What Needs to Be Completed?

This week’s headline items: the last Quarter Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Monday afternoon; Mercury changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Monday late evening; the Balsamic Moon phase begins Friday late morning/early afternoon; and Venus changes signs from Taurus to Gemini on Saturday late evening.

There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday evening (for 2 hours), Friday early morning (for a little over 4 hours), and Sunday evening (for a brief 56 minutes).

Now, this week’s Forecast…

Monday, May 3rd:

Monday is a big day (astrologically speaking): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future — or on outer space 🙂 Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Monday early morning, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:33am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from  last week Saturday (May 1st) on; it will remain strong until this Tuesday night. This aspect asks that we grow and evolve in the following areas: how we communicate, think, and what (or how) we share.

We may have to find creative solutions to communicate; we may have to learn about our thinking process and conditioning. “Listening” might not be our strong suit at this time: we want to share our opinions, concepts, and long-term visions without limitations — and are thus inclined toward exaggeration, often unintended.

We might experience stubbornness and have trouble agreeing how to put our ideas into practice. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting and creative.

As Jupiter and Mercury are exalted at the time of this aspect — due to both being in the last degree of their respective signs — impatience and self-righteousness might show up, but moving faster or digging our heels in will not necessarily get us where we would like to be. What if you slowed down just 5% when connecting with others? What if that helped you listen 5% more? What might become possible in your collaborations if you were 5% more aware of what you are assuming in any given moment?

If we were being completely honest with ourselves, is “being right” really all that it’s cracked up to be? Do you feel a greater or lesser connection to others when you insist on “being right”?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 25-29 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or 0-2 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Monday morning, a challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:02am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from last week Thursday night (April 30/31st) on; it will remain strong until this Thursday. We’re asked to stretch and grow beyond what we have previously known ourselves to be; our commitments and responsibilities towards the collective are calling us to get out of our comfort zone.

Find creative ways to honor both your comforts (and what you most value), and your desire to build a vision for humanity that lasts and is sustainable. Allow for a slow and steady approach, even if life puts up roadblocks, or throws some curve-balls.

What if you just knew that you could handle whatever shows up? Would you rather build structures that are sustainable for generations to come, or take a more enjoyable and down-to-earth approach to achieving things? Would you rather achieve status in your communities (in person or online) or honor and love yourself exactly as you are? What if it were not a question of “or” but of “and”?

What if you just decided to bring maturity and self-responsibility to the table when dealing with your various affiliations, even if you don’t agree all of the time?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn).

Monday afternoon, at 3:50pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 13.5 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact. The Moon in Aquarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in Taurus. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Aquarius on Sunday morning (May 2nd). This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed — and what needs to be changed.

This Moon phase brings us closer to May 11th’s New Moon in Taurus. With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us to take a look at what needs to be completed. What — if anything — needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since April 11th? What did it mean for you? What actions could shift the things you seeded or started in mid-late April?

As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-16 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Monday at 10:49pm EDT, Mercury changes signs from steady, slow-paced Taurus to curious, quick-witted Gemini, where it will journey until July 11th, longer than usual due to the Mercury Retrograde phase in late May/June. For the next 10 weeks, our thinking shifts gears: Mercury — the energy of communication — will pick up the pace of our lives just a little.

Mental exchanges and abilities take priority for the next 10 weeks — talking, writing, sharing, connecting to the world around us in whatever way we can (internet, phone, in person, TV, radio…). This is a time with great potential for studying and learning, curiosity and open-mindedness, and social/intellectual growth.

Make sure you don’t exhaust yourself during this time. As best as you can, keep taking breaks and let yourself see the larger picture now and again. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel…
