Facing Life on Life’s Terms

This week’s headline items: Mercury and Chiron remain exalted all week; the Balsamic Moon phase begins early Monday; Venus squares the Moon Nodes (exact on Monday evening); the Sun changes signs from Cancer to Leo late Tuesday morning; the New Moon in Leo becomes exact on Thursday afternoon. Last but not least, Mercury ends its station on Sunday (it stays retrograde until August 11th.)

There will be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week: Monday afternoon (for 16.5 hours), Wednesday evening (for almost 15 hours), and Saturday morning (for almost 10 hours).

Monday, July 21st: 

Monday, the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day; it will journey there until Tuesday morning. Until then, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible.

“Busy” feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way… The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead …

Monday at 4:30am EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins, when the Moon reaches almost 14 degrees of Gemini. This Moon phase lasts until Thursday afternoon  (July 24th) when the New Moon in Leo becomes exact.

We are being asked to slow down and get quiet to listen to our inner sensing/intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. Stay grounded, take a deep breath, and exhale any tension as best as you can.

Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.

This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Monday from 4:35am until 10:35am EDT, we can connect with others and express ourselves playfully and from the heart. What might become possible if we exchanged information with others to create more heart-openings?(Moon in Gemini sextiles Mercury in Leo, exact at 7:36am EDT)

Monday from 10:25am until 6:25pm EDT, we are invited to connect with others and share ourselves in whatever way, shape, or form feels right to us in the moment: spoken or written word, phone, email, IM, letter, etc.(Moon conjuncts Venus in Gemini, exact at 2:23pm EDT)

Monday at 3:52pm EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for 16.5 hours, until 8:26am EDT (Tuesday morning). We can best use this intuitive time to bring a new level of focus and authenticity to who we are being in every “moment of now” — and to how we can be the best version of ourselves while connecting with others.

What if exchanging information with others placed them on the path that leads to the best version of themselves?

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday afternoon until Tuesday morning ahead of time!

Also on Monday around 9:30pm EDT, Venus squares the Moon Nodes (in 19.5º of Pisces-Virgo), when she reaches 19º32′ of Gemini. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday (July 19th) on; it will remain strong until Thursday morning (July 24th).

Squares mark turning points; this one challenges us to go beyond our need for perfection to a more flexible and open-minded place.

These Squares are calling on us to take a sharp turn toward open thought and communication around the mundane — and when tuning into our “feeling-body”. 

We need a perceptual shift to move forward, and this is a pivotal moment in our relationships, including the one we have with ourselves. It encourages us to balance the left and right brain, logic and creativity — in other words, to deepen the integration of mind and heart.

Ask yourself: What if I were open to seeing things from a more curious standpoint when it comes to human life and all its paradoxes? What might it look like for me and my relationship with others if the most profound perspective shift were not political or scientific but spiritual?

Since we’re working with many Mutable Signs, it’s pointless to get too distracted, overwhelmed, or scattered with our thoughts, information, interactions, opinions, etc.

The empty leg for Venus’ Square to the Moon Nodes lies in Sagittarius. We are invited to pay attention to the bigger picture and look for solutions that stem from our own direct experience and exploration of the “truth.”

The wisdom we gain from these explorations will benefit us when interacting with others or navigating media and other information sources.
