Be Honest with Yourself

This week’s headline items: Mercury changes sign from Aries to Taurus on Monday early afternoon; the Full Moon in Libra becomes exact on Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning — this also starts Eclipse Season. Mercury enters its pre-Shadow phase on Friday, and Pluto slows down a bit starting Sunday as it gets ready to come to a halt before it goes Retrograde three weeks from now.

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for 8 hours), Thursday morning (for almost 30 hours), and Sunday early morning (almost 4 hours).

Before we get to this week’s Forecast, I last reminder:

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, April 3rd:

Monday, the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early evening; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome.

Monday early afternoon, at 12:22pm EDT, Mercury changes signs from enthusiastic, fast-paced Aries to steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey for an unusually long time, until June 11th, due to its upcoming Mercury Retrograde phase (in late April-May).

For the next 10 weeks, our thinking shifts gears: we want to connect to others in a realistic, down-to-earth way, and we “say it like it is”. We appreciate common sense; we rely on our senses when it comes to processing information.

A well-developed sense of color, smell, and touch are characteristic of this Mercury position, so as long as Mercury is in Taurus, we will be drawn towards the “tasteful” in the realm of the five senses. We are more likely to have a no-nonsense approach to decision-making, and our ideas are often very practical and useful at this time.

When it comes to learning, we prefer demonstrations, concrete answers, and basic concepts for the next 10 weeks. We learn best when we see real-world uses for the theories we are trying to absorb. We simply process information better when we can personalize it (“what use is it to me?”) and attach it to the practical world.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus? If so, you may feel more talkative during this time. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you may need to slow down and “smell the roses”.

Monday afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 2:55pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last Saturday (April 1st); it will remain strong until this Wednesday. This aspect could create some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with financial or personal resources.

We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by continually taking a courageously heartfelt approach and by being authentic and heart-centered in our self-expression.

We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect, an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.

However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regard to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus, and effort now.

We have a great love of debate but should be careful that we don’t overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to “convert” them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. We may also want to dial back on taking things personally!

As best as you can, connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words with care and speak from a deeply connected and empowered place. Remember: Love expands us — and does the same for other people, and even life itself —  while fear paralyzes!

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in degrees of 0-3 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or 27-29 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra, or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Tuesday late morning, at 9:50am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for 8 hours, until 5:51pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between head and heart, facts and faith, reason and intuition.

It’s a great time for connecting with others and being of service. You may also want to talk to your pets or engage in more spiritual conversations that can also support our physical well-being.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday late morning until the late afternoon/early evening ahead of time.

Tuesday late afternoon/early evening, at 5:51pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Friday very early morning. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time as we seek the approval of others.

We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation — but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to “yes” more easily than we might like.

We may also be able to see both sides of the equation so well that we can’t make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm — even if it’s “No”   One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.

Wednesday, April 5th:

Wednesday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Tuesday late afternoon for details).

Wednesday until midnight EST is your last chance to take advantage of the EARLY BIRD SPECIAL for the upcoming Forecasting Forum, live on Friday, April 7th, at 5pm EDT.

Wednesday early afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 12:21pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build on Tuesday morning; it will remain strong until Thursday night. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be honest with ourselves.

How can we get the most from this opportunity? Through honest communication, we have a chance to clear up any misunderstandings. As best as you can, allow yourself to tune in and transcend your conditioned, automatic responses. A good place to start is with a commitment to better understand your conditioning and thought processes.

If we take this chance to see things more clearly and connect to ourselves more lovingly, we could get a good dose of reality and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 1-5 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn, or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, and Virgo, and Saturn rules Capricorn).

Wednesday evening, a Sun/Chiron alignment in 16º of Aries becomes exact at 6:18pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build last Sunday evening (April 2nd); it will remain strong until this Saturday evening. This gives us an opportunity to heal insecurities or shame through conscious awareness.

Becoming aware of old wounds or limitations is the first step toward healing them. Bringing compassion, self-acceptance, and love to it is the second. Together, steps one and two make for a beautiful healing experience. Feel free to also read my article on Chiron in Aries.

It will help to stay grounded — connected to the Earth and your body. If waves of anger or frustration come up, let them, and simply observe the waves. Ask yourself: Am I the “wave” or am I more than that? As best as you can, allow all “waves” to wash ashore, and allow yourself to rest as the vastness that you are (just like the ocean is to the waves).

For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your own personal healing journey at this time, feel free to get my most recent talk, “Healing the Wounded Masculine: Chiron in Aries — a Holistic Approach to How we Show Up in the World”. I recorded this in-depth exploration of Chiron in Aries for an Astrology Conference in Dec. 2022 (BDTB6) — now available on my website at a discounted price: click here to learn more.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you will be more aware of this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).

Thursday, April 6th:

Thursday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Tuesday late afternoon for details).

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, at 12:34am EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 16 degrees of Libra. All Full Moons bring an opportunity for increased awareness and integration of the traits connected to the relevant Full Moon polarities, especially those that have been neglected or suppressed.

This Full Moon has heightened effects on us for several important reasons: first, it is the beginning of Eclipse Season — a time of uncertainty and change. A time that invites us to allow for a consciousness upgrade until the next Lunation that is no longer a Solar or Lunar Eclipse. In this case, Eclipse Season lasts until May 19th (until the New Moon in Taurus becomes exact).

So the questions here are: What am I aware of? What will I choose? Where will I focus my mind? My Heart? What might become possible if I got 5% more comfortable with being in transition?

Then there are some powerful aspects in this Lunar chart:

  • Mars, the ruler of Aries, is currently in Cancer and makes a wide Square aspect to the Full Moon polarity Libra-Aries!
  • Pluto in Aquarius makes a close Square to the Moon Nodes in Scorpio-Taurus
  • The Moon in Libra opposes a Chiron/Sun/Jupiter alignment in Aries and quincunxes Uranus in Taurus
  • A Kite configuration involving a Water Grand Trine with Mars-Saturn-South Node, and two Sextiles to the Mercury/North Node alignment in Taurus

There are some other aspects in this Full Moon chart, and we will address all of them in a moment — and if you are a Member of my online community, feel free to also watch my Full Moon video here

On Tuesday late afternoon (April 4th), the Moon entered Libra; this started the energetic build-up towards this eventful Full Moon — and almost 43 hours laterthe Sun in Aries opposes the Moon in Libra.

Ask yourself: How far have I come with the Intentions I set around March 21st’s New Moon? If I’m not where I’d like to be with those intentions, what new course might take me closer to my goals?

The Libra-Aries polarity highlights the spiritual dance between various polarities:

  • individual drives/goals and one-on-one relationships
  • masculine and feminine (in their ideal versions)
  • independence and collaboration

Whether we are single or partnered up, we are all in relationship to someone — any one-on-one relationship counts here — business, personal, health-related, etc.

To read more about the shadow sides of the Libra-Aries polarity and get access to all the coaching questions, please click here to read the whole article.

Please note that the Shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or embrace, but it is an essential process to move into the lighter/higher vibrations of any sign.

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 14-18 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn, or Cancer? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Thursday morning, at 8:43am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 30 hours, until 2:29am EDT (Friday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to open up your consciousness through other people. As best as you can, expand your perspectives about life and relationships. Do your best to balance your need for harmony and fairness against exploring yourself and your goals from a higher perspective.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday morning until Friday very early morning ahead of time.

Friday, April 7th:

Friday, the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 2:29am EDT (see Tuesday late afternoon and Thursday morning for details).

Friday at 2:29am EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Sunday morning. We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities”

Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs through subtraction — it encourages us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits, or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.

Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity — it’s “in or out”, “with us or against us”, and “love me or leave me”. It can therefore be stormy — a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we “work” the energies …

Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward — act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings — no matter if they’re “polite” or “timely”. Feelings aren’t facts, but they are information — and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.

Know thyself — and love thyself — you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes “Force” to show up — and that’s ultimately what disempowers us and others.

Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio — and it is currently transiting through Aquarius, making this a great time to transform our visions for humanity and our future on this planet, in this universe — and to empower ourselves and others within our communities (locally or online).

It’s also a great time to dig deeper into our various networks and connections to like-minded people; so as best as you can, be authentic about your affiliations. Does participation in your current groups or networks feel empowering or disempowering? Do I feel a deep emotional alignment with like-minded people in my life? Am I allowing myself to hear the deepest calling of my Soul?

Ask yourself: Where am I looking to create more empowerment in my life? What about the lives of others? How might a self-expressed and courageously heartfelt approach serve my communities and foster better collaborations?

Use this time to create deeper, more empowering emotional connections with like-minded people, especially if you are feeling a disconnect with other networks or affiliations out there in the world. Remember: Love expands us, others, and life. Fear paralyzes!

Friday afternoon, an opportune Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 12:06am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday on, and it will remain strong until Sunday. This is an opportunity for compassion and kindness in our social interactions.

We are more attuned to the subtleties of human interaction and are more inclined to cooperate naturally with others. We tend to “feel” each other on an energetic level now; a sensitive approach is recommended.

We also have an opportunity to connect to our values and gifts from intuition and use our imagination to attract what we want: When you daydream, what would you like to experience? How would it feel?

Also, ask yourself: What might a “hug for humanity” look like at this time? How could a more sensitive approach towards others and myself support my collaborative efforts? How might meditation or mindfulness – being present in the now-moment to all the energies inside and around me – support my personal resources and what I value in others or myself?

Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 24-28 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn, or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra, or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).

Also, on Friday, Mercury enters its pre-Shadow phase when it reaches 5°51’ of Taurus; this is 2 weeks prior to its Retrograde phase (which starts on April 21st at 15.5º of Taurus)

What is the Shadow phase? The period immediately before and after a planet’s Retrograde phase is referred to as the “Shadow phase”; at these times, the planet travels again through the degrees of a sign (or signs) it had already passed through before and during its Retrograde phase. Mercury is usually in its shadow for about two to three weeks before a retrograde and three to four weeks after.

If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items — especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) — be aware of the Shadow periods as well as the Retrograde phases. If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters its pre-Shadow or wait until after the post-Shadow phase is over — post-Shadow phase will end on May 31st (in this case).

Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don’t put your whole life on hold just because Mercury is Retrograde or in its Shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the right time; as best as you can, trust that it’s all “perfect”

Saturday, April 8th:

Saturday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Friday very early morning for details).

Saturday, very early morning, an opportune Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 2:37am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Wednesday evening on, and it will remain strong until next week, Monday night (April 10th). This aspect provides an opportunity to connect thought to action.

Body and mind can align; words and deeds connect with ease. As with any opportunity, we have to “take” this one: it will not happen by itself.

Ask yourself: What actions call to me today? How are those actions connected to my personal talents, financial resources, or material possessions? How might a simple, truthful approach support my career goals and personal projects at this time?

As best as you can, stay connected to nature, focus on things that support your well-being in all areas of your life — and most of all: choose wisely! Ask yourself: what might I discover about myself and my desires if I truly listened to my physical body and emotional needs?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-9 degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Pisces, or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Aries  (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries).

Saturday morning, we are invited to make some inner adjustments: we feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice — a choice that demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: On the one hand, we have the urge to go deeper and connect with others; on the other hand, we are more aware of triggers and limitations connected to old childhood wounds.

As best as you can, be compassionate and understanding with yourself when feelings of anger come up (and even if shame follows expressions of that anger). Ask yourself: How might 5% more compassion support my relationship with myself and others today? (Moon in Scorpio quincunxes Chiron in Aries, exact at 7:49am EDT)

Saturday late morning, we are invited to examine our relationship to money, power, and resources (personal and shared). Ask yourself: How can I balance my need for a deeper, more empowered experience with others against my wish to honor my personal values and desire for freedom?  (Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 9:56am EDT)

Saturday afternoon/evening, we are invited to make some inner adjustments. We feel uneasy or awkward and need to make a choice. Making this choice demands we develop inner awareness around two very different urges: on the one hand, the desire to explore our individual goals and passions — and on the other, the need to merge with another and feel deeply and intimately connected to them. (Moon in Scorpio quincunxes Sun & Jupiter in Aries, exact at 12:27pm EDT & 4:51pm EDT)

Sunday, April 9th:

Sunday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 8:57am EDT (see Friday very early morning for details).

Sunday early morning, at 5:09am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 4 hours, until 8:57am EDT. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between what you know you value on a physical level and what intimate connections contribute to your own experience of wholeness and emotional satisfaction.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday morning ahead of time.

Sunday morning, at 8:57am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until next week, Tuesday afternoon (April 11th). We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.

We tend to feel more open, optimistic, and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence — and taking these two influences together, we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, as opposed to issuing or obeying orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us once they see what we see.

As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.

Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius — and it is currently transiting through Aries, making this a great time to explore our individual passions and goals. As best as you can, bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to the fulfillment of your own desires — and get excited about new paths and new projects.

Ask yourself: What might open up if I became more connected to “I am that I am”? What if I took a 5% more positive attitude towards myself and my personal passions and goals?

What might promote my independence and me walking my own path? What might do the same for growth around my sexuality and my human identity? What personal beliefs about my identity am I now ready to explore or go beyond?

Use this time to create more joy and pleasure in the pursuit of your personal goals, especially if you are getting burned out from doing too much for too long.

Also, on Sunday, Pluto starts to slow down a bit, getting ready to come to a halt to start its Retrograde phase three weeks from now (on May 1st).

Pluto’s energy is starting to get “louder” because it is moving slower than normal; its energy will be exalted until May 16th. This reminds us to pay attention to anything that is in our faces in connection with this energy.

Ask yourself: Where do I feel “out of control”? What deep-seated fears are coming to the surface? Where am I trying a little too hard to self-protect or control an outcome? What if I surrendered all my fears and trusted the divine power that resides within me?

And…

A heads up for next Monday (April 10th): the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. In the early afternoon, the Moon trines Chiron in Aries, exact at 1:28pm EDT; in the late afternoon, it quincunxes Uranus in Taurus, exact at 3:29pm EDT; in the late evening, it trines the Sun and Jupiter in Aries, exact at 9:48pm &10:55pm EDT. More about all the details in next week’s Forecast…
