday evening, at 5:59pm EST, Uranus comes to a halt in almost 15 degrees of Taurus, turning direct again after its 5-month retrograde phase. We’ve had 5 months to re-evaluate humanitarian goals, group causes, and issues around freedom (possibly financial freedom). We’ve also reflected on our vision for the future on a material and physical level and where the obstacles to that vision might lie.

We are now ready to take into the world all that we have learned over the last 5 months and make some progress. Uranus is the archetype of revolutionary change, daring us to think way, way outside the box.

Uranus will be back to its usual speed by Feb. 7th; at that point, you could say it’s “change or be changed” — change is inevitable, so it might as well be a change that you’ve chosen consciously.

We may find that we disagree with other people’s values. We may be restless, even anxious, and therefore feel pressure to act (or react) regarding others — these feelings could also be connected to financial decisions or partnerships.

It’s time to innovate and change our lives around any physical matters that no longer serve us or keep us stuck in the past; we need to elevate our thinking if we want our bodies and the planet to vibrate at a higher frequency.

Note that Uranus also rules electronics, technology, and the internet; these may all be influenced by the planet’s slower movement right now.

Also, Sunday all day & all evening, is our time to set New Moon Intentions for this month — if you haven’t already done so on Saturday late afternoon or evening. If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon

And…

A heads up for next Monday (Jan. 23rd): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 12:36pm EST; at 5:19am EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last a little over 7 hours, until 12:36pm EST; at that time, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until next week, Wednesday early afternoon (Jan. 25th)and also on Monday, Mercury resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. Also, there are NO more Retrograde phases until April 21st… More about all the details in next week’s Forecast…
