New Moon in Sagittarius — the article

On Dec. 1st, at 1:21am EST, the New Moon in 9.5 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact.

The New Moon in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius asks us to go beyond our day-to-day knowledge and look for a larger perspective. Also, feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Before we dive in, I just wanted to mention briefly two things that may be of interest to you:

Firstly, I am excited to say that we have another Soulivity Today Show: “Hot Astrology with Sonja”, which will air on Dec. 6th at 8am EST ==> We will discuss the perfect gifts for each zodiac sign and explain what they like best and why!

You can watch this show live on YouTube (or later as a recording), and if you live in California, you can listen to the radio broadcast on KMET Radio (98.1FM) at 8am PST.

In fact, you can listen to Soulivity Today on any of six radio stations across five of the biggest US media markets (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, and Seattle) — plus more than 15 podcast and streaming platforms.

Secondly, you can still get a 44% discount on my Readings until Nov. 28th at 11:59pm EST! Take advantage of that while you can! Get yourself and your loved ones whatever you need to start 2025 off right!

Back to the New Moon:

New Moons are a great time to catch our breath, hit the pause button on our life, and set some intentions for the new Lunar cycle.

We will talk about the best and most potent time to set those Intentions towards the end of this article, so keep reading…

Lots to consider with this New Moon:

There are two exalted planets at the time of the New Moon: Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Leo (we also discussed this in our webinar: “Mercury, Mars, Saturn & Neptune  — All Exalted!”

**Star Members already have access to this; for everyone else, click here

Mercury starts its 3-week Retrograde phase 5 days prior to the New Moon becoming exact (on Nov. 25th in the evening)

Mercury is all about communication, collecting & processing information, our inner dialog, and our decision-making process.

During the Retrograde phase, until Dec. 15th, we are invited to reevaluate and reorganize our thoughts and any information we have absorbed or received in the last three months.

Ask yourself: Did I make any significant decisions in the past three months? What are my perspectives on those decisions now? What needs to be reconsidered? What needs to shift?

==> We also talked about this in our most recent Soulivity Today Show from Nov. 8th (feel free to watch or re-watch that episode)

Here are some highlights in regards to aspects in this New Moon chart:

  • This New Moon makes a wide conjunction with a Retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius
  • The New Moon trines an exalted Mars & the North Node in Aries, creating a Grand Fire Trine
  • The New Moon squares Saturn in Pisces, and opposes its own ruler: Jupiter (currently in Gemini), creating a T-Square with Saturn as the Focal Point
  • Jupiter opposes Retrograde Mercury and sextiles Chiron in Aries (Jupiter & Mercury are still in a mutual reception)
  • Lastly, there are two more aspects in this New Moon chart: a Mars-Pluto opposition, and a Venus-Uranus Trine

More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s look at the wide Sun/Moon/Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius:

This combo urges us to re-examine our beliefs and their impact on our lives. It invites us to examine our direct experience, see what’s true now, and move forward only once we have…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 7-12 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 1:21am on Dec. 1st and 10:47am on Dec. 2nd; then again from 4:09pm (Dec. 2nd) until 1:21am on Dec. 3rd — New York Time/US Eastern Time

Note that there is a Moon void of course on Monday — it runs from 10:47am EST until 4:09pm EST. Don’t set your intentions during those 5.5 hours — instead, tune in and allow your intuition to connect to the powerful energies of this New Moon while you wait.

If you live outside the EST timezone (i.e. US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook Page, follow me on Twitter or Instagram. I will post reminders on Dec. 1st and 2nd to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Scorpio — the article

On Nov. 1st at 8:47am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 9.5 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle.

Before we get started, I just wanted to give everyone a head’s up:

I will have a Black Friday Pre-Sale that will start on Nov. 22nd and last until Nov. 28th at midnight EST!

All my readings will be 44% off during this time. If you are a Universal Member, this 44% discount will be applied to the already discounted price of 10% that you receive with your membership. For Star Members, the 44% discount will be applied to the 20% discount you already enjoy!

Mark your calendar, and check your emails for the discount code!

I’m also excited to announce another episode of the Soulivity Today Show! My segment is now titled “Hot Astrology with Sonja” — join Brian Westley Johnson and me for the live show on November 8th at 8 AM, when we’ll discuss November’s energies and how to prepare for the last Mercury Retrograde of the year!

Now, back to the New Moon:

The New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears. Feel free to also watch my video on the subject.

Eclipse season ended on October. 24th. Yay! Pluto & Jupiter are back to their normal speed. Yay!

Pluto has Stationed Direct on Oct. 11th already, so we feel more focused on accomplishing something real and empowering. We want to throw ourselves passionately at our long-term goals, creating wins wherever we can.

A couple of other things to note for this New Moon chart:

=> The New Moon in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces, asking us to be methodical and realistic when connecting with others intimately or when creating financial partnerships.

=> Pluto plays a crucial role: it is not only the modern ruler of Scorpio, but it is also still at the apex point of a Kite-configuration — which includes a Grand Water Trine, this time both of these configurations will be with Mercury (instead of Venus) in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces.

We saw a similar planetary combo in the last Super Full Moon chart on Oct. 17th. This invites us to be emotionally authentic, self-responsible, and aligned with what feels the most empowering to us — and bring all that to the world at large.

=> Mars (the traditional ruler of Scorpio) opposes Pluto, both at the last degree of their sign (29º Cancer-Capricorn)! An exalted degree!

This might bring some intensity to our interactions with others. We are invited here to take extra special care of ourselves and not let fear get the better of us!

=> Mercury, the messenger of the heavens, plays an important role in this New Moon chart as well, as it makes supportive aspects to both Pluto in Capricorn & Mars in Cancer, and Neptune in Pisces

=> Mercury also opposes Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

This could create some anxiousness or a feeling of uncertainty. Focusing on what we want to create, rather than focusing on what we can’t predict, is crucial!

=> Venus squares Saturn in Pisces, opposes Jupiter in Gemini, and trines Chiron in Arieș; since Chiron also makes a sextile to Jupiter, it becomes the Solution point for the Venus-Jupiter opposition.

As you can see, there is a lot going on this month, yet again. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Scorpio energies…

Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.

Scorpio is also the sign most associated with the dark: the taboo, the subconscious, the unknown.

Our Shadow holds not only our fears, unresolved trauma, and less desirable qualities, but anything that has been repressed, including our: power, intuition, and other gifts.

Ask yourself: How might surrender, trust in a higher power, and letting go of resentment & fear give me a better understanding of peace, authentic connection, and inner strength?

Scorpio is associated with…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 7-12 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 8:47am EDT on Nov. 1st and 9:47am EST on Nov. 3rd ==> Except for a 28-minute Moon void of course on Nov. 3rd from 12:51am until 1:19am EDT — all of the above-mentioned times are in the New York Time zone/US Eastern Time.

Solar Eclipse in Libra — the article

On Oct. 2nd at 2:49pm EDT, a Solar Eclipse becomes exact at 10 degrees of Libra  —  you may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.

Forty-eight hours before and after an Eclipse, we are experiencing heavy energetic downloads, so it’s best to wait to set Solar Eclipse Intentions until these intense downloads are complete.

Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that take place approximately every six months — this is the second Solar Eclipse in 2024 (in this particular Eclipse cycle that will be in effect until March 2025). The first Solar Eclipse of 2024 took place in Aries on April 8th.

Think back to early April and see what seeds got planted in your life concerning the last Solar Eclipse. Did you set Solar Eclipse Intentions on April 10th, 11th or 12th? Did something end or begin at that time? What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity?

This is an Annular Solar Eclipse; this occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while the Moon is at or near its farthest point from Earth. Because of the distance to the Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not entirely cover the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring of light around the Moon.

The Solar Eclipse will be visible from the Pacific Ocean (starting in Hawaii), parts of South America, the South Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. It will be most visible over the ocean.

No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally.

We also addressed Eclipse Season and the Solar Eclipse in Libra in more detail in our webinar: “Eclipses: Our Soul’s Journey Continues”. If you missed this fantastic online event ==> click here to get this fabulous 111 min. webinar

The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during such times.

This is the second South Node Solar Eclipse in Libra since the Moon Nodes moved into the Aries-Libra polarity in July 2023.

Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings. They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign while the South Node was traveling through Libra was on October 3rd, 2005.

We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Fall of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?

A couple of things to note for this Solar Eclipse chart:

1) The New Moon not only aligns with the South Node but also with Mercury in Libra; it also makes a Square to Mars in Cancer (who is also the Focal Point of a T-Square), and it makes a Semi-sextile to its ruler: Venus.

2) Venus in Scorpio is part of a Grand Water Trine with Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer.

3) Jupiter in Gemini & Pluto in Capricorn have a potent role in this Eclipse chart, as they are both exalted (due to their Station phases), and they both make exact Sextiles to other celestial bodies: Pluto to Neptune in Pisces, and Jupiter with Chiron in Aries.

Sextiles are 60º aspects that create an opportunity that requires action; we must take advantage of these opportune energy combos to reap the benefits.

These are the major themes of this Solar Eclipse chart, and we will address them in more detail. First, let’s talk a bit about Eclipses:

During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.

This particular Eclipse Season started on Sept. 2nd, with the New Moon in Virgo, and it will end after the Super Full Moon in Aries that follows this Solar Eclipse (in other words, by Oct. 24th, 2024).

While Eclipse Season is underway, allow for new templates to download, stay centered, and do your best to ground from within — try using conscious breathing and conscious mental flexibility — and best of all, see if you can move to the “observer position” when it comes to the emotional and mental body.

And remember, this won’t last forever: on Oct. 24th, the downloads are complete. It is important to remember that Eclipses open the door to the next level of our Soul’s evolution.

As best as you can, don’t jump the gun for the next four weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to simply observe the urge. The exception would be anything that happens organically, but if you are ambivalent about an action, it is better to hold off until Eclipse Season ends on Oct. 24th.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We will experience a release and recalibration because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded.

This Eclipse will connect this process to one-on-one relationships, ancestral patterns that no longer serve us, and whatever helps us take a balanced approach to life.

South Node Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to redefine or release over the next 5.5 months — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.

Since this Eclipse aligns with the South Node in Libra, it asks us to…

The more an Eclipse activates our birth chart, the more we feel impelled to go to the next level. Because Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º — so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 10 degrees of Libra:

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 5-15º of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 5.5-month Eclipse cycle, rather than just the next 28 days.

Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. We are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are quite intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions… We also definitely do not want to do this during a Moon void of course.

The best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse are between 2:45pm on Oct. 4th and 2:45pm on Oct. 6th — (in US Eastern Daylight Savings Time — i.e. the New York time zone).

Set powerful intentions — again, they cover the next 5.5 months — and if possible, align them with the Libra energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage, following me on Twitter or Instagram as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Virgo – the article

On Sept. 2nd at 9:56pm EDTthe Moon aligns with the Sun in 11 degrees of Virgo, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. We start to feel the effects of this New Moon the moment the Moon enters Virgo on Sunday night (Sept. 1st/2nd).

==> Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

With this New Moon, we also enter Eclipse season! This will last until Oct. 24th. We will have a Lunar Eclipse on Sept. 17th and a Solar Eclipse on Oct. 2nd.

Eclipses ask us to recalibrate on the physical, mental, and emotional levels, which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.

Eclipse Season happens twice a year and it is usually an unpredictable time. Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical during Eclipse season!

Self-care is particularly important in times of stress and/or change — basic things, like making sure that we eat healthily and regularly, drink plenty of water, exercise, get plentiful rest — and allow affection in from friends, family, or pets.

Anything brand-new (and I mean brand, brand-new) started during Eclipse season will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after the Full Moon that follows the last Eclipse.

If possible, defer any major brand-new projects until after October 24th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic, allow it to be.

If you would like to learn more about the upcoming Eclipses, and how they might be impacting you personally, please join us for our next Forecasting Forum on Sept. 18th at 1pm EDT.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL available until Sept. 16th at midnight EDT!

NEW! Universal Members get a 10% discount for all of my Forums at any time!

This New Moon features numerous aspects involving the outer planets: four aspects with Pluto in Capricorn, three with Neptune in Pisces, and three with exalted Uranus in Taurus.

This signifies an invitation to collectively shift consciousness. We are urged to work with these powerful energies for the benefit of ourselves and those we encounter.

All three of those planets are currently also in their Retrograde motion, inviting us to focus on making inner shifts and realigning ourselves with what no longer serves us.

Uranus is still stationing (exalted) until Sept. 13th; meanwhile, Neptune & Pluto are both in the last degree of their signs (29º), and thus exalted — their energies are “louder”.

Uranus is the loudest of the three, urging us to redefine our connection to the physical world and our self-worth; Neptune is asking us to trust our inner guidance and connection to Source-energy; finally, Pluto is asking us to reclaim our power, and live with purpose and a passion for life.

The Sun and the Moon in Virgo are part of a T-Square with Saturn and JupiterThese are “social planets”, linked to our social and economic contracts, agreements, and dynamics.

And then we come to Mercury, the messenger, ruler of Virgo, also currently exalted. He is quite involved in this New Moon chart as well.

I will talk more about this in connection with the planetary aspects of this New Moon chart, but first, let’s look at the Virgo energy of this New Moon:

Virgo provides an opportunity to learn about being of service — and what it might mean to strengthen our focus on improving our daily routines — getting organized, for example — and taking care of health matters.

The highest vibration of Virgo is observation, discernment, and analysis from a neutral standpoint to determine what works and what doesn’t.

Ask yourself: Could I release judgment from my life (starting with self-judgment)? Could I instead take a deep breath and discern what works and what doesn’t? What might this look like if I stayed completely neutral?

This New Moon cycle will be a great time to…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 9:56pm Monday late evening (Sept. 2nd) and 9:56pm on Wednesday late evening, Sept. 4th (New York-time). The only exception will be a brief 6 minute period from 12:06 – 12:12pm on Wednesday, Sept. 4th.

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (that’s the US East Coast time zone), feel free to join my Facebook Fan-page, follow me on “X” (the app formerly known as Twitter), or Instagram.  I will be posting reminders on Sept. 2nd, Sept. 3rd and 4th throughout the day to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Leo – the article

On August 4th at 7:13am EDTthe Moon aligns with the Sun in 12.5 degrees of Leo — in other words, the New Moon will be exact (I recommend you also watch my New Moon video on the subject).

This begins a New Moon cycle; it invites us to tune in and seed plants for the next 28 days — it’s an excellent time for all of us to set some Intentions for the next four weeks.

As always, I will let you know about this process towards the end of the article, and I’ll even give you the very best and most potent times for doing so, so stay tuned for that.

Before we start, let me share that I will be part of The Awaken Summit, which runs from Aug. 19th – 24th ==> Register here

Back to the New Moon! There are several planets of importance in this New Moon chart:

Chiron in Aries and Mercury in Virgo are both still exalted/stationing — we will feel their archetypical energies more strongly until Aug. 9th & 13th; Mercury will start its 3.5-week Retrograde phase less than 24 hours after the New Moon becomes exact.

We also have several planets in exalted degrees: Venus in Leo and Neptune in Pisces are both at 29º (the last degree of their signs), making a Quincunx-aspect to each other. Pluto will be at 0º of Aquarius, an exalted degree, and also in a Quincunx aspect to Venus.

Venus will also make a Square to Uranus in Taurus — so Venus, the archetype of love, self-worth, and relating, is sharply highlighted in this New Moon chart!

Regarding New Moon aspects, the New Moon in Leo sextiles Mars & Jupiter in Gemini, creating an opportunity for connection and sharing ourselves courageously and whole-heartedly.

More about all of that in a moment; first, let’s talk about the New Moon energies:

The New Moon in Leo highlights the power of our individual creativity; and makes our inner creative child and any physical children essential.

For the next 28 days, the New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted Leo has us looking for heartfelt experiences.

It’s important for us to express ourselves, learn about love, and in particular, learn how…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 10-15 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurusor Scorpio? Or do your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer? This New Moon may impact you more than others.

And last, but definitely not least: the New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; the best time for the intention-setting process is soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

This month’s best and most potent time would be between 7:13am on August 4th and 11:16am on Aug. 5th. Then again, from 5:17pm on Aug. 5th until 7:13am on Aug. 6th. As always, all times are in EDT — the New York timezone.

If you live outside the EDT timezone and converting timezones isn’t your thing, I suggest my Facebook page or following me on Twitter, or Instagram I will post reminders on all of those platforms on August 4th, 5th, and 6th to let you know the best time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Cancer — the article

On July 5th at 6:57pm EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in 14 degrees of Cancer; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac, as such, it relates to the development of the “emotional body” — so this Moon cycle amplifies feelings, instincts, and needs.

Before we get started, let me just share that I have another Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Astrology Friday” coming up:on Friday July 26th at 8am. Feel free to join us live or watch the replay on YouTube or via Soulivity.com

This New Moon might be a big turning point for some of us. Firstly, it squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra.

  • The Sun & Moon also makes a wide Conjunction to Venus in Cancer, and all three of them make a Trine to an exalted Saturn in Pisces that has been retrograde since June 29th.
  • Venus makes some additional aspects in this New Moon chart: a Square to Chiron in Aries, and a Sextile to Uranus & Mars in Taurus
  • Mars not only aligns with Uranus in Taurus but also sextiles Saturn in Pisces
  • Jupiter in Gemini makes a close Trine to the South Node in Libra and a Sextile to Mercury in Leo

And lastly, Mercury opposes Pluto in Aquarius — but before we unwrap the meaning of all of this, let’s first talk about the Cancer archetype:

Cancer represents the yin, receptive principle, which births, nurtures, and protects life. The Sun and Moon in Cancer remind us that we must also receive as well as give. Both constant giving and constant taking are unhealthy and unsustainable.

With this New Moon occurring in protective, introverted Cancer, we are invited to surround ourselves with quality and safety; we can expect anything connected to home, family, real estate, or childhood issues to be heightened in our awareness for the next four weeks.

This New Moon highlights the importance of…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 6:57pm and 11:47pm (on Saturday, July 6th) and then again, 9 minutes later, between 11:56pm (on Saturday night, July 6th) and 6:57pm (on Sunday, July 7th).

New Moon in Gemini — the article

On June 6th at 8:38am EDT/1:38pm London timethe Moon aligns with the Sun in 16 degrees of GeminiI recommend you also watch my New Moon video on the subject.

Before we get started, let me just share that I have two Podcast/Radio shows coming up this month:

1 – on Friday, June 7th, at 8am PDT in Seattle via KKNW 1150AM/ OR on Conscious Talk Radio with Brenda Michaels and Rob Spears, where we talk about Astrology and how it can support all of us in our lives ==> Great interview to share with friends or family members that are skeptics (or on the fence) about Astrology.

2 – on Friday, June 14th, 8am PT in California via KMET Radio/8am ET via Youtube or Soulivity.com, my next Soulivity Today Morning Show:Hot Astrology Friday” with Brian Westley Johnson, where we will talk about the upcoming Station phases in Pisces. So join us if you want to hear more about that….

Both Podcast/Radio shows are also available on Spotify and other major podcast apps.

One major thing to note in this New Moon chart is the planetary line-up in Gemini: Venus, the Sun & Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter!

With this much emphasis on Gemini, we are invited to pay attention to our minds, communications, and any information coming our way.

Gemini is the archetype of curiosity, communication in all its forms, and mental connections — it represents the development of language and intelligence, as well as our ability to adapt and relate to our immediate environment.

This is a “busy” energy focused on collecting information. It invites us to look at our mental programming and conditioned mind to see what needs to go — and what new thought structures we might want to engage with.

Venus’ close alignment to the New Moon invites us to learn to better listen to others, discover the value of authentic communication and exchange, and see both sides of a situation.

Ask yourself: If I am honest with myself, could I make 5% more of an effort to communicate in a way that benefits everyone involved? What if I chose to listen with a 5% more curious mind?

How could I improve my relationship to myself and others by keeping my mind 5% more open?

As the creative power of the feminine, Venus in Gemini represents the “bringing together of opposites” — people with different values or opinions, for example.

Ask yourself: When I picture this, what do I see? What might this look like in my various communities? How about within my relationships?

The New Moon & Venus in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces. With any Square, we are invited to…

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-18 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact, and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So, this month, any time between 8:38am on June 6th and 8:38am on June 8th. The only exception will be a 25-minute period on June 7th, during which the Moon will be void of course, from 8:16am until 8:41am. It is best to avoid setting your Intention during that time (and please note that I provide all times in the Eastern Daylight Timezone, i.e., New York City). For more info on setting New Moon Intentions click here

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), I recommend you join my Facebook Fan-page or follow me on Twitter, or Instagram as I post reminders on Thursday June 6th, Friday June 7th and Saturday June 8th to let you know when it is time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Taurus — the article

On May 7th, at 11:22pm EDT, the New Moon becomes exact in 18 degrees of Taurus. This marks the beginning of a new Moon cycle.  Click here to watch my video on the subject.

As best as you can, get really quiet and see if you are getting any new messages or ideas. If you are, harvest them, and fold them into any intentions you set for the new Moon cycle — I will talk about this process later in the forecast, and I’ll even give you the very best and most potent times for doing so…

Before we dive in, let me just mention my next Podcast/Radio Show: “Hot Astrology Friday” which will be live on May 17th at 8am ET via Youtube & 8am PT via KMET Radio. Save the date in your calendar!

We will talk about Jupiter’s upcoming journey through Gemini. So don’t miss this if you are at all curious how the next 13 months can make your life incrementally better!

And if you live in the Pittsburgh area or would like to come visit, check out my Retreat page, I will be doing a One-day Yoga/Astrology Retreat on Saturday, June 29th in the country — near the Pittsburgh airport.

Back to the New Moon:

  • This New Moon sextiles Saturn in Pisces (almost exact), then we have a line-up in Taurus, starting with Venus (in the sign she rules) followed by the Sun & Moon, then Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus — which brings a huge emphasis to the Taurean-energy.
  • Venus still makes a wide Square to an exalted Retrograde Pluto in Aquarius at the time of the New Moon (this started when she entered Taurus on April 29th).
  • Neptune, in a late degree of Pisces, and Mars, in an early degree of Aries, makes a wide Sextile to the exalted Pluto. Mars is also approaching a conjunction with the North Node in Aries (exact on May 19th).
  • We also have semi-Square between Saturn and Pluto that is worth mentioning, and Mercury is making its final pass over Chiron in Aries — the first of three passes was on March 20th, the second one during Mercury’s Retrograde phase on April 15th, and the third and last one is exact on May 6th, only 24 hours before the New Moon becomes exact!
  • Mercury is still in its post-Shadow phase until May 13th, asking us to review anything that has come up during the Mercury Retrograde phase (April 1st until the 25th).

So, as you can see, lots going on in this New Moon chart, collectively painting a complex picture with a focus on the balance of masculine and feminine energies.

Before we go into all of these aspects in more detail, however, let’s first talk about the sign of Taurus.

With 5 planets in Taurus, we are feeling a strong need to focus on this earthy sign for the next 28 days:

Steady, peaceful Taurus places more focus on our interactions with the physical world — you could say that we seek a healthier relationship with “matter”, one in which we are neither too attached nor too disconnected from things on the physical plane — for example, our bodies, resources (such as money), and the planet we co-inhabit.

We are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the only planet we can currently live on — The Earth — and honor its resources and beauty.

How can we change our mindset about those earthly matters? What would the combination of a deep knowing and a deep-rooted sense of being at home in our body and the world feel like?

In much the same spirit, we are invited also to honor ourselves, our bodies, and our talents. This is a good time for reevaluating our relationship with money and possessions, and for discovering what truly makes us happy and fulfilled, so check in with yourself: What came to mind when you read or heard this? (maybe journal on this)

Let’s talk about some of the aspects in this New Moon chart, starting with the most exact one:

The New Moon in Taurus sextiles Saturn in Pisces:

Taurus ultimately seeks to honor spirit in form, recognizing the physical world as an expression of the divine and the body as a sacred vehicle.

Pisces understands the paradox between physical and spiritual — between matter and energy.

As such, this aspect presents an opportunity to join our need for material comfort and enjoyment of life to a practice that supports a more intuitive approach. This is an opportunity to…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 16-20 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

This month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 11:22pm on May 7th, and 11:22pm on May 9th. The only exception will be a 1.5-hour period on May 8th — there will be a brief Moon VoC between 5:55pm and 7:20pm — all of the above times are given in US East Coast time.

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US-Eastern Daylight Savings Time), join my Facebook Page or follow me on Twitter/X. I will be posting reminders on May 7th, 8th, and 9th — to let you know that it’s the best time to set your intentions

Again, the New Moon conjuncts Uranus & Jupiter in Taurus. This brings more awareness and emphasis to the Jupiter-Uranus alignment that began earlier this year, was exact on April 20th, and is still strong until May 19th and in the same sign until May 25th!

==> Feel free to also watch/get my 95-min. webinar on the subject, here.

We covered all the Houses in our birth charts, and the Jupiter-Uranus cycles over the past 14 years and the next 14 years to come! Great webinar; definitely watch it if you haven’t seen it yet!

Solar Eclipse in Aries — the article

On April 8th at 2:21pm EDT,  a powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse becomes exact in 19.5º of Aries. This launches a new Moon and Eclipse cycle.

As we remain in Eclipse Season until April 18th, the coming weeks could offer some tailwinds that carry us to significant breakthroughs; we are invited to learn how to be conscious creators, mindful of how our thinking and choices affect our personal and collective experiences.

As best you can, trust that whatever is leaving is making space for something better — the more willing we are to change, the easier it will be.

Stay grounded and flexible — and don’t jump the gun for the next 2-3 weeks — if you feel compelled to do something, do your best to observe the urge — unless it is connected to something that happens organically — if you are ambivalent about taking an action, better hold off until Eclipse Season ends on April 18th.

Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that occur approximately every six months. This Eclipse cycle will be in effect until March 2025; this is the first Solar Eclipse of this year and the second in Aries in this Eclipse cycle. You may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.

The first Solar Eclipse in Aries (connected to the current Eclipse cycle) occurred on April 20th, 2023. What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity since then? Where are you asked to get out of your comfort zone? Has this been a humbling experience so far?

During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon momentarily interrupts the normal flow of Solar Radiation, reorganizing our consciousness to a higher level. Solar Eclipses indicate the beginning of a new experience, project, or cycle.

This Eclipse is a Total Solar Eclipse and a SuperMoon!

This will be the third of three Super New Moons in a row, and as some of you already know, SuperMoons occur when the Moon is at its closest distance to the Earth (at the time of a New Moon or Full Moon) and are more powerful. This means greater awareness of the issues connected to the particular New Moon energy.

Total Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. The Moon will completely cover the Sun.

This Total Eclipse will be visible in North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. It will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. The first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast.

The path of the Eclipse continues from Mexico, entering the United States in Texas, and traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the Total Solar Eclipse.

The Eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. It will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally. Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings.

They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign — while the North Node was traveling through Aries — was on April 8th, 2005.

We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Spring of 2005 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?

For more guidance on those questions, it is best to take a look at our Natal Charts — the House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which area of life is the readiest to embrace a healthy sense of Self and rise to a new level of consciousness around independence and forging our path, gently and holistically.

Feel free to watch my webinar “Eclipse Season & the Mercury Retrograde” to see how the Eclipses impact your birth chart. You can get this 95-minute webinar here.

Star Members of my online community: check your inbox or junk folder for the email you received on March 22nd.

Eclipses are a time for clarifying and affirming our highest path. We are bound to experience a release and recalibration of some sort because old programs will get deleted and new ones downloaded– and for this Eclipse, this is especially true in connection with our relationship to our human identity and our sense of agency in the world — in other words, how capable we feel to get things done.

This begins with our role in our interactions with others, whether we can be direct about our personal goals and passions and inspire others to follow our example.

Solar Eclipses are an excellent time to go within, to seed anything we would like to integrate and understand better about ourselves over the next six months until the next Solar Eclipse (Oct. 2nd, 2024) — we’ll dig into this in more detail towards the end of this video/article when we talk about setting Solar Eclipse Intentions.

Setting Intentions for Solar Eclipses differs from a regular New Moon! So stay tuned!

The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during those times.

North Node Eclipses help us move towards…

Since Eclipses are so powerful, they require a bigger orb than a regular Full or New Moon. I usually use a 5º orb instead of 2º… so since this Solar Eclipse takes place in 19º24 of Aries:

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-25 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly; this is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo, the Moon rules Cancer)

Setting Intentions for a Solar Eclipse is a little different from the regular monthly New Moon process — after all, we are setting them for the whole 6-month Eclipse cycle rather than just the next 28 days.

Solar Eclipse Intentions are best done 48 hours after the Eclipse becomes exact. This is because we are downloading new templates at the time of an Eclipse, and the energies are pretty intense, so we want to wait until it all settles down a little before setting our intentions — that said, it’s best to avoid setting them during a Moon void of course.

Given all this, here are the best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse: Between 2:21pm on Wednesday, April 10th, and 6:04am on Thursday, April 11th. Then again, from 8:59am on April 11th until 2:21pm on Friday, April 12th. Note that all times above are given in US Eastern Time — i.e., the New York time zone.pastedGraphic.png

Set powerful intentions — remember, they cover the next six months — and if possible, align them with the Aries energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EDT and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page and following me on X (Twitter), as I post reminders on those platforms when it’s time to set your intentions.

Super New Moon in Pisces — the article

On March 10th, at 5am EDT/9am London-time, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 20 degrees of Pisces, marking the beginning of a new Moon cycle. Feel free also to watch my New Moon video on the subject

This is the last Lunation before we enter Eclipse Season — which starts on March 15th and lasts until April 18th.

Eclipse Season is usually an unpredictable time, as we are recalibrating on a physical, mental and emotional level which gives us a chance to move to the next level of our evolution – on a personal and collective level.

We will also talk about Eclipse Season in my next Soulivity Today Morning Show: Hot Astrology Friday on March 15th at 8am EDT. If you live in California, listen via KMET Radio at 8am PDT.

Now, back to the New Moon:

New Moons mark the ending and beginning of a monthly cycle and are an optimal time to pause, reflect, and set new Intentions for the next 28 days.

This New Moon is another SuperMoon (the second of three Super New Moons in a row). These occur when the Moon is closest to the Earth (at the time of a New or Full Moon) and are more powerful. This means greater awareness of the issues connected to the particular New Moon energy.

Since this one occurs in Pisces, this Super New Moon invites us to connect with our inner divinity and ability to receive, trust our intuition, and contribute to life from a heart-centered and empathic place.

This Super New Moon chart has four planets in Pisces, including the Sun, Moon, Saturn, and Neptune. Neptune (the ruler of Pisces) is within 7 degrees of the New Moon, still close enough to make an impact and invite us to open our hearts and dissolve anything that keeps us separate from that heart connection.

The New Moon sextiles Uranus in Taurus, making this an opportune time to tune into the unique value we each have.

Mars in Aquarius is most aspected in this Super New Moon chart. It semi-sextiles the New Moon in Pisces, sextiles Chiron in Aries, and squares Uranus in Taurus.

This will bring an opportunity for more profound healing, individually and collectively speaking. But we are also invited to stretch ourselves and grow beyond what we have known ourselves to be. I will go into all of this in more detail in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Pisces-energy:

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and thus connects us to our spiritual journey, as it represents a reunion with Source/God/the Universe. At its highest vibrationPisces…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 18-22 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly for the next 28 days. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Before I talk about New Moon Intentions, let me mention my next FORECASTING FORUM…

If you are already a Star Member OR already registered for the upcoming Forum, you can email me with a question about the upcoming Eclipses OR the Mercury Retrograde until March 22nd at 11am EDT! Questions are answered in the order that they have been received.

The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon Void of Course phase.

So this month, the two best and most potent times to set intentions would be between 5am and 3:45pm on March 10th and from 8:19pm on March 10th until 5am on March 12th — New York time.

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook page or follow me on Twitter as I post reminders on March 10th, 11th, and 12th to let you know when to set your intentions.

Super New Moon in Aquarius — the article

On Feb. 9th at 5:59pm EST, a powerful New Moon in 20.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact; this is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. I also recommend you watch my video on the subject.

Please note: there are some Membership changes that went into effect on Jan. 24th with some new Membership features and some minor price changes. You can watch a brief video about those changes here.

This New Moon is also a SuperMoon — the first of three Super New Moons in a row, when the Moon is nearest to the Earth, increasing its gravitational effects on ocean tides, tectonic plates, and our emotional body. If we allow it, Super Moons can lead to significant shifts in consciousness.

Since this one occurs in Aquarius, this Super New Moon invites us to go out there and connect with “our people”– with a tribe that resonates, a cause that feels aligned with our values and our need for stability and comfort. This connection serves a larger vision for our financial future and the future of our planet, etc.

This New Moon takes place only 6 hours before the Chinese New Year begins, marking the beginning of the Year of the Yang Wood Dragon. This symbolizes vigor, charm, and strength. It also represents royalty (the Emperor), wisdom, and prosperity. Therefore, a Dragon Year brings good fortune, power, passion, and new opportunities.

The Wood year is a time for quick growth and development. There can be sudden breakthroughs and fast changes. The Wood and Dragon energy combination could be overwhelming for some of us.

Anticipate a year that is exciting, creative, and transformational. Risk-taking and forceful pursuit of our goals will yield great results. Life’s pace is fast and dynamic; anything can happen in a Dragon year. Be prepared for an unpredictable and possibly volatile year. The motto for this year could be: “Never a dull moment.”

Ask yourself: Where am I ready to take a risk? Where do I feel the calling to pursue a goal passionately? Where do I need to step outside my comfort zone for a new adventure?

Coming back to Western Astrology, until April 1st, all planets will be in forward motion. This indicates an accelerated time of manifestation — especially connected to new projects or ideas.

It will be extra important to stay focused and grounded and regularly check that we’re moving in the “right” direction.

Ask yourself: What in my life is asking for accelerated progress? What do I wish to manifest with the support of the Universe?

Here is what we will cover in connection with this Super New Moon:

* Uranus (the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, and innovation), modern ruler of Aquarius, is currently in Taurus and still exalted in this Super New Moon chart. It will also make a powerful Square to the New Moon and a Trine to Venus in Capricorn.

* Saturn (the planet associated with building sustainable structures), the traditional ruler of Aquarius, is currently in Pisces and is still in a Sextile to Jupiter in Taurus (due to Jupiter’s Station and Retrograde phases, this has been going on since Dec. 7th of last year)

Venus is part of a planetary Line-up (Stellium) that includes Mars in CapricornPluto in Aquarius, and Mercury in Aquarius.

This will also be Pluto’s first New Moon since changing signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Jan. 20th — and the New Moon will also be in the same sign as Pluto.

With all this, we are being asked to be extra-mindful about connecting to our physical reality (our body, our finances, and the planet) in an innovative and unique manner.

We are also being asked to bring integrity and maturity to our connections with others, to our collaboration, and to be extra conscious about how we interact with others: choosing Love over fear, whenever we can. More about all of this and more below…

Let’s first talk a little bit about Aquarius and what this energy represents before jumping into the aspects of this Super New Moon chart:

The highest vibration of Aquarius is to experience unity in diversity — to know ourselves as both an individual and an integral member of the human race. It’s a place where we…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Finally, let’s talk “New Moon Intentions… The New Moon is the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle; this is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact and not during a Moon void of Course phase.

There will be a Moon VoC starting with the New Moon on Feb. 9th, which means we are best off waiting until the next day to set our intentions.

That means that this month, the best time and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between 8:42am on Feb. 10th and 5:59pm on Feb. 11th – (New York Time/US Eastern Time)

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast) and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook page, following me on Twitter or Instagram. I will post reminders to let you know when to set your New Moon intentions.

**We will also have another Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Astrology Topics” coming up, on Feb. 16th at 8am EST. Watch our show live via Youtube (or later as a recording), or if you live in California, you can listen in via KMET Radio (98.1FM) at 8am PST.

==> I will be interviewed the lovely Brian Westley Johnson, and I will give a preview about what to expect for February with Venus making a powerful connection to Pluto in Aquarius on the 17th and Chiron to the North Node in Aries on the 19th!

New Moon in Capricorn — the article

On January 11th at 6:57am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 21 degrees of Capricorn, launching a new Moon cycle.

New Moons are good times to reflect on our lives and set new intentions. This is an excellent time to go within and plant a seed for anything we would like to accomplish over the next 28 days and beyond. Feel free to also watch my New Moon video on the subject, here.

There are two quick things I would like to mention before we get started:

1) My latest Podcast/Radio Show for “Soulivity Today” focused on “hot dates” in 2024; if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend that you watch it on YouTube at Soulivity Today or click here to watch it on my website

2) Also! On Jan. 24th at 1pm EST, we have our first Forecasting Forum of the year!

We will talk about Uranus, the planet of breakthroughs, innovation & change, as well as Pluto (the planet of deep transformation & power) moving back into Aquarius (the sign most associated with communities, technology & future visions) — for the second time since last March, and this time it will remain in Aquarius until September 1st.

The third pass will be from Nov. 19th, 2024, until Jan. 2044. This is a 246-year cycle, which means the last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1778 – 1798. This was when the United States achieved its independence from Great Britain — through its desire to create a place “of the people for the people”, a place where freedom and equality were honored and aspired to.

So, join us for this powerful 90-minute webinar ==> Early Bird Special is only $32 until Jan. 22nd! After that time, it will be $37.00

Everyone who is registered also gets access to the mp4 video recording of the live event. As always, Star Members are automatically registered.

If you want to stay on the pulse of all the planetary shifts for this coming year and see how an understanding of these energies can serve you personally, become a Star Member of my online community and join us every month.

Now, let’s talk about the first New Moon in 2024:

If you did make any New Year’s resolutions, this New Moon cycle will be a great time to implement and make good on those resolutions or intentions.

If you didn’t set any New Year’s resolutions, I can’t blame you, since Mercury was Retrograde at midnight on Dec. 31st/Jan. 1st., and was also squaring Neptune in Pisces — so it may have felt too overwhelming to set any concrete intentions for 2024, or it wasn’t even on your radar…

But do not worry; January 11th is your next chance to set some great goals or intentions, and this time, you will feel much more grounded, realistic, and excited about doing so.

Since this New Moon occurs in Capricorn, it directs us to investigate our relationship with authority, not just “authority” in the external sense, but also our “own authority”.

The highest vibration of Capricorn is self-mastery: the development of responsibility, resourcefulness, reliability, setting realistic goals, and healthy boundaries. So, the next 28 days are perfect for working on these areas.

Since Capricorn represents the quest for…

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 18-23 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for the month’s Moon cycle — the perfect time is after the New Moon becomes exact (but not during a Moon void of course).

So this month, there are two best and most potent times to set intentions — the first would be any time between 6:57am and 9:33pm on Jan. 11th — and the second would be between 10:01pm on Jan. 11th and 4:59am on Jan. 13th. (EST/New York time).

If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Page and following me on Twitter, as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Sagittarius — the article

On Dec. 12th, at 6:32pm EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 20.5 degrees of Sagittarius, beginning a new Moon cycle.

New Moons are a great time to catch our breath; to hit the pause button on our life, and to set some intentions for the new Lunar cycle.

With the New Moon in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, we are asked to go beyond our day-to-day knowledge and look for a larger perspective. Also, feel free to watch my New Moon video on the subject

Before we dive in, I just wanted to mention briefly 2 things that may be of interest to you:

Firstly, I am excited to say that we have another Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Astrology Topics” coming up on Dec. 15th. I will be interviewed by the lovely Brian Westley Johnson, and I will give a preview about what to expect for 2024!

==> You can watch this live via YouTube at 8am EST (or later as a recording) — or if you live in California, you can listen in via KMET Radio (98.1FM/1490AM) at 8am PST

Secondly, I have a NEW service offering! I added a 30-min. Pet Reading to my list of Readings. This was inspired by one of my clients who asked me for a Reading for her dog, and it was so helpful to her that I thought I would offer it officially as a Reading to all my clients! ==> Feel free to take a look here

Back to the New Moon:

Lots to consider with this New Moon chart:

  • This New Moon aligns with Mars in Sagittarius
  • There are three exalted planets in this New Moon chart: Neptune in Pisces, Chiron in Aries & Mercury in Capricorn
  • Mercury starts its 3-week Retrograde phase only 7.5 hours after the New Moon becomes exact
  • The New Moon makes several aspects: it trines an exalted Chiron & the North Node in Aries, it squares an exalted Neptune, and it quincunxes Uranus in Taurus
  • Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius), currently in Taurus, opposes Venus in Scorpio and trines a highly exalted Mercury in Capricorn

More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s look at the Sun/Moon/Mars alignment in Sagittarius:

This combo urges us to examine our beliefs and their impact on our lives. It invites us to look at our direct experience, to see what’s true now, and move forward with excitement.

Ask yourself: Could I be 5% more mindful of the filters through which I interpret life? Could I be present in the here and now and witness things as they are? What is my direct experience when I ignore my social/cultural conditioning?

A direct and courageous approach works best here. We feel more adventurous and probably more impatient. We also like to debate others, persuading them to share our beliefs or perspectives.

Ask yourself: Where do I insist on “being right”? How do I usually feel afterward? Does my truth need to be the only truth there is?

Remember that we are the editors of our own experience. We interpret our reality through many filters, determined by our childhood conditioning, education, religion, culture, gender, and nationality.

Ask yourself: What beliefs, perspectives, or attitudes are worth fighting for? Which ones aren’t? Where could I bring a dose of humor or curiosity to the table?

We prefer to feel free-flowing and excited about new things — especially when we can learn or experience something new. Ask yourself: Where am I invited to take a leap of faith?

There are three exalted planets in this New Moon chart: Neptune in Pisces, Chiron in Aries & Mercury in Capricorn.

We covered all three of those stations in our most recent Forecasting Forum in relation to our birth charts. Please feel free to watch this webinar if it interests you.

Mercury comes to a halt and starts its 3-week Retrograde phase only 7.5 hours after the New Moon becomes exact. This makes Mercury highly exalted at the time of this New Moon.

Mercury is all about communication, collecting & processing information, our inner dialog, and our decision-making process.

Ask yourself: What is in my face concerning my long-term plans or business dealings? My economic status? Aspirations? What feels out of integrity in my life?

During the Retrograde phase, until January 1st 2024, we are invited to…

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.

So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be any time between  6:32pm on Dec. 12th and 1:48am on Dec. 13th; then again from 10:38am (Dec. 13th) until 6:32pm on Dec 14th — New York Time/US Eastern Time

Note that there is a Moon void of course on Dec. 13th — it runs from 1:48am EST until 10:31am EST. Don’t set your intentions during those 8.5 hours — instead, allow intuition to surface possible intentions while you wait.

If you live outside the EST timezone (i.e. US East Coast time), I recommend you join my Facebook Page or follow me on Twitter. I will post reminders on Dec. 12th, 13th, and 14th to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

New Moon in Scorpio — the article

On Nov. 13th at 4:27am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 21 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle.

Before we get started, I have a quick announcements:

I am excited to say that I will be a regular guest on the Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Topics Friday” starting on Nov. 17th.

==> Join me once a month as I discuss hot astrology topics with the lovely Brian Westley Johnson.

Now, back to the New Moon:

With the New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, it brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears; if you’d like to learn more about this Lunation, check out my video on the subject

Eclipse season is over; Saturn has Stationed Direct on Nov. 4th, so we are feeling a bit more grounded and ready to move things forward in a bigger way.

A couple of things to note in this New Moon chart:

Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, aligns with the New Moon, and all three of those planetary bodies make a Trine to Neptune in Pisces, as well as an exact Opposition to Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.

Pluto, the modern ruler of Scorpio, is still in serious, cautious, and goal-oriented Capricorn until January 20th, 2024, and still squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra until December 8th/9th. Pluto also still trines Uranus in Taurus and still sextiles Neptune in Pisces.

Mercury, the messenger of the heavens, sextiles Venus in Libra and squares an exalted Saturn in Pisces at the time of the New Moon. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Scorpio energies…

Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche, but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships. Scorpio is also the sign most associated with…

Solar Eclipse in Libra — the article

On Oct. 14th at 1:55pm EDT, a Solar Eclipse becomes exact at 21 degrees of Libra  —  you may also want to watch my Solar Eclipse video.

48 hours before and after an Eclipse, we are experiencing heavy energetic downloads, so it’s best to wait to set Solar Eclipse Intentions until after these intense downloads are over.

Solar Eclipses are extra-powerful New Moons that take place approximately every six months — this is the second Solar Eclipse in 2023 (in this particular Eclipse cycle that will be in effect until March 2025). The first Solar Eclipse of 2023 took place in Aries on April 20th.

Think back to late April and see what seeds got planted in your life in connection with the last Solar Eclipse. Did you set Solar Eclipse Intentions on April 22nd or 23rd? Did something end or begin at that time? What have you discovered about your physical vitality and self-identity?

This Eclipse is an Annular Solar Eclipse; these occur when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth while the Moon is at or near its farthest point from Earth. Because of the distance to the Earth, it appears smaller than the Sun and does not entirely cover the Sun. As a result, the Moon appears as a dark disk on top of a larger, bright disk, creating what looks like a ring of light around the Moon.

This Eclipse will be most visible in parts of the United States (mainly Oregon, Northern California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas), Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America.

Everyone in the U.S. will see a partial Solar Eclipse, with those farther West seeing a much more significant chunk taken out of the Sun.

No matter where you are on the planet, however, the effects of the Eclipse will be transformative globally.

We also addressed Eclipse Season and the Solar Eclipse in Libra in more detail in our webinar: “Eclipse Season & Pluto Station”.  If you missed this fantastic online event ==> click here to get this fabulous 1hour 45 min. webinar

The Sun and Moon are connected to one of the Moon Nodes during an Eclipse, alternating between North and South Node Eclipses, emphasizing the evolutionary upgrades available to us during such times.

This is the first South Node Solar Eclipse in Libra since the Moon Nodes moved into the Aries-Libra polarity on July 17th, 2023.

Solar Eclipses, in particular, often correspond to significant endings and beginnings. They occur close to the same degree every 19 years, and the last time we had a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in this particular degree and sign while the South Node was traveling through Libra was on October 14th, 2004.

We will likely experience a resonance between now and that time — “resonance”, not repetition — so think back to the Fall of 2004 and ask yourself: Were there any significant endings and beginnings? What was important to me back then? If I were to take those priorities to the next level, where would that next level find me?

A couple of things to note for this Solar Eclipse chart: the New Moon not only aligns with the South Node but also with Mercury in Libra; it also makes a Quincunx to Uranus in Taurus and an opposition to Chiron & the North Node in Aries.

Pluto in Capricorn has a potent role in this Eclipse chart, as it is exalted (due to its Station phase), and it squares the Moon Nodes and, therefore also the New Moon/Solar Eclipse.

Squares are 90º aspects that mark a turning point that we must take to make progress; they ask us to stretch and grow beyond who we used to be.

These are the major themes of this Solar Eclipse chart, and we will address them in more detail. First, let’s talk a bit more about

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 16-26º of Libra, Aries, Cancer, or Capricorn?

The best and most potent times to set your Intentions for this Solar Eclipse are between 1:55pm (on Oct. 16th) and 11:44am (on Oct. 17th) and then again from 3:36pm (Oct. 17th) until 1:55pm (on Oct. 18th) — (in US Eastern Daylight Savings Time — i.e. the New York time zone).

Set powerful intentions — again, they cover the next 5.5 months — and if possible, align them with the Libra energy!

If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast time), and converting time zones isn’t your thing, I suggest joining my Facebook Fanpage and/or following me on Twitter, as I post reminders when it’s time to set your intentions.
