Now, this week’s Forecast…
Monday, Aug. 19th:
Monday is a huge day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 6:52pm EDT. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement.
Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, innovative methods, and progress are promoted while the Moon moves through Aquarius.
Again, we have our eyes on the future — or outer space — and personal freedom becomes paramount.
Monday early morning, a Venus/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 4:30am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday evening (Aug. 16th) on; it will remain strong until Wednesday evening (Aug. 21st).
This might be a time of relationship tests or trials: we may not be attracting the things and people that we want in our lives — at least, not as easily as we were before this transit.
This can be eye-opening — a signal to work on improving the “ways” (as well as the “things”) that we bring to partnerships or to our finances. Doubts could be raised now.
We may feel isolated and definitely more introverted. But what’s really required is that we slow things down and be as realistic as we can possibly be.
We could be withdrawing or holding back a little as we attempt to figure out what we want and need.
We are working towards ridding ourselves of self-delusion when it comes to partnerships, socializing, and finances. In the process, we might feel disdain for inauthentic interactions and resent “going through the motions” on a social and/or mental level.
Our goal here is to make more connections aligned with our own spiritual truth. Relationships built on weak foundations may not survive, but stronger ones can be improved and strengthened.
Financial matters might be stressful for the time being; this forces us into a position of conservation and moderation. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this — and on an external level with others.
Ask yourself: What is asking to be improved? Where do I need to focus? How might being present and patient support me and others? If doubts arise, could I refrain from overthinking things and stay connected to my intuition and heart energies?
Think back to March 22nd of this year, when Venus was conjunct Saturn in Pisces. With Venus opposing Saturn now, we can start to see the fruits of the seeds that were planted back then. So, What were the seeds then? What are the fruits now?
In other words, What has emerged since March regarding who and what you value? We are also now more aware of what we have (and haven’t) learned since then… Do you like what you see? Is there room for more learning and integration? Did the commitments you made then feel both attainable and practical?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-21 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra, or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Monday early afternoon, a challenging Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:45pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday morning (Aug. 16th) on; it will remain strong until Thursday (Aug. 21st).
Routines and plans — especially those connected with creative endeavors, children, romance, parties, or sporting events — are quite likely to experience disruption, calling for flexibility and creative solutions.
During this transit, we feel a great need to make progress, as we feel quite restless — maybe even anxious — but if we’re unclear on what is in our best interest, we might focus on things that don’t serve us in the long run.
As best as you can, go with the flow and stay open to experiencing something new and wonderfully unexpected; if you can, put off making major decisions for the time being… “haste makes waste” during this aspect.
You can think of this as “reorganizing” time — like rearranging your furniture — try not to resist the reorganization. Enjoy the ride… and remember: it only feels uncomfortable because it’s new and different. Could you allow yourself to be comfortable with being uncomfortable?
Ask yourself: What might a reorganization of my finances or talents look like? Could I allow myself to hang out with the discomfort that might come up as things shift and progress? Could I be open to experiencing something new and wonderfully unexpected?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Monday afternoon at 2:26pm EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 27 degrees of Aquarius. The Moon’s entry into Aquarius on Aug. 17th initiates the energetic build-up towards this Full Moon.
Oppositions always reflect back to the planets’ conjunction; we examine the progress made since that conjunction. For example, during a Full Moon, we look back to the previous New Moon (in this instance, Aug. 4th) to assess what has evolved since then.
Here are the astrological highlights of this Full Moon chart:
- There are two T-squares in this Full Moon chart, and both rulers of the Full Moon (Uranus and Saturn) are involved!
- One of the T-squares involves the Full Moon polarity (Aquarius-Leo) with Uranus in Taurus as the Focal Point
- The other T-square involves Saturn in Pisces, Venus in Virgo, and the Jupiter-Mars alignment in Gemini as the Focal Point
- Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) is exalted at the time of the Full Moon – as it prepares for its yearly Retrograde phase that begins on Sept. 1st
And so much more… But first, let’s talk about the Full Moon polarity: the Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun & Mercury in fun-loving, expressive Leo.
This opposition highlights the power of our creativity as individuals and the exponential potency of collaboration. It invites us to reclaim ourselves and add our voice, heart, and hands to something meaningful.
Since Mercury is currently in retrograde motion, we may need to look back before we can move forward.
Mercury started its 3.5-week Retrograde on Aug. 5th (soon after the last New Moon in Leo). So rather than sharing something new, we may want to revisit what we created or discussed from July 17th to 21st, when Mercury moved through its pre-Shadow phase in Leo.
The invitation with this opposition is to dare to be different and to remember how we are all part of a larger whole. The highest quest of Leo leads to authentic Self-expression: to embody our gifts, shine our light, and live our truth.
The highest task of Aquarius, on the other hand, is the attainment of unity in diversity, where everyone’s uniqueness is honored and included.
When we align our heads with our hearts, we feel our interconnectedness with all of humanity and create and connect from love instead of fear.
Given that Leo represents our self-expression and Aquarius our vision for humankind, a question arises: How can we best balance these two energies? Or even integrate them?
We’ll seek answers to this question for the next two weeks, as we might become more aware that something is out of alignment.
All Full Moons have a shadow side — so let’s take a look at the shadow of both signs involved in this Full Moon — please note that the shadow side of any sign is usually not as comfortable to look at or embrace
As always, with shadow aspects of ourselves, we need to beware of getting triggered and jumping to conclusions; we need to take time to respond rather than react.
Let’s start with Leo’s shadow side:
Leo’s shadow can show up as self-centeredness or narcissism — picture a child that cannot see beyond itself, is not aware of other people in the room, and cannot look past the current moment to the consequences down the line.
Let’s look at Aquarius’s shadow side: this can show up when we get overly attached to the mind and its functions, especially idealized visions, rigid thinking about the future, etc. “Headiness” kicks in, and the mind’s activity reaches an all-time high.
The shadow side of Aquarius may hold lofty ideals but leave us clueless as to how to “be the change we wish to see in the world” — instead, we want others to be that change.
It’s essential to be especially aware and responsible when connecting with others, so as best as you can, get present and ask yourself: What am I bringing forth? What are my intentions?
Now let’s take a look at some of the aspects of this Full Moon chart… to read the whole Full Moon article and get all of its Coaching questions, please click here.
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you may feel the effects of this Full Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer).
At the same time the Full Moon becomes exact at 2:26pm EDT, we also enter a 4.5-hour Moon VoC that lasts until 6:52pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make clear choices when it comes to engaging with like-minded people.
Do your best to find a balance between your need for a cause that changes the future for some (or many) versus being aware of your own heartfelt, joyful self-expression and courageousness.
As always, with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday afternoon until the evening ahead of time.
Monday early evening, a long-term, challenging Jupiter/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 5:46pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Aug. 6th on; it will remain strong until Sept. 3rd.
Any Square invites us to surpass our previous limitations; Jupiter and Saturn, as social planets, are usually linked to our social and economic contracts, agreements, and dynamics.
With Jupiter in Gemini, we have a tendency to think big and maybe feel a bit scatterbrained or at least have a restless mind. We see lots of opportunities and want to move on them fast. Patience is probably not at the top of our list. However, optimism is quite strong.
With Saturn in Pisces, we are invited to move toward spiritual self-sovereignty by going within and practicing spiritual maturity.
We are asked to reassess our interconnectivity with all of life, our use of spiritual practices, and our ability to be present in the here and now — or lack thereof.
Saturn will be in a Square to Jupiter three times over the next ten months. This first one, being part of a T-Square and on the same day as the Full Moon, might kick up some dust or frustration.
This Square might ask us to transcend our self-imposed limitations or urge us to stay more connected to our inner guidance, not allowing the mind to take over to the extent that we are no longer centered in our own spiritual core or able to be present and experience peace.
Impatience and unrealistic expectations might lie behind our frustrations.
And, of course, when it comes to Saturn, we are always invited to slow things down enough so we don’t misstep or go overboard.
Some restructuring of our lives and business goals might be in order. We may be looking for new challenges — sometimes because we are forced to look, as things are not going exactly to plan.
We have a desire to grow and expand, but this attitude is tempered with caution and a sense of restriction. Take steps to grow, but don’t overextend, or you’re bound to grow frustrated.
This aspect also reveals where our beliefs may be out of sync with reality. What was true before may not be now — and perhaps never was — and conversely, the impossible may now be feasible.
As best as you can, take a look at what’s holding you back: Are there “old” fears or beliefs that are no longer keeping you on your intended course? Imagine for a moment that you wake up tomorrow morning, and fear has mysteriously vanished… What would be possible?
Every Square and Opposition prompts us to look back to the beginning of the cycle between the two planets involved. The most recent alignment of Jupiter and Saturn was in December 2020, at 0º of Aquarius.
Think back to that time and ask yourself: What commitments did I make? Where was my focus? What seeds were planted in late 2021 or early 2022? What shift am I now asked to navigate?
Where do I need to change my mind about my approach? To what degree do I engage my head — and to what degree do I engage my heart? Am I ready to listen more carefully? Could I go beyond my conditioned mind?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-21 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect; this is also true for those of us with the Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Capricorn (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Monday evening at 6:52pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. This Moon placement often finds us more than usually sensitive, intuitive, idealistic, and imaginative.
We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy, and affection for all, especially those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But that idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn’t match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities.
A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It’s also an excellent time for releasing fears — especially the ones based on a sense of separation — and experiencing “oneness”.
Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them — in fact, “going with the flow” is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Neptune is the ruler of Pisces — and it is currently in its own sign. This is making these next two days a great time to take a look at our inner spiritual connection to our “higher Self”, “Source”, or “God/Goddess”.
It’s also a great time to allow all there is as it is and to go with the flow, following our intuitive voice as much as possible. We are being asked to tap into the “feminine” energies within ourselves so we can start to vibrate on a universal frequency.
Ask yourself: Is my “Higher Self” asking for more introverted/inner love time? If I tune in with my intuitive voice, what am I receiving? Sensing?
Where in my life have I become too disconnected from life? Love? God/Goddess? What is my connection to the spiritual realm? What about the “heart realm”? How could nature and animals teach me about those realms?
Do I need more downtime? More resting time? More compassion? How might being kind to myself and trusting the process of Life create a more loving connection with the universe?
