New Moon in Scorpio – the article

On Nov. 20th at 1:47am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 28 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle.

Before we get started, I just wanted to give everyone a head’s up:

I will have a Black Friday Sale that will start on Friday, Nov. 28th and last until Sunday, Nov. 30th at midnight EST! All my readings will be 44% off during this time.

Now, back to the New Moon:

The Heart of This Lunation

The New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears. If you’d like to learn more about this Lunation, check out my video on the subject.

A Shift in Energy: Pluto and Jupiter

Pluto’s out of bounds movement ends one day before the New Moon becomes exact (on Nov. 19th) Yay! Feel free to watch my powerful webinar on the subject. Click here for more info!

Jupiter in Cancer is still stationing at the time of the New Moon and remains exalted until Nov. 23rd, asking us to take a look at our beliefs and perspectives/attitudes in connection with self-care, and our emotional sense of safety.

Neptune and Uranus: Revisiting Old Lessons

Neptune and Uranus will both be in an exalted degree(29º) at the time of the New Moon — both planets having retrograded back into their previous signs for the time being.

When a planet retrogrades back into a previous sign, it provides another chance to complete the lessons of that sign before moving into the next phase.

The last degree of a sign represents a desire to wrap things up anything that got started when the planet entered 0º of that same sign.

Neptune entered 0º of Pisces in April 2011 & Feb 2012, and reached the 29th degree for the first time in March of this year (4th-30th). This time around it will remain in 29º until Jan. 26th, 2026.

Think back to March 4th-30th and ask yourself: What “heart blocks” have cleared? What have I learned about interconnectivity? Trust? Intuition? Compassion? Energetic connections? What remains to be released? What could I feel my way into?

The clearer our connection to the universal heart and our intuitive knowing, and the healthier our relationship to the metaphysical plane, the more skillfully we will deal with the next phase, when Neptune moves into Aries in late January 2026.

Uranus entered 0º of Taurus in mid May 2018, and reached the 29th degree for the first time in mid June until July 7th of this year. This time around it will remain in 29º until Dec. 1st, and then again in April of 2026 (5th-25th).

Think back to mid June until July 7th and ask yourself: What have I been able to resolve on the physical plane? Or perhaps regarding my body? My finances? My personal resources, such as talents? How I value myself? Where my sense of worth originates? What remains to be looked at or dealt with?

The clearer our core values and the healthier our relationship to the physical plane, the more skillfully we will deal with the next phase, when Uranus moves into Gemini in late April 2026.

Key Aspects in the New Moon Chart

The New Moon closely aligns with a retrograde Mercury in Scorpio, giving us the signal to go within and process thoughts or information before moving forward.

The New Moon and the retrograde Mercury in Scorpio are part of a Grand Water Trine with an exalted Jupiter in Cancer, and Saturn & Neptune in Pisces, asking us to be methodical and realistic when connecting with others intimately — and it gives us a chance to release any narratives related to traumas from the past and fears that keep us stuck or disconnected from others.

Retrograde Mercury and the New Moon also oppose Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

This could create some anxiousness or a feeling of uncertainty. Focusing on what we want to create, rather than focusing on what we can’t predict, is key!

Pluto in Aquarius plays a crucial role: it is not only the modern ruler of Scorpio, but it is also still part of a Minor Triangle involving Uranus and Neptune; this remind us that spiritual practice isn’t a luxury; it’s essential.

Quiet time, reflection, and connection to our inner compass allow us to align with the vibration of the new world unfolding.

— Mars (the traditional ruler of Scorpio) currently in Sagittarius squaring the Moon Nodes in Pisces-Virgo, advises us that in order to do things differently, we need to be able to see things differently, and share our assumptions, attitudes and perspectives with others, as well as ask questions.

As you can see, there is a lot going on this month, yet again. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Water element and Scorpio

The Power of Water and the Scorpio Journey

With 7 of the 10 planets in Water signs, in addition to the North Node in Pisces, this New Moon calls us inward, to reflect and pay close attention to our feelings, our motives, and our projections.

Are we acting from love or reacting from fear? What needs to be purged? What could be healed? What strengthens our inner light?

As the second Water sign, Scorpio seeks to experience the full range of human emotion, including those we tend to hide or suppress — our anger and aversions, jealousy and resentments, grief and depression.

Scorpio also explores the depths of intimacy and the dynamics of power, learning that “truth is the most powerful aphrodisiac” and that real power comes from healing our wounding and integrating our shadow.

Scorpio relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.

Working with Shadow and Projection

Scorpio is also the sign most associated with the dark: the taboo, the subconscious, the unknown.

Our Shadow holds not only our fears, unresolved trauma, and less desirable qualities, but anything that has been repressed, including our: power, intuition, and other gifts.

Ask yourself: How might surrender, trust in a higher power, and letting go of resentment & fear give me a better understanding of peace, authentic connection, and inner strength?

Scorpio is associated with three images: the Scorpion (a solitary creature symbolizing self-protection and instinctive desire), the Eagle (who has a wider awareness and more conscious control over its desires), and the Dove (who has transcended personal desire, and brings peace and healing to others).

Ask yourself: What gifts might lie concealed behind my deepest fears? What if moving closer to what scares me the most, led not to a death of any kind, but always and only led to transformation?

Scorpio also deals with our Shadow issues. The “Shadow” is all the suppressed, denied, or undeveloped qualities of our personality. Unprocessed Shadow material pushes our buttons and makes us vulnerable to control and manipulation.

Suppression and denial, projection and blame keep us stuck; conscious awareness shows us the way out. Healing happens when we bring light to the dark, becoming conscious of what had been stored in the basement of our psyche.

Ask yourself: What treasures might be hidden in my personal Shadow? What personal alchemy would transmute that shadow into gold?

Noticing our own desires, fears, or sense of humor is important, because the Shadow also makes itself visible through those…

So, what Shadow issues need to be addressed over the next four weeks? Here are some questions to help you reclaim your projections: Who really bothers me “out there in the world”? Who do I love to hate? What specifically bothers me about them? Might some version of that apply to me?

Some other shadow-work questions: Who do I admire and why? What scares me most about myself? What recurring, uncomfortable, or scary dreams (or daydreams) do I have? What do I love to joke about that feels a little “edgy”?

Now, let’s talk about some of the planetary aspects in this New Moon chart…

Mercury Retrograde and the Grand Water Trine

Mercury and the Stories We Tell

The New Moon aligns with a retrograde Mercury in Scorpio. This brings a heightened mental focus toward our deepest desires and motivations that stir us in the direction of going after those desires. We feel quite focused, maybe even obsessed with a goal or endeavor.

Ask yourself: what motivates my behaviors? Where am I driven by fear or self-protection? Where do I follow destructive patterns that keep showing up in my intimate relationships or financial partnerships? If I don’t show these patterns myself, do people show up who do?

Due to Mercury’s Retrograde phase we have already covered this territory in late October (at the time of the last New Moon). We have been looking at narratives related to traumas from the past and fears that keep us stuck or disconnected from others.

Ask yourself again: What stories got between me and a fully empowered, passionate life? Am I now ready to release them as best I can?

What feels in alignment with my own inner truth, when I allow myself to let go of my fears and open my heart?

The New Moon-Mercury alignment is part of a Grand Water Trine with Jupiter in Cancer, Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, as well as an exact Opposition to Uranus in Taurus— the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

Let’s start with the Grand Water Trine:

Saturn in Pisces asks us to eliminate anything that keeps us disconnected from our intuitive nature and the natural flow of life.

Neptune in Pisces asks us to trust our intuitive knowing and be gentle, kind and compassionate with ourselves and others.

Jupiter in Cancer asks us to discover new perspectives and ways of looking at our emotional conditioning from our childhood, and how safe we feel with loved ones, as well as be vulnerable and receive their support.

This Grand Water Trine gives us a chance to release any narratives related to traumas from the past and fears that keep us stuck or disconnected from others. It support honest communication, recognizing the real issues, and making peace with the past.

Ask yourself: What stories have kept me from living a fully empowered and passionate life? Am I now ready to release them as best I can?

With this combo, it is easier to let go of fears and attachments. We are more able to have faith that everything will turn out for the highest and best interest of everyone involved.

Ask yourself: What might shift if I trusted the timing of everything currently unfolding? What if acceptance of “what is” was key to manifesting my goals?

Connecting from an intuitive place, trusting the process, and going with the flow are all crucial here!

Ask yourself: What if I could recognize any subconscious tendency to see myself as a victim of circumstances — or the actions of others? If I took 5% more responsibility during these situations, would it help own the outcome? Or maybe even alter it?

What would it look like to know myself or others more deeply? And to realize my interconnectivity with the whole Universe?

Opposition to Uranus in Taurus: Freedom and Disruption

Uranus retrograded back into Taurus on Nov. 7th, where it remains until fully moving into Gemini on April 25, 2026. On both personal and collective levels, when a planet is at the last degree of a sign (29º), there can be a sense of urgency and finality, a need to “get it right,” to remedy mistakes and do things correctly.

Since Uranus entered Taurus on May 15, 2018, it has illuminated where we need to resolve social and generational issues around materialism and mechanization, scarcity and survival, shame and self worth.

Uranus is the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

In Taurus, this urges us to let go of traditional values and focus on a better financial future for everyone involved. As well as shifting our relationship to our planet.

With this Opposition, we might experience some sudden and unexpected shifts in our thinking over the next four weeks.

Ask yourself: Where is my life being disrupted by “divine intervention”? What insights might those interventions hold for me?

We are invited to examine narratives we have about money, power, and resources (personal and shared). We may feel restless and impatient; we can be very demanding and difficult to please.

We tend to feel like progress is too slow, and we are tired of waiting. Ask yourself: How could I channel this “choppy” energy constructively? Or at least just burn it off?

We might also feel nervous or anxious as we become aware of what’s not working for us anymore (financially, physically, or emotionally) — and the itch to move forward and realize a new vision for ourselves feels very strong.

Maybe something needs to change… but we must take care not to rush into anything.

Ask yourself: How might staying calm in the face of uncertainty support my sanity? How might staying flexible benefit me?

What needs more space? How might thinking outside the box support my connections with others? Where do I need to take a new approach in my interactions?

This could create some anxiousness or a feeling of uncertainty. Focusing on what we want to create, rather than on what we can’t predict, is key!

Ask yourself: How can I balance my need for a deeper, more empowered experience with others, against my wish to honor my personal values and desire for freedom?

Do your best to channel this “choppy” energy in a productive way…

Pluto in Aquarius: Empowerment for the Future

Pluto plays a crucial role: it is not only the modern ruler of Scorpio, but it is also still part of a Minor Triangle, which remind us that spiritual practice isn’t a luxury; it’s essential.

Quiet time, reflection, and connection to our inner compass allow us to align with the vibration of the new world unfolding.

The longer the orbit, the deeper the process of change a planet symbolizes. Pluto takes 248 years to circle the Sun and spends about 20 years in each sign, versus Mars, which has a two year orbit and spends roughly 6 weeks in each sign.

While in Aquarius, Pluto invites us to reclaim our power, to be emotionally authentic when collaborating with others, community-driven, and aligned with what feels the most empowering to our and everyone else’s future — and bring this empowered vision to the world at large.

On a collective level, Pluto in Aquarius impels the transformation of communities, affiliations, groups of like-minded people, as well as major shifts in how we relate to a shared vision of the future.

Ask yourself: What’s my vision for humanity? Do I envision a future with enough space for all of us to be who we are? Or one where people condemn and judge each other for being different and unique? What role does fear play in all of this?

“Fear in the absence of real danger can endanger our mental and emotional health.” — LeAura Alderson (see her Acronym for FEAR and Spread the Love.)

And let’s keep in mind that impatience can be a form of fear as well: it can cover the fear of not moving fast enough or things not unfolding on time.

When we waste precious time dwelling on what may or may not come to pass, and on things we cannot control or change, we will inevitably feel disempowered.

But when we focus on a future that empowers all humans, on how we can elevate our connections with others, beginning with our own thoughts and behaviors, we will feel a zest for life.

Ask yourself: How might focusing on what I have influence over in the here and now, create an empowered future for myself and others?

Mars in Sagittarius: Courage Through Perspective

Mars (the traditional ruler of Scorpio) currently in Sagittarius squaring the Moon Nodes in Pisces-Virgo, advises us that in order to do things differently, we need to be able to see things differently, and share our assumptions, attitudes and perspectives with others, as well as ask questions.

Ask yourself: What is no longer true, meaningful, or right for me? Where do I need to be more openminded?

When does impatience and wanting to move fast create a more hostile atmosphere? What might happen if I channeled this fast-moving energy into my projects or physical exercise?

The Essence of This New Moon

To sum up, this New Moon reminds us that before we can bring in the new, it is a good idea to offer up the old; in order to move forward, it is best to release what has been holding us back.

Being open to trusting the process and going with the flow are key!

Most of our lives are shaped by fears: too much of something, not enough of something else… not being loved, not being liked, being judged, rejected, some form of loss, maybe even physical death, being the recipient of physical or emotional pain, etc.

Scorpio territory is not easy. Facing our deepest feelings and fears, confronting our demons and our death, is the most difficult work we will ever do. But the rewards it brings — inner peace, freedom, and feeling fully alive — make it all worth it.

This New Moon in Scorpio invites us to let go of whatever is dead (or toxic). Often, this is connected to past disempowerment — fears based either on “what was”, or on a possible future in which we would not be ok — and all this can be scary and stir up the desire for control or to protect ourselves.

The survival brain thinks that control brings power, certainty, and stability… but it’s all an illusion based in fear.

Remember: “Fear” is resistance to life or experiences, whereas “Love” is acceptance of life in all its forms: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Ask yourself: As best as I can, could I acknowledge any self-resistance? Resistance toward others? To life itself?

And, just for right now, could I simply let go of wanting to resist what is? Could I set all inner tension free… just as best as I can… just for right now… just as an exercise in freedom?

The key is to realize that “letting go” is not about loss, but about transformation — and, ultimately, about feeling empowered, since every ending is also a new beginning.

Trust also plays a big part here, just as it does in all our intimate relationships and authentic connections — and trust, whether in ourselves or with others, is something that develops over time — and for those of us who have experienced traumatic events or circumstances, this process can take a little longer.

So, as best as you can, be patient and kind with yourself, if you are in that category.

Ask yourself: What if true intimacy were only possible when I allow for the full range of emotions? What if my capacity for love and joy grew directly in relation to my ability to embrace my fears and pain?

Intention Setting

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 1:47am on Nov. 20th, and 1:47am on Nov. 22nd. Except for a 62-minute Moon void of course on Nov. 20th from 4:24am until 5:26am — all of the above-mentioned times are in the New York Time zone/US Eastern Time.

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on Twitter (“X”). I will be posting reminders on Nov. 20th, 21st, and 22nd to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

Closing Thoughts

Again, flexibility and open-mindedness will help for the next 28 days. Embracing our humanity and practicing self-compassion, especially around our inner processes and limitations, provides an opportunity for healing.

Feel free to also watch my video on the subject…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in the following: 26-29 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, or 0-1 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

New Moon in Libra — the article

A Call to Transform Through Connection

On Oct. 21st at 8:25am EDT, a New Moon becomes exact at almost 28.5 degrees of Libra  —  you may also want to watch my New Moon video.

Are you feeling unusually focused, driven — and yet tired, reactive, or emotional?

That’s no surprise. Pluto’s station phase and “out-of-bounds” movement are at their peak, amplifying intensity until Oct. 24th. Our Souls are craving transformation. We’re being asked to release outdated programming and recalibrate to higher frequencies — an evolutionary nudge from the cosmos itself.

With the Sun and Moon in Libra, and Venus — Libra’s ruler — in her own sign, all three forming aspects to a highly exalted Pluto in Aquarius, this New Moon carries deep potency. It calls us to let go of long-standing patterns in our relationships, collaborations, and connections — especially those that stifle authenticity, growth, or Soul intention.

If you’d like to explore Pluto’s current intensity in greater depth, get & watch my webinar “Exalted & Out of Bounds — Pluto at its Most Intense”

The Larger Picture: Three Major Configurations

The New Moon chart reveals three key energetic patterns shaping this moment:

  1. A Grand Water Trine
  2. A T-Square
  3. A Minor Triangle

Each holds unique lessons and invitations for our evolution.

The T-Square: Stretching Toward Authentic Safety

The T-Square involves Jupiter in Cancer as the focal point, forming challenging squares to both the New Moon in Libra and Chiron in Aries.

Squares mark turning points — moments when we must grow beyond who we’ve been. With Jupiter at the center, we may feel impatient, reactive, or overextended. It’s easy to overpromise or push past our natural limits right now, but what’s truly called for is realism and self-compassion.

We are profoundly shaped by the conditioning we receive from birth — family, culture, religion, nation, education. To individuate and heal, we must summon courage to live from our authentic essence rather than our conditioned persona.

This T-Square reminds us that even our sense of safety is influenced by social and familial programming. A new perspective on what feels “right” or “true” is essential for relating authentically — including our tender spots and sensitivities.

Coaching reflections:

  • Are my current needs and beliefs a reflection of my highest truth?
  • What attitudes or beliefs could I release that no longer serve my growth and healing?
  • What if my sense of safety wasn’t determined by others’ ideas — or even my own old stories?
  • Could I nurture my “inner baby” and allow myself to feel vulnerable and safe at the same time?

With Capricorn as the “empty leg” of this configuration, the healing comes through mature self-parenting — setting healthy boundaries, offering structure, and staying grounded even in moments of vulnerability.

More questions to explore:

  • Where am I on my journey toward greater self-acceptance?
  • What boundaries could help me feel safe while being open?
  • Could I slow my pace just a little — and honor where I am, one day at a time?

The Grand Water Trine: Emotional Integration & Grace

This harmonious alignment between Mercury–Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer, and Saturn in Pisces supports deep emotional healing and intuitive flow.

It invites us to follow inner guidance, to rest when needed, and to soften toward past experiences or traumas. The energy encourages release — particularly from old emotional attachments — helping us trust the unfolding process and stretch gently beyond our comfort zones.

Coaching reflections:

  • Could I slow down and notice what’s truly happening inside and around me?
  • Could I allow life to “be” exactly as it is — and exactly as it isn’t?
  • Could I trust that everyone, including myself, is exactly where they need to be?
  • How might forgiveness and open-heartedness deepen this process?

Mercury’s role adds a mental clarity that helps us rewrite the stories we tell about pain or fear.

Ask yourself:

  • What stories have kept me from living a fully empowered and passionate life?
  • Am I ready to release them, even a little?
  • What might shift if I trusted the timing of everything currently unfolding?

The Minor Triangle: New Consciousness Emerging

This configuration — Neptune in Aries, Pluto in Aquarius, and Uranus in Gemini — is composed of outer planets that reflect the Soul’s collective evolution. All are in early degrees of their signs, symbolizing new territory and the birth of innovative social consciousness.

We’re being called to act from conviction and courage — to be bold yet discerning. The inner critic must rest while our higher self steps forward.

These energies remind us that spiritual practice isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. Quiet time, reflection, and connection to our inner compass allow us to align with the vibration of the new world unfolding.

Coaching reflections:

  • Where can I apply myself in a purer, more loving way?
  • What might become possible if I acted with my heart wide open?
  • How can I elevate my thinking — allowing my mind and connections to vibrate at a higher frequency?

Neptune’s Return to Pisces: A Full-Circle Journey

Within 24 hours of the New Moon, Neptune retrogrades back into 29° Pisces, an exalted degree, completing a journey begun in 2011–2012 when it first entered this sign.

This marks a moment of spiritual completion. We’re asked to remember that everything — even dense matter — is energy. Everything is interconnected.

Coaching reflections:

  • If everything is energy, might it make sense to be fully conscious of how I treat everyone and everything — including myself?
  • How might mindfulness or meditation support this awareness in daily life?
  • Could my thoughts and behaviors influence the collective field we all share?

Pluto’s Aspects: Transformation Through Relating

Pluto forms an out-of-sign Square to the New Moon and a Trine to Venus in Libra.

The Square pushes us to evolve through our relationships — to confront fears, own our shadow, and make space for rebirth. The Trine, meanwhile, brings magnetic new connections or deepened bonds that transform us through love and truth.

Coaching reflections:

  • Where am I ready to release a pattern, fear, or attachment that keeps me small?
  • What kind of new beginning could emerge once I make space for trust, empowerment, and higher alignment?
  • Where am I being asked to surrender control — and trust the universal process?

Integration: Becoming Whole Through “The Other”

As the seventh sign of the zodiac, Libra marks a turning point in our evolution — from personal identity to interpersonal balance.

Whatever remains unintegrated from the first six signs now shows up in our relationships. Others mirror our inner dynamics, inviting us toward wholeness.

Ask yourself:

  • What if harmony and peace were mine to create within me first?

Each moment offers choice. We can fall into regret or blame — or we can choose differently next time. Each breath is a new beginning, each interaction a new possibility for awareness and alignment.

Intention Setting: Working with the Energy

This New Moon is an excellent time to set intentions for the lunar cycle. The optimal window opens between 11:42am on Tuesday (Oct. 21st) and 8:25am on Thursday (Oct. 23rd), once the Moon leaves its brief void-of-course phase.

If time zone conversions aren’t your thing, follow me on Facebook or Instagram for reminders when the window opens.

==> For a full guide on how to set your New Moon Intentions, click here

Special note: If your Ascendant or personal planets fall between 26–29° of Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, or 0–1° of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius, you’ll likely feel this lunation most strongly. The same applies if your Sun or Ascendant is in Leo or Cancer.

Closing Thought

This New Moon in Libra reminds us that transformation doesn’t require force — only awareness and willingness. When we honor vulnerability, authenticity, and connection, we align with the Soul’s desire to evolve through love.

New Moon in Virgo – the article

On August 23rd at 2:07am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 0º23’ degrees of Virgo, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. We start to feel the effects of this New Moon the moment the Moon enters Virgo, 43 minutes before the New Moon becomes exact. Feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Before we get started, I just want to mention my next Star Hour on the Soulivity Community platform.

This is a FREE Livestream event. Join us Saturday, August. 23rd at 12:30pm EDT/9:30am PT/5:30pm London-time!

==> RSVP here to get a reminder email — and if this is your first time joining us, please allow a few extra minutes to get yourself set up on the Soulivity Community platform.

Now back to the New Moon:

For several nights before and after each New Moon, we are in the dark, transitioning between old and new Moon Cycles.

We are called to turn inward, to be extra-receptive to the messages of our feelings, body, and heart. We are invited to get extra rest, release outdated energy patterns, and realign with our true soul intentions.

New Moons are thus the best time to set Intentions for the 28 days following. I will talk about the best and most potent time to plant some seeds towards the end of this article, so stay tuned!

This New Moon is special for several reasons: it takes place in 0 degrees of Virgo (an exalted degree), and is the first of two consecutive New Moons in the same sign.

The next Lunar cycle begins on Sept. 21st — it is also a New Moon in Virgo and the first South Node Solar Eclipse in this Earth sign in 19 years (to be precise, since September 2006). It occurred at 29º of Virgo — and the one this September will too!

Also, because of the upcoming Eclipses, this New Moon starts Eclipse Season and this will last until October 13th, 2025. The first Eclipse will be a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on Sept. 7th, followed by the very first Solar Eclipse in Virgo since the Moon Nodes have shifted into Pisces-Virgo on Jan. 11th of this year).

Eclipses call for physical, mental, and emotional recalibration, providing an opening to move to the next level of our personal and collective evolution.

Eclipse Season happens twice a year and it is usually an unpredictable time. Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical during Eclipse season!

Self-care is particularly important in times of stress and/or change — basic things, like making sure that we eat healthily and regularly, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest — and allow affection in from friends, family, or pets.

Anything started from scratch during Eclipse Season will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after the Full Moon that follows the last Eclipse.

If possible, defer any brand-new projects until after October 13th, when this Eclipse season is over. That said, if something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to come through

We will also talk about those upcoming Eclipses in our next Forecasting Forum on Saturday, Sept. 6th, so feel free to join us and find out more about how these Eclipses will impact your own personal evolutionary shifts.

This New Moon features numerous aspects involving the outer planets:

Uranus in Gemini squares this New Moon while Saturn and Neptune in Aries both make a Quincunx to it. This provides an impetus to “think different” and make inner adjustments so we can focus on our own path and follow our inner guidance.

On top of this, Uranus also starts its station on the day of the New Moon, preparing for its yearly Retrograde phase. This will make this innovative and insightful planet (related to cosmic breakdowns and breakthroughs) more exalted until Sept. 16th!

And then we come to Mercury, the messenger, ruler of Virgo

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in the following: 0-3 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius, or 28-29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 2:07am on Aug. 23rd, and 2:07am on Aug. 25th. (as with all my times, these times are in EDT, the New York time zone). There is no Moon VoC during the most potent time to set our Intentions, so we have free rein between those times.

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (as a reminder, that’s the US East Coast time zone), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page, or follow me on Instagram. I will be posting reminders during this most potent time to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Leo – the article

On July 24th at 3:11pm EDTthe Moon aligns with the Sun in 2 degrees of Leo — in other words, the New Moon will be exact (I recommend you also watch my New Moon video on the subject).

This begins a New Moon cycle; it invites us to tune in and seed anything we would like to manifest over the next 28 days. It’s an excellent time for all of us to set some Intentions for the next four weeks.

As always, I’ll discuss this process in more detail later in the forecast, and I’ll even provide you with the optimal times for doing so, so stay tuned for that.

Back to the New Moon:

There are several planets of importance in this New Moon chart:

  • Mercury is exalted and retrograde in Leo, making a wide conjunction to the New Moon
  • The outer planets are making some potent aspects to this New Moon:
  1. Pluto (retrograde) is exactly opposite the New Moon
  2. Uranus makes a Sextile and is in an exalted degree until August 3rd
  3. Neptune and Saturn (both retrograde) make a Trine

Planets in Retrograde motion signal what inner growth is necessary before outer changes can occur. Therefore, we are invited to slow down, double-check our motivations, and release what is no longer in alignment with our spiritual growth.

Other than the New Moon aspects, we also have:

  • A Square between Venus and Mars
  • Mars aligning with the South Node in Virgo
  • An exalted Chiron in Aries

More about all of that in a moment; first, let’s talk about the New Moon energies:

The New Moon in Leo highlights the power of our creativity and makes our inner creative child and any physical children essential.

For the next 28 days, the New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted Leo has us looking for heartfelt experiences. We need to express ourselves, learn about love, and, in particular, learn how those things work together to help us create from the heart and a place of joy.

Think about the keywords for this self-expressed fire sign: “proud, generous, hospitable, caring, warm, authoritative, active, open, fun-loving”… How could you live into those words?

Leo is ruled by the Sun, symbol of consciousness and the unique light we came to shine in this lifetime — this is what…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 0-4 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurusor Scorpio? Or do your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer? This New Moon may impact you more than others.

And last, but not least: the New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; the best time for the intention-setting process is soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and not during a Moon void of course phase..

This month’s best and most potent time would be between 3:11pm on July 24th and 7:02am on July 26th. As always, all times are in EDT — the New York time zone.

If you live outside the EDT timezone and converting timezones isn’t your thing, I suggest my Facebook page or following me on TwitterThreads, Bluesky, or Instagram I will post reminders on all of those platforms on July 24th, 25th, and 26th to let you know the best time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Cancer — the article

Wednesday at 6:32am EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in 4 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Before we jump in, I just want to mention a new Live Stream event I am doing once a month on the Soulivity Live community platform, called: THE STAR HOUR

Feel free to join our next free Live Stream on June 28th at 12:30pm EDT, and invite friends or family who have questions about Astrology that you haven’t been able to answer for them.

We’ll discuss current astrological events and your own experiences with the current energies and planetary shifts. And we will also talk about how to use this powerful tool in a compassionate and useful way that makes growing and evolving less scary and instead leaves you feeling more supported and ready for what’s to come.

Sharing is caring. Get my Soul-based perspective on Astrology and share with anyone who is curious to hear more about that.

Now back to the New Moon…

This upcoming New Moon is the first one in 23 years with a Jupiter alignment. The last one with a Jupiter conjunction in Cancer was in July 2002. This colors this New Moon in a whole new light — and all three celestial bodies will be making several aspects together:

  • A Square with the “new” Saturn-Neptune alignment in Aries (Neptune in Aries is also exalted, due to its upcoming yearly Retrograde phase, which begins on July 4th)
  • A Quincunx to Pluto in Aquarius (Pluto is also the Focal Point of a Yod aspect)
  • A Sextile to Mars in Virgo (Mars is also part of this Yod)

Here are some other aspects connected to this expansive, feeling-oriented New Moon:

  • Mercury, the planet of communication, aka “the messenger”, will also be in Cancer, making a sextile to an exalted Uranus in Taurus and a square to Chiron in Aries
  • Pluto in Aquarius trines an exalted Uranus in the last degree of Taurus and also sextiles not only an exalted Neptune in Aries, but also Saturn in Aries! This creates what’s called a Minor Triangle.
  • Venus in Taurus makes a close Trine to the South Node in Virgo and a Sextile to the North Node in Pisces

Before we unwrap the meaning of all of this, let’s first talk about the Cancer archetype:

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac, as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle amplifies feelings, instincts, and needs.

Feelings are an essential source of information about our true needs — they are a dashboard that tells us what is healthy for us. When we don’t heed that information, we become dependent on others for validation and direction, or lose ourselves in addictions and distractions.

Ask yourself: What might I do differently if my feelings were just little children who wanted to be heard? What price might I be paying for denying or suppressing their little voices?

Cancer represents the yin, receptive principle, which births, nurtures, and protects life. The Sun and Moon in Cancer remind us that we must also receive as well as give. Both constant giving and constant taking are unhealthy and unsustainable. Cancer is all about…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 6:32am today (June 25th) and 1:16am (on Friday, June 27th) and then again, 49 minutes later, between 2:05am and 6:32am (on Friday, June 27th).

Back to the New Moon:

One notable facet of this New Moon chart is the planetary line-up in Gemini, involving the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter!

With this much emphasis on Gemini, we are invited to pay attention to our minds, communications, and any information coming our way.

Gemini is the archetype of curiosity, communication in all its forms, and mental connections — it represents the development of language and intelligence, as well as our ability to adapt and relate to our immediate environment.

This is a “busy” energy focused on collecting information. It invites us to look at our mental programming and conditioned mind to see what new thought structures we might want to engage with.

Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) is closely aligned with the New Moon while in its own sign. The New Moon and Mercury in Gemini also trine Pluto in AquariusLet’s unpack that:

Mercury’s close alignment to the New Moon invites us to learn to better listen to ourselves and others, become more aware of our communications and exchanges, and see both sides of a situation.

Ask yourself: Where do I need to leave room for discussion when sharing my thoughts? If there were a handsome cash prize for listening twice as much as I speak, what would I do differently to win it? What if there were a bonus for listening with 5% more curiosity?

Our day-to-day mind (Mercury in Gemini) wants us to engage via email, text, phone, the internet, the news, chatting, connecting, and staying informed.

The New Moon and Mercury’s Trine to Pluto, conversely, helps us be…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-8 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So, this month, any time between 11:02pm on May 26th and 9am on May 28th. Then there will be a 4.5 hour period on May 28th, during which the Moon will be void of course, from 9am until 1:33pm. It is best to avoid setting your Intention during that time.

And from 1:33pm until 11:02pm on May 28th, still a great time to set your Intentions during the most potent time. (and please note that I provide all times in the Eastern Daylight Timezone, i.e., New York City) ==> For more info on setting New Moon Intentions click here

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), I recommend you join my Facebook Fan-page, follow me on Instagram, threads, or twitter/X, as I post reminders on May 26th, May 27th and May 28th to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Taurus — the article

On April 27th at 3:31pm EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in almost 8 degrees of Taurus. This marks the beginning of a new Moon cycle.  Click here to watch my video on the subject.

Get quiet and listen for new messages or ideas as best as you can. If you pick any up, fold them into any intentions you set for the new Moon cycle — I will share this process later in the forecast and give you the best and most potent times for it.

Before we jump in, I invite you all to join me on April 26th at 11:30am EDT for a FREE event. I will be doing another STAR HOUR via the Soulivity community platform. Please join us live to get the maximum benefit! After April 26th, feel free to watch the replay, here!

This is a FREE event for anyone curious about Astrology, has questions about controversial issues, or has a hard time wrapping their head around something. Invite Family and Friends! ==> RSVP here

First, let me just say that Pluto, the planet most associated with transformation and the path towards greater inner power — is currently in Aquarius, and is exalted at the time of the New Moon (because it slows down for its yearly Retrograde phase)

Since Pluto will be exalted from April 22nd until May 19th, we will feel its powerful, transformative energy not only with this New Moon, but also very strongly with the next Full Moon which will be in Scorpio.

Secondly, This New Moon squares Mars in Leo and the exalted Pluto in Aquarius, creating a T-Square.

Squares signify important turning points that inspire us to shift our perspective and direction to make progress. They encourage us to stretch ourselves and grow beyond our previous boundaries and the comfort zones we have been in until now.

This particular T-Square has the Sun and Moon in Taurus as the focal planets; we might feel the stress of fast-paced interactions with others or life itself. We are asked to reinvent how we handle this stress.

Taurus longs to take it easy and enjoy life. It loves comfort and a comfortable routine, physical and material safety, and security. So, how can we work with this “stretch” aspect and keep our cool?

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 5-10 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.

This month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 3:32pm on Sunday, April 27th, and 3:31 pm on Tuesday, April 29th. The only exception will be a 1-hour period on Monday night/Tuesday very early morning, April 28/29th — there will be a brief Moon VoC between 1:18am and 2:34am. All of the above times are given in US East Coast time.

Again, feel free to join us for the next monthly Forecasting Forum live on May 14th at 6:30pm EDT. Save the date! We will talk about Saturn’s shift into Aries, another important planetary change.

Saturn’s first pass into Aries will occur on May 24th! It will journey there until Sept. 1st, 2025, and after dipping back into Pisces for 5 months, it will remain in Aries until April 2028!

Solar Eclipse in Aries — the article

On March 29th at 6:58am EDT, a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse becomes exact in 9º of Aries, launching a new Moon and Eclipse cycle.

Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that occur approximately every six months. You may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.

This New Moon is significant for two reasons:

It is the year’s first Solar Eclipse and follows March 14th’s Lunar Eclipse.

It is also the final event of an Aries-Libra Eclipse cycle that began with the Solar Eclipse on April 20th, 2023 and continued with the Solar Eclipse on April 8th, 2024. We will have to wait 18 years for the next one; this cycle will start again in April 2043.

What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity since 2023? Where in your life are you called to leave The Comfort Zone? Has this been a humbling experience so far?

The Sun is 400 times larger than the Moon, but during a Solar Eclipse, the Moon blocks the Sun’s light because it is 400 times closer to Earth. This interruption elevates our consciousness, marking the start of new experiences, projects, or cycles.

This Eclipse is a Partial Solar Eclipse! These happen when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth but only partially covers the Sun.

This Partial Eclipse will be visible in the northeastern parts of North America (mostly Maine and northeast Canada), North-West Africa, parts of Europe, and Russia.

No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative. Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings.

They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in almost the same degree (8.5) and sign was on March 29th, 2006.

We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance,” not repetition — so think back to the Spring of 2006 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?

For more guidance on those questions, it is best to take a look at our Natal Charts — the House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which area of life is the readiest to embrace a healthy sense of Self and rise to a new level of consciousness around independence and forging our path, gently and holistically.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We will experience a release and recalibration because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded.

And for this Eclipse, this is especially true in connection with our relationship to our human identity and sense of agency — how courageous we feel about starting something new or starting something over.

This begins with our role in our interactions with others, whether we can be honest and direct about our personal goals and passions and inspire others to follow our example.

Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, seed anything we want to integrate into our personality, and improve our self-understanding. This will remain true for six months until the next Solar Eclipse (Sept. 21st, 2025).

We will dig into this in more detail towards the end of this article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions. Setting Intentions for Solar Eclipses differs from a regular New Moon! So stay tuned!

Eclipses are crossroads or turning points along our Soul’s Journey. They often mark events or situations that signify a critical shift in our lives, nudging us to change and grow, or face more significant difficulties at the next turning point.

If there is anything we haven’t been able to change since the Spring of 2023 that we have been toying with, now is the time to do it.

The next turning point will be on June 30th — when the Sun in 9º of Cancer squares this month’s Solar Eclipse degree.

As we remain in Eclipse Season until April 21st, the coming weeks could offer some tailwinds that carry us to significant breakthroughs; we are invited to learn how to be conscious creators, mindful of how our thinking and choices affect our personal and collective experiences.

As best you can, trust that whatever is leaving is making space for something better — the more willing we are to change, the easier it will be.

Stay grounded and flexible — and don’t jump the gun for the next 4 weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to observe the urge — unless it is connected to something that happens organically — if you are ambivalent about taking an action, better hold off until Eclipse Season ends on April 21st.

A couple of things to note for this Solar Eclipse chart:

* The Sun and Moon align with a Retrograde Mercury in an exalted degree
* Mercury aligns with Neptune (both in exalted degrees)
* Neptune moves into 0 degrees of Aries only 25 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact
* Mars, the ruler of Aries, is in Cancer, making a Square to Chiron in Aries and making several Trines to planets in Pisces (including Saturn, the North Node, Venus, and Neptune)
* Moon in Aries makes a “mutual reception” to Mars in Cancer

Before we go any further, let’s first talk about the sign of Aries:

This Solar Eclipse in pioneering, fast-paced Aries focuses more on our independence and dynamism  — you could say that we seek…

Since Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 4º orb instead of 2º — and since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 9º of Aries:

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-13 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 6-month Eclipse cycle rather than just the next 28 days.

Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. This is because we are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are pretty intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions — that said, it’s best to avoid setting them during a Moon void of course.

Given all this, here are the best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse: Between 6:58am on Monday, March 31st, and 1:42pm on Tuesday April 1st. Then again, from 4:26pm on April 1st until 6:58am on Wednesday, April 2nd. Note that all times above are given in US Eastern Time — i.e., the New York time zone.

Set powerful intentions — remember, they cover the next six months — and if possible, align them with the Aries energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EDT and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and/or following me on Instagram, X (Twitter) or Thread, as I post reminders on those platforms when it’s time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Pisces — the article

On Feb. 27th at 7:45pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Pisces, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free also to watch my New Moon video on the subject

This Lunation also marks the beginning of Eclipse Season — which lasts until April 21st.

This is usually an unpredictable time, as we are recalibrating on a physical, mental and emotional level which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.

So the questions here are: What am I aware of until the end of April? What will I choose? Where will I focus my mind? My Heart?

What might become possible if I got 5% more comfortable with being in transition?

We will also discuss Eclipse Season in connection with the current Moon Nodes in more detail in our Special webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 6:30pm EST/3:30pm PST ==> You can join us live or register to get the mp4-video presentation.

Now, back to the New Moon:

New Moons mark the ending and beginning of a monthly cycle and are an optimal time to pause, reflect, and set new Intentions for the next 28 days.

Since this one occurs in Pisces, this New Moon invites us to connect with our inner divinity and ability to receive, trust our intuition, and contribute to life from a heart-centered and empathic place.

In this New Moon chart, we have two highly exalted planets, Venus and Mars, representing the feminine and masculine principles.

Mars is highly exalted due to its Station phase, as it nears the end of its 11-week Retrograde phase on Feb. 23rd (four days before the New Moon becomes exact).

With Mars highly exalted in Cancer, we feel more protective of our loved ones, homes, and feelings. We will be more aware of safety regarding achieving our goals.

Mars will make several harmonious aspects in this New Moon chart to the planets in Pisces. I will go into them in more detail below — but first:

With Venus so highly exalted, we are encouraged to pay closer attention to what truly matters to us, including our values, preferences, likes, and dislikes.

This is also a time to reflect on how we spend or invest our money, what ignites our passions (and what dampens them), and what is important to us now.

Venus comes to a halt to begin her 6-week Retrograde phase on March 1st, two days after the New Moon becomes exact.

I covered those Station phases and the upcoming Venus Retrograde phase in a recent webinar, “Courage through Vulnerability. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it — and if you do not have access to it, just go to my webinar page here.

This New Moon chart has five planets in Pisces: the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Mercury, and Neptune.

Neptune (the ruler of Pisces) also conjuncts the North Node in Pisces, which represents our Soul’s current direction.

This alignment asks us to pay particular attention to our connection with the divine and our intuitive knowing & connection to the Universe. It also invites us to…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 7-12 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Before I talk about New Moon Intentions, I’d like to mention again all the ways you can deepen your own experience and self-alignment with the support of Astrology. Join us for:

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon Void of Course phase.

So this month, the two best and most potent times to set intentions would be between 7:45pm on Feb. 27th and 3:05am on March 1st and then again from 4:52am until 7:45pm on March 1st — New York time.

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram or Twitter/X as I post reminders on Feb. 27th, 28th, and on March 1st to let you know when to set your intentions.

New Moon in Aquarius — the article

On Jan. 29th at 7:36am EST, a powerful New Moon in almost 10 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. I also recommend you watch my video on the subject.

The New Moon in Aquarius invites us to go out there and connect with “our people” — to find a tribe that resonates and perhaps also a cause that feels aligned with our values and our need for stability and comfort. This connection serves a larger vision for our financial future and the future of our planet, etc.

This New Moon occurs on the same day the Chinese New Year begins, marking the start of the Year of the Yin Wood Snake.

Chinese astrology divides the zodiac into 12 signs based on years rather than months. Each sign is represented by an animal, and the system also incorporates five elements — Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood — each expressed as either yin or yang. This results in 120 possible “years” (12 animals x 5 elements x 2 energetic expressions).

Therefore the last time we had the year of the Yin Wood Snake was in 1905.

The Snake symbolizes wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation. The Year of the Snake is best approached with intuition, strategic insight, and intelligence.

The Wood element represents growth, flexibility, and harmony. It is associated with spring, new beginnings, independent thinking, and innovation.

This is a “Yin” year, which signifies a more introspective and slower pace than a “Yang” year. Yin energy is associated with calmness, receptivity, and inward reflection, suggesting that we can expect a year focused on introspection, healing, and personal development.

The best way to navigate the Year of the Yin Wood Snake is to conserve energy and focus on activities that move you forward. Listen to your intuition and slow down when you feel friction.

Ask yourself: Where do I feel friction? Where is my focus? What simple actions will support me in moving forward the most? Could I get quiet, tune in, and receive the answers to those questions?

Returning to Western Astrology, we have two exalted planets in this New Moon chart: Uranus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, and innovation — and Jupiter — a giant planet most associated with expansion and growth.

Ask yourself: What in my life is asking for accelerated progress? Where do I need to grow beyond what I already know? What is there still to learn?

As Venus — the planet of self-love, relationships, and values — enters her pre-Shadow phase on January 28th, we begin a journey that will ultimately take us through some profound inner exploration.

You can also read more about Venus’ pre-Shadow phase in my Weekly Forecasts blog: Jan. 27th – Feb. 2nd

The pre-Shadow phase starts just 23 hours before the New Moon becomes exact, offering us a chance to explore themes of love, self-worth, and relating in preparation for Venus’Retrograde cycle (March 1st – April 12th).

During our next Forecasting Forum on February 15th, we’ll dive deeply into this Venus Retrograde phase as it unfolds in Aries and Pisces.

We will:

1. Explore the exalted Energies of Mars and Venus to understand how the interplay of exalted feminine and masculine energies can support our growth and healing during this period.

2. Navigate Venus Retrograde with Awareness: We will reflect on the themes of self-love and connection that Venus invites us to revisit, clarifying how these energies may manifest in your chart.

3. Create Space for Questions and Shared Insights, providing an opportunity for real-time support and a deeper connection with our astrological practice.

Whether you join us live or watch the recording later, this Forum offers a unique space for exploration, connection, and support as we navigate the upcoming planetary shifts together.

Here is what we will cover in connection with this New Moon:

  • A planetary Line-Up in Aquarius and Pisces creates a robust focus on those two signs. The Aquarian line-up includes Pluto (the energy of transformation and desire for empowerment), Mercury (the planets most associated with processing and distributing information as well as communicating), and the Sun and the Moon – our masculine and feminine sides (our yin and yang, our conscious and unconscious processes)

With all this, we are asked to be extra-mindful about our connections with other people. It invites us to contemplate how we impact everyone’s life around us — consciously or unconsciously, on purpose or by default.

We are also asked to bring integrity and maturity to our connections with others and our collaborations — and to choose Love over fear whenever possible.

Let’s first talk a little bit about Aquarius and what the Line-up of planets represents before jumping into the other aspects of this New Moon chart:

The highest vibration of Aquarius represents…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 8-12 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Finally, let’s talk “New Moon Intentions”: The New Moon is the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact and not during a Moon void of Course phase.

That means that this month, the best time and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 7:36am on Wednesday, Jan. 29th and 6:29am on Thursday, Jan. 30th. Then again from 5:52pm on Jan. 30th until 7:36am on Friday, Jan. 31st – (New York Time/US Eastern Time)

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast) and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and following me on Instagram or TwitterI will post reminders to let you know when to set your New Moon intentions.

2nd New Moon in Capricorn — the article

On Dec. 30th at 5:27pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Capricorn, launching a new Moon cycle.

There are two quick things I would like to mention before we get started:

1) On Jan. 11th at 12:30pm EST, we have our first Forecasting Forum of the year! Titled: “Looking Forward – Looking Back” — A recap of 2024 & an overview of 2025!

We will discuss what we can expect for 2025 in more detail and in relationship to all the zodiac signs.

So, join us for this powerful 90-minute webinar. Early Bird Special is only $32 until Jan. 9th!  ==> After that time, it will be $37.00

Everyone who is registered also gets access to the mp4 video recording of the live event. Star Members are automatically registered, and Universal Members get an additional 10% discount anytime!

2) If you want to stay on the pulse of all the planetary shifts for this coming year and see how understanding these energies can serve you personally, become a Star Member and join us every month.

Now, let’s talk about the final New Moon of 2024:

Not only is this the second New Moon within a calendar month, it is also this year’s 2nd New Moon in Capricorn; the first was on Jan. 11th.

New Moons are good times to reflect on our lives and set new intentions. This is an excellent time to go within and plant a seed for anything we would like to accomplish over the next 28 days and beyond.

Since this New Moon will take place only 30 hours before the New Year begins, this year’s New Year’s resolutions will be particularly powerful! As long as you don’t make them during the Moon void of course…

Stay tuned until the end of this article to get the best and most potent times for doing New Moon Intentions or New Year’s resolutions!

With the New Moon occurring in Capricorn, we are directed to investigate our relationship with authority, not just “authority” in the external sense, but also our “own authority”.

The next section of this forecast will dig into this in more detail — you may also want to watch my New Moon video.

The highest vibration of Capricorn is self-mastery: the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, setting realistic goals, and healthy boundaries. So, the next 28 days are perfect for working on these areas. Since Capricorn represents the quest for self-mastery…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 7-12 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for the month’s Moon cycle — the perfect time is after the New Moon becomes exact (but not during a Moon void of course). You can also set your New Year’s resolutions at that time.

So this month, there are two best and most potent times to set intentions — the first would be any time between 5:27pm on Dec. 30th and 1:02am on Jan. 1st — and the second would be between 5:50am and 5:27pm on Jan. 1st (EST/New York time).

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Page and following me on Twitter or Instagram as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.

Again, we had a fantastic webinar on Dec. 13th about Chiron’s Station phase in Aries which will last until Jan. 10th! The webinar was titled: “Our Ancestral Wounds – Chiron Exalted!” We talked about how we can heal and help others heal in turn. I highly recommend watching this 98 min. webinar.

New Moon in Sagittarius — the article

On Dec. 1st, at 1:21am EST, the New Moon in 9.5 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact.

The New Moon in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius asks us to go beyond our day-to-day knowledge and look for a larger perspective. Also, feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Before we dive in, I just wanted to mention briefly two things that may be of interest to you:

Firstly, I am excited to say that we have another Soulivity Today Show: “Hot Astrology with Sonja”, which will air on Dec. 6th at 8am EST ==> We will discuss the perfect gifts for each zodiac sign and explain what they like best and why!

You can watch this show live on YouTube (or later as a recording), and if you live in California, you can listen to the radio broadcast on KMET Radio (98.1FM) at 8am PST.

In fact, you can listen to Soulivity Today on any of six radio stations across five of the biggest US media markets (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, and Seattle) — plus more than 15 podcast and streaming platforms.

Back to the New Moon:

New Moons are a great time to catch our breath, hit the pause button on our life, and set some intentions for the new Lunar cycle.

We will talk about the best and most potent time to set those Intentions towards the end of this article, so keep reading…

Lots to consider with this New Moon:

There are two exalted planets at the time of the New Moon: Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Leo (we also discussed this in our webinar: “Mercury, Mars, Saturn & Neptune  — All Exalted!”

**Star Members already have access to this; for everyone else, click here

Mercury starts its 3-week Retrograde phase 5 days prior to the New Moon becoming exact (on Nov. 25th in the evening)

Mercury is all about communication, collecting & processing information, our inner dialog, and our decision-making process.

During the Retrograde phase, until Dec. 15th, we are invited to reevaluate and reorganize our thoughts and any information we have absorbed or received in the last three months.

Ask yourself: Did I make any significant decisions in the past three months? What are my perspectives on those decisions now? What needs to be reconsidered? What needs to shift?

==> We also talked about this in our most recent Soulivity Today Show from Nov. 8th (feel free to watch or re-watch that episode)

Here are some highlights in regards to aspects in this New Moon chart:

  • This New Moon makes a wide conjunction with a Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius
  • The New Moon trines an exalted Mars & the North Node in Aries, creating a Grand Fire Trine
  • The New Moon squares Saturn in Pisces, and opposes its own ruler: Jupiter (currently in Gemini), creating a T-Square with Saturn as the Focal Point
  • Jupiter opposes Retrograde Mercury and sextiles Chiron in Aries (Jupiter & Mercury are still in a mutual reception)
  • Lastly, there are two more aspects in this New Moon chart: a Mars-Pluto opposition, and a Venus-Uranus Trine

More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s look at the wide Sun/Moon/Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius:

This combo urges us to re-examine our beliefs and their impact on our lives. It invites us to examine our direct experience, see what’s true now, and move forward only once we have…

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 1:21am on Dec. 1st and 10:47am on Dec. 2nd; then again from 4:09pm (Dec. 2nd) until 1:21am on Dec. 3rd — New York Time/US Eastern Time

Note that there is a Moon void of course on Monday — it runs from 10:47am EST until 4:09pm EST. Don’t set your intentions during those 5.5 hours — instead, tune in and allow your intuition to connect to the powerful energies of this New Moon while you wait.

If you live outside the EST timezone (i.e. US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook Page, follow me on Twitter or Instagram. I will post reminders on Dec. 1st and 2nd to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Scorpio — the article

On Nov. 1st at 8:47am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle.

Before we get started, I just wanted to give everyone a head’s up:

I will have a Black Friday Pre-Sale that will start on Nov. 22nd and last until Nov. 28th at midnight EST!

All my readings will be 44% off during this time. If you are a Universal Member, this 44% discount will be applied to the already discounted price of 10% that you receive with your membership. For Star Members, the 44% discount will be applied to the 20% discount you already enjoy!

Mark your calendar, and check your emails for the discount code!

I’m also excited to announce another episode of the Soulivity Today Show! My segment is now titled “Hot Astrology with Sonja” — join Brian Westley Johnson and me for the live show on November 8th at 8 AM, when we’ll discuss November’s energies and how to prepare for the last Mercury Retrograde of the year!

Now, back to the New Moon:

The New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears. Feel free to also watch my video on the subject.

Eclipse season ended on October. 24th. Yay! Pluto & Jupiter are back to their normal speed. Yay!

Pluto has Stationed Direct on Oct. 11th already, so we feel more focused on accomplishing something real and empowering. We want to throw ourselves passionately at our long-term goals, creating wins wherever we can.

A couple of other things to note for this New Moon chart:

=> The New Moon in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces, asking us to be methodical and realistic when connecting with others intimately or when creating financial partnerships.

=> Pluto plays a crucial role: it is not only the modern ruler of Scorpio, but it is also still at the apex point of a Kite-configuration — which includes a Grand Water Trine, this time both of these configurations will be with Mercury (instead of Venus) in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces.

We saw a similar planetary combo in the last Super Full Moon chart on Oct. 17th. This invites us to be emotionally authentic, self-responsible, and aligned with what feels the most empowering to us — and bring all that to the world at large.

=> Mars (the traditional ruler of Scorpio) opposes Pluto, both at the last degree of their sign (29º Cancer-Capricorn)! An exalted degree!

This might bring some intensity to our interactions with others. We are invited here to take extra special care of ourselves and not let fear get the better of us!

=> Mercury, the messenger of the heavens, plays an important role in this New Moon chart as well, as it makes supportive aspects to both Pluto in Capricorn & Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces

=> Mercury also opposes Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

This could create some anxiousness or a feeling of uncertainty. Focusing on what we want to create, rather than focusing on what we can’t predict, is crucial!

=> Venus squares Saturn in Pisces, opposes Jupiter in Gemini, and trines Chiron in Arieș; since Chiron also makes a sextile to Jupiter, it becomes the Solution point for the Venus-Jupiter opposition.

As you can see, there is a lot going on this month, yet again. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Scorpio energies…

Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.

Scorpio is associated with…

Solar Eclipse in Libra — the article

On Oct. 2nd at 2:49pm EDT, a Solar Eclipse becomes exact at 10 degrees of Libra  —  you may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.

Forty-eight hours before and after an Eclipse, we are experiencing heavy energetic downloads, so it’s best to wait to set Solar Eclipse Intentions until these intense downloads are complete.

Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that take place approximately every six months — this is the second Solar Eclipse in 2024 (in this particular Eclipse cycle that will be in effect until March 2025). The first Solar Eclipse of 2024 took place in Aries on April 8th.

Think back to early April and see what seeds got planted in your life concerning the last Solar Eclipse. Did you set Solar Eclipse Intentions on April 10th, 11th or 12th? Did something end or begin at that time? What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity?

This is an Annular Solar Eclipse; this occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while the Moon is at or near its farthest point from Earth. Because of the distance to the Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not entirely cover the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring of light around the Moon.

The Solar Eclipse will be visible from the Pacific Ocean (starting in Hawaii), parts of South America, the South Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. It will be most visible over the ocean.

No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally.

We also addressed Eclipse Season and the Solar Eclipse in Libra in more detail in our webinar: “Eclipses: Our Soul’s Journey Continues”. If you missed this fantastic online event ==> click here to get this fabulous 111 min. webinar

The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during such times.

This is the second South Node Solar Eclipse in Libra since the Moon Nodes moved into the Aries-Libra polarity in July 2023.

Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings. They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign while the South Node was traveling through Libra was on October 3rd, 2005.

We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Fall of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?

A couple of things to note for this Solar Eclipse chart:

1) The New Moon not only aligns with the South Node but also with Mercury in Libra; it also makes a Square to Mars in Cancer (who is also the Focal Point of a T-Square), and it makes a Semi-sextile to its ruler: Venus.

2) Venus in Scorpio is part of a Grand Water Trine with Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer.

3) Jupiter in Gemini & Pluto in Capricorn have a potent role in this Eclipse chart, as they are both exalted (due to their Station phases), and they both make exact Sextiles to other celestial bodies: Pluto to Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter with Chiron in Aries.

Sextiles are 60º aspects that create an opportunity that requires action; we must take advantage of these opportune energy combos to reap the benefits.

These are the major themes of this Solar Eclipse chart, and we will address them in more detail. First, let’s talk a bit about Eclipses:

During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.

This particular Eclipse Season started on Sept. 2nd, with the New Moon in Virgo, and it will end after the Super Full Moon in Aries that follows this Solar Eclipse (in other words, by Oct. 24th, 2024).

While Eclipse Season is underway, allow for new templates to download, stay centered, and do your best to ground from within — try using conscious breathing and conscious mental flexibility — and best of all, see if you can move to the “observer position” when it comes to the emotional and mental body.

And remember, this won’t last forever: on Oct. 24th, the downloads are complete. It is important to remember that Eclipses open the door to the next level of our Soul’s evolution.

As best as you can, don’t jump the gun for the next four weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to simply observe the urge. The exception would be anything that happens organically, but if you are ambivalent about an action, it is better to hold off until Eclipse Season ends on Oct. 24th.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We will experience a release and recalibration because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded.

This Eclipse will connect this process to one-on-one relationships, ancestral patterns that no longer serve us, and whatever helps us take a balanced approach to life.

South Node Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to redefine or release over the next 5.5 months — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.

Since this Eclipse aligns with the South Node in Libra, it asks us to…

The more an Eclipse activates our birth chart, the more we feel impelled to go to the next level. Because Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º — so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 10 degrees of Libra:

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 5-15º of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 5.5-month Eclipse cycle, rather than just the next 28 days.

Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. We are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are quite intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions… We also definitely do not want to do this during a Moon void of course.

The best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse are between 2:45pm on Oct. 4th and 2:45pm on Oct. 6th — (in US Eastern Daylight Savings Time — i.e. the New York time zone).

Set powerful intentions — again, they cover the next 5.5 months — and if possible, align them with the Libra energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage, following me on Twitter or Instagram as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Virgo – the article

On Sept. 2nd at 9:56pm EDTthe Moon aligns with the Sun in 11 degrees of Virgo, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. We start to feel the effects of this New Moon the moment the Moon enters Virgo on Sunday night (Sept. 1st/2nd).

==> Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

With this New Moon, we also enter Eclipse season! This will last until Oct. 24th. We will have a Lunar Eclipse on Sept. 17th and a Solar Eclipse on Oct. 2nd.

Eclipses ask us to recalibrate on the physical, mental, and emotional levels, which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.

Anything brand-new (and I mean brand, brand-new) started during Eclipse season will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after the Full Moon that follows the last Eclipse.

If possible, defer any major brand-new projects until after October 24th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to be.

If you would like to learn more about the upcoming Eclipses, and how they might be impacting you personally, please join us for our next Forecasting Forum on Sept. 18th at 1pm EDT.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL available until Sept. 16th at midnight EDT!

NEW! Universal Members get a 10% discount for all of my Forums at any time!

This New Moon features numerous aspects involving the outer planets: four aspects with Pluto in Capricorn, three with Neptune in Pisces, and three with exalted Uranus in Taurus.

This signifies an invitation to collectively shift consciousness. We are urged to work with these powerful energies for the benefit of ourselves and those we encounter.

All three of those planets are currently also in their Retrograde motion, inviting us to focus on making inner shifts and realigning ourselves with what no longer serves us.

Uranus is still stationing (exalted) until Sept. 13th; meanwhile, Neptune & Pluto are both in the last degree of their signs (29º), and thus exalted — their energies are “louder”.

Uranus is the loudest of the three, urging us to redefine our connection to the physical world and our self-worth; Neptune is asking us to trust our inner guidance and connection to Source-energy; finally, Pluto is asking us to reclaim our power, and live with purpose and a passion for life.

The Sun and the Moon in Virgo are part of a T-Square with Saturn and JupiterThese are “social planets”, linked to our social and economic contracts, agreements, and dynamics.

And then we come to Mercury, the messenger, ruler of Virgo, also currently exalted. He is quite involved in this New Moon chart as well.

I will talk more about this in connection with the planetary aspects of this New Moon chart, but first, let’s look at the Virgo energy of this New Moon:

Virgo provides an opportunity to learn about being of service — and what it might mean to strengthen our focus on improving our daily routines — getting organized, for example — and taking care of health matters.

The highest vibration of Virgo is observation, discernment, and analysis from a neutral standpoint to determine what works and what doesn’t.

Ask yourself: Could I release judgment from my life (starting with self-judgment)? Could I instead take a deep breath and discern what works and what doesn’t? What might this look like if I stayed completely neutral?

This New Moon cycle will be a great time to…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 9:56pm Monday late evening (Sept. 2nd) and 9:56pm on Wednesday late evening, Sept. 4th (New York-time). The only exception will be a brief 6 minute period from 12:06 – 12:12pm on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (that’s the US East Coast time zone), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page, follow me on “X” (the app formerly known as Twitter), or Instagram.  I will be posting reminders on Sept. 2nd, Sept. 3rd and 4th throughout the day to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.
