A Chance to Clear Up Misunderstandings
This week’s headline items: the New Moon in Scorpio becomes exact early on Monday morning; Saturn’s Station phase ends on Tuesday; we can act on our New Moon Intentions starting Friday; the Sun aligns with Mars in Scorpio, starting a new Sun-Mars cycle very early Saturday; on Sunday, Neptune starts to slow down (station) again in almost 25º of Pisces, as it prepares to end its 5-month Retrograde phase.
There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday afternoon (for almost 3.5 hours), Wednesday evening (for almost 9 hours), and Saturday very early morning (for 3 hours).
Before we get to this week’s Forecast, a gentle reminder…
I am excited to say that I will be a regular guest on the Soulivity Today Morning Show: “Hot Topics Friday” starting on Friday, Nov. 17th at 8am EST ==> Join me once a month as I discuss hot astrology topics with the lovely Brian Westley Johnson.
Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, November 13th:
Monday, the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 9:23pm EST. We feel things deeply and have “X-Ray Vision” and “Bullshit-Smelling Abilities”.
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever… as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs through subtraction — it encourages us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It’s an excellent time to look at “old” fears, limiting habits, or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Monday early morning at 4:27am EST, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 21 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle. With the New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, it brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest emotional desires and fears; if you’d like to learn more about this Lunation, check out my video on the subject …
Eclipse season is over; Saturn has Stationed Direct on Nov. 4th, so we are feeling a bit more grounded and ready to move things forward in a bigger way.
Here are a couple of things to note in this New Moon chart:
Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, aligns with the New Moon, and all three of those planetary bodies make a Trine to Neptune in Pisces, as well as an exact Opposition to Uranus in Taurus — the planet associated with breakdowns, breakthroughs, sudden change, freedom, and innovation.
Pluto, the modern ruler of Scorpio, is still in serious, cautious, and goal-oriented Capricorn until January 20th, 2024, and still squares the Moon Nodes in Aries-Libra until December 8th/9th. Pluto also still trines Uranus in Taurus and still sextiles Neptune in Pisces.
Mercury, the messenger of the heavens, sextiles Venus in Libra and squares an exalted Saturn in Pisces at the time of the New Moon. More about all that in a moment, but first, let’s talk about the Scorpio energies…
Scorpio is the second water sign of the zodiac, so it relates not only to the depths of our own psyche but also to the ecstasies and traumas of relationships.
Scorpio is also the sign most associated with the dark: the taboo, the subconscious, the unknown. Our Shadow holds not only our fears, unresolved trauma, and less desirable qualities but anything that has been repressed, including our power, intuition, and other gifts.
Now, let’s talk about some planetary aspects in this New Moon chart: The New Moon aligns with Mars in Scorpio. This brings a heightened focus toward… To read the whole New Moon article and get access to all the Coaching questions, click here.
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 18-23 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set powerful intentions for this month’s Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact — and not during a Moon void of course phase.
So this month, the best and most potent time to set intentions would be between 4:27am and 6:03pm on Nov. 13th, then again from 9:23pm (Nov. 13th) until 4:27am on Nov. 15th — New York Time/US Eastern Time.
If you live in a timezone other than EST (US East Coast time), feel free to join my Facebook Fan Page or follow me on Twitter (now “X”). I will be posting reminders on Nov. 13th, 14th, and 15th to let you know when it is the most potent time to set your intentions.

Monday early afternoon, a Sun/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 12:21pm EST. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening (Nov.10th); it will remain strong until Thursday morning (Nov. 16th). What we value in our lives could now be challenged…
We are asked to create a balance between our urge for personal freedom (including financial freedom) versus our awareness of the importance of intimate, empowering connections and collaborations with others.
This aspect is an invitation to stay open and flexible in regard to our interactions with people. We may need to find a balance between what we value/what’s important to us on a physical level, or with our intimate partnerships, or what’s important to us on an emotional level. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.
If you experience fear or uncertainty, focus on what you could really get excited about and get behind in a realistic, grounded way — something that could make a difference, something meaningful. Also, take it one moment at a time; there is no need to rush anything. Simply ask yourself: Could I allow myself to be uncomfortable, just for right now?
We may find that we disagree with other people’s values. We may be restless, even anxious, and therefore feel pressure to act (or react) towards others — or around our desire for financial freedom and independence. We could also be caught off-guard somehow, so stay open-minded and flexible.
Ask yourself: How is my life being interrupted by “divine interventions”? What insights might those interventions have for me? What needs more space in my life?
How might thinking outside the box support my connections with others? What needs a new approach in my interactions? Might it benefit me to stay flexible regarding my intimate relationships or financial partnerships? How might staying calm — in this uncertain climate — support my sanity?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Monday evening at 6:03pm EST, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 3.5 hours until 9:23pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to focus on inner processes. As best as you can, release any fears or traumas that keep you stuck in the past, and deepen your connection to what you feel deeply passionate about out there in the world — you have an opportunity to become fully committed to a project or task now — something that might serve you long-term.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday evening ahead of time.
Monday late evening at 9:23pm EST, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Thursday very early morning. We’re strongly motivated to explore and learn. We’re not likely to be big fans of routine — diversity and new adventures work best at this time — we’re also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic, and inspired — but we also have a high degree of independence — and taking these two influences together, we’d rather inspire others to do things our way, as opposed to issuing or obeying orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge — just watch out you aren’t overdoing or overstating things.
Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius — and it is currently transiting through Taurus, making this a great time to explore our physical reality and comforts. As best as you can, bring the enthusiastic energies of Jupiter to the fulfillment of your physical needs — and get excited about new ways of experiencing abundance in your life.
Ask yourself: What road might lead to a closer connection to honoring and appreciating the physical world — in general, and more specifically, my own (my body, my money, my stuff)? What if I took a 5% more positive attitude toward my finances?
What personal beliefs about my value am I now ready to explore or transcend? Could I allow myself to have faith while exploring the physical world from a new perspective?
Use this time to embrace your self-worth, allow yourself to see beauty everywhere, and value yourself exactly as you are and as you are not. When you honor your own values and preferences, you are honoring life itself! What you conclude in the name of self-love, others will benefit from it in the end.
