On Feb. 5th at 1:29pm EST, the Moon opposes the Sun in 16.5 degrees of Leo — and this is when this month’s Full Moon becomes exact. We start to feel this Full Moon build from the moment the Moon enters Leo on Saturday early morning (Feb. 4th). Relationships of all kinds are highlighted.
All Full Moons offer opportunities for us to see things in a new light; they also guide us away from polarization and division toward balance and integration. Ask yourself: How far have I come since setting Intentions back on Jan. 21st or 22nd, after the New Moon became exact? What am I aware of at this time?
The balance and integration we seek with this month’s Full Moon is connected to the Aquarius-Leo polarity. If you are already a Member of my online community, and you’d like to learn more about this month’s Full Moon, click here to watch my video.
This current Full Moon makes a Square to Uranus in Taurus, creating a T-Square with Uranus as the Focal Point; and it also squares the Lunar Eclipse degree from Nov. 8th, 2022 in Taurus-Scorpio.
In this Full Moon chart, we also have an opportune planetary connection to Mars in Gemini (the planet of assertion and action), which encourages us to express and share our heart and passions.
As well as a harmonious connection to Chiron, the Wounded Healer. I will go into all those in detail in a moment… let’s first talk about the Leo-Aquarius polarity:
Aquarius, along with its co-rulers Saturn and Uranus, deals with the idea of being a responsible and unique human, both on an individual level and as a member of the “human family”.
Aquarius represents a unique vision and approach to life. The classic Aquarian vision is one of interconnected equality and belonging — paradoxically, we are reminded at the same time that the power of unity lies in diversity. Contradictions are not unfamiliar to the Aquarian mind.
Leo, on the other hand, is all about our self-expression, creativity, and ability to connect to a courageous, innocent heart and inner joy.
This Full Moon is our chance to make a more conscious effort to embrace, integrate, and explore Leo’s lighter/higher vibrations (as mentioned above). Leo is an optimistic and extroverted sign that represents our capacity to love — and our willpower. It signifies the quest to live from our center, our authentic core, our truth — with joy in our hearts.
This Full Moon reminds us that everyone is unique in their own way and needs to honor themselves as that first before we can make a difference in the world, small or large — and when we join together from that authentic place, we can empower each other, and our strengths grow exponentially.
Ask yourself: How could I best honor both my individual self-expression and my interconnectedness with the world? What does true belonging look like to me? Do I already belong to myself? Am I capable of standing in my true self-expression when connecting with others?
How am I adding my authentic voice (in small ways and large)? What is asking for a deeper connection within me? Do I have the courage to stand alone if needs be? Do I have the courage to be me, even when it feels uncomfortable?
“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.“ — Brené Brown
As with all Full Moons, there’s a shadow side to be discussed — the shadow of both signs involved in this Full Moon — and please note that the shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or easy to embrace.
Aquarius’s Shadow side might show up as…

Aquarius’s Shadow side might show up as cold, detached, or overly intellectualized points of view — and there could be some arrogance in the mix. Ask yourself: If I were too much in my head, what would tip me off to that? Where do I get dogmatic about concepts or visions? Where do I conform, or at least want to fit in? How might my experience of life change if I gave up conforming out of fear of ridicule or rejection?
Where do I hide behind social groups to feel superior to others? Has belonging to a “tribe” become more important than my personal self-expression? How have I avoided following my heart, so I can fit in?
And if by chance you have never belonged to a “tribe”, then ask yourself: What if I gave up identifying as a “black sheep”, rebel, or being so different that I can never belong?
In order to develop a healthy relationship to the individual part we play in the collective, we need to keep an open mind, allow everyone (ourselves included) to be their unique selves, and then bring that unique spark to the collective experience.
Aquarius connects us to the complex patterns formed when many come together; it represents the power of collaboration, where the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
Ask yourself: How might I personally contribute to a better future for humanity? If I had a unique spark that could bring greater joy and diversity to the collective experience, what might that spark be? What is humanity without me? Who am I without humanity?
So much for the Aquarian shadow — let’s look at Leo’s shadow side:
This might show up as self-centeredness, with some narcissistic traits — picture a child that can’t see beyond itself, that is not aware of other people in the room, cannot see past the moment to the consequences down the line.
Ask yourself: If I’m honest, have I ever created drama when I couldn’t have what I desired? Where in my life do I take things too personally? Where do I tend to be self-indulgent? What role does my pride play?
In order to develop a healthy connection to our inner child, we must learn to keep an open heart and let ourselves be playful and creative; we must also learn to express our needs and desires, so we can have open, authentic conversations with other people. Leo represents our individual expression, individual creativity, the kind of light we came to shine, the type of joy we came to spread.
Ask yourself: What might open up if I expressed myself with my heart as my center? What if I expressed myself with 5% more courage? What might my world look like if I allowed my light to shine just 5% brighter?
As with all Full Moons, we are also invited to balance and integrate the two polarities involved — in this case, we are invited to allow head/intellect (Aquarius) and heart-expression (Leo) to merge, bringing about a brighter future for humankind — so ask yourself:
What would it look like if I allowed that merger? What if I chose, right here and now, to contribute to humanity from a courageous, heart-centered, and authentic place? What if I simply chose that right now?
Now let’s take a look at some of the aspects of this Full Moon chart:
Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius, is currently in Taurus and the Focal Point of a T-square involving the Full Moon polarity. Since Uranus is connected to two Squares, we are experiencing some tension when it comes to our higher mind and honoring our unique Selves over the next two weeks; but it is also an invitation to get in touch with our physical/material connections and enjoyment of life from a much higher frequency.
We may feel stretched or stressed by a situation or interaction involving a community/network/future-related issue or a self-expression/heart-centered/courage-related issue. It’s a time when it’s especially good to be aware of our differences and unique approaches to life. As best as you can, stay flexible and open to the new and unexpectedly different.
Ask yourself: What does a unique approach look like? How could I shake things up a bit? What role does “thinking outside the box” play in all of this? What if I became 5% more aware of anything connected to my body, my talents, and my ability to honor myself?
What might be possible if I practiced connecting to a “higher frequency” with anything physical in my life? Might conscious breathing support me with that practice? Does my body have any messages for me?
The solution with all T-squares is to focus on the empty leg — in this case Scorpio — here we are invited to bring our unique approaches and innovative spirit to our intimate relationships or financial partnerships.
Ask yourself: What might be possible if I embraced all of me — my light and my darkness? What is possible when I connect to people who appreciate my individualistic approaches? What would it take to have spaciousness within my emotionally authentic and trusted connections? What would it look like if I shook things up in my intimate or financial partnerships? What would my innovative spirit recommend?
Accepting each other’s differences is important right now, as we all have different values — and those values create our preferences and determine our comfort zone.
Ask yourself: Could I “hold the space” for other people’s fears and comfort levels just 5% more than I currently do? How could I take differences in values less personally? Is it at least possible that I could honor my own differences without making others wrong for theirs?
The Full Moon also squares the Lunar Eclipse degree from Nov. 8th, 2022, making this Full Moon a powerful turning point on our journey towards greater stability — collectively and individually speaking.
Squares ask for a shift in perception and direction; they challenge us to go beyond what is divisive and destructive and instead move towards what creates growth. As I mentioned earlier, they mark turning points — and this one is a turning point in our ability to balance our self-expression with our collective desires and goals.
What is your turning point? What needs to shift for you?
If you are familiar with your natal chart, take a look at the Houses involved (connected to the Square between this month’s Full Moon and the Lunar Eclipse from last year November) to see how this might play out for you.

The Moon in Leo makes several aspects in this Full Moon chart. It trines Chiron in Aries, sextiles Mars in Gemini, and opposes Saturn in Aquarius. So let’s unwrap all of that:
The Moon’s Trine to Chiron in Aries creates a supportive environment for healing our insecurities. We can bring greater awareness to our feelings of shame around our wounded masculine energies (for example, not doing enough or too much, not courageous enough, not producing enough, being over-assertive or too aggressive) and any self-deprecating thoughts or behaviors.
Something else that supports healing our insecurities is our self-acceptance around being human and presenting our authentic, imperfect Selves to the world without apologies.
Ask yourself: How open can I be to being courageously myself, with all my sensitivities and insecurities? Could I accept my own human complexities 5% more when expressing myself creatively or otherwise? How complex could I allow myself to be? How about everyone else out there in the world? Could I give them permission to be just as complex?
The Moon’s Sextile to Mars in Gemini creates an opportunity for communicating and sharing our heart’s desires and passions. Opportunities are openings; they aren’t necessarily handed to us — we have to “take” them and make something of them. Ask yourself: What will I do with this opportunity? Am I Ready? Willing? Able?
Since Mars also sextiles Chiron, taking the initiative to connect and talk about our sensitivities and perceived imperfections will proof to be helpful on our journey toward greater, more authentic self-expression. And that in turn will bring a level of authenticity and humility to our collaborations out there in the world. This is how we can create a better future for all, one person at a time. One courageous heart at a time.
Ask yourself: Am I ready to connect to others from my courageous heart? Am I brave enough to own my sensitivities and perceived imperfections? How might my authentic and humble sharing impact others? How might it impact my future? How might it impact other people’s future?
The Moon’s Opposition to Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius (and therefore co-ruler with Uranus), invites us to balance our heart-felt needs for joy and authenticity against our focus on long-term visions for the future, as well as contributions and commitments to that vision or to like-minded people who share this vision with us.
Saturn is asking us to slow down and get clear about where we want to focus our attention. Ask yourself: What kind of future do I want to create? How do my commitments and my mental focus contribute to creating and manifesting this future? Where do I need more distance and space with others? Where do I need to take responsibility for my commitments to like-minded people or my various communities? Where am I over-committed?
As best as you can, find a balance between your need for joy and your outer obligations. Ask yourself: What if, just for today, I brought 5% more authentic and joyful self-expression to my social interactions? How might coming from an open and truthful place contribute to my long-term vision?
We may also experience authoritarian or rigid attitudes — both toward and from others — and this could create some tension or oppositional behaviors. As best you can, remain flexible and practice self-care, doing your best to take care of your innocent heart.
Ask yourself: How might a creative or playful approach satisfy my “inner child”? If going slow and steady worked better than putting pressure on myself and “being attached” to certain outcomes, where might that come into play?
There are many more aspects we could be talking about here with this Full Moon chart, but I will only mention one more aspect which is a Square between Venus in Pisces and Mars in Gemini: This combo asks that we stretch ourselves with regard to the feminine/masculine dynamic as it manifests both “inside” and “outside”: a shift needs to occur.
Balancing and integrating masculine and feminine energies within ourselves would be very useful now.
The challenge might be that we feel pulled in two directions — on the one hand, we want to feel “one” with others and connect to them through love and kindness, and we want to trust the flow and abundance that life provides — and on the other hand, we want to keep going, initiate connections, and stay busy and in motion. What might it look like if you made room for both of these energies?
Ask yourself: Where might I learn something new about my connection to my divinity or my intuition that changes my relationship to Life/Love/Universal flow? When is it essential to move on something fast, and when is it better to pause and go within? What might a balance between masculine and feminine energies look like for me?
To sum it all up: With this many planets and points in fixed signs, we are asked to break down long-standing patterns, attachments, and identities.
We are also encouraged to acknowledge that we are all in this together, and yet each of us has the ability to effect change by tapping into our own courage and living our own vision — which in turn requires that we drop more fully into our hearts.
Our need to belong is often tied in with our need to be different and unique. When we ‘fit in’ instead of actually ‘belonging,’ we mould ourselves to a situation outside of ourselves instead of standing with our authentic Self.
The question you may want to ask here is: Might it be that I have to belong to myself before I belong anywhere else?
This Full Moon urges us to remember that we all have an important part to play in humanity’s evolution, so ask yourself: Am I able to love and accept myself exactly as I am? And perhaps even for what I am not? Am I living from my essence or my conditioned Self?
To get a better sense of which one it might be, ask yourself: To what degree do I experience joy? Gratitude? Love? No matter what plays out in the collective experience or in my various communities? Do I have the courage to stand in my authentic self-expression? What is my current level of self-acceptance?
This Full Moon shows us that there are plenty of inner and outer processes going on — and we’re all dealing with those processes in our own way.
If we look into our own hearts and see the strength and love lying there, we can reclaim ourselves, remember our divinity and interdependence, and lift ourselves and humanity out of the old paradigm of separation and scarcity.
Flexibility, thinking outside the box, and self-care are critical!

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 14-19 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
